I really wish we'd had more time to sit and enjoy everything. Now my one personal grievance: WHERE IS THE SPICY SALSA?! We're in Mexico, I need to feel something!! I asked our server why nothing was spicy, and he told me it was because of tourism. -.- I ended up paying extra for them to roast some peppers for me just so I could get some heat. Spice crisis aside, the food was delicious. I started with a bowl of consomé, which absolutely hit the spot after climbing the pyramids, and I had the mole verde for my main dish. My partner ordered the steak, and we both really enjoyed our meals. One thing to keep in mind is the pricing. It's definitely on the touristy side and closer to what you'd expect to pay at a restaurant in the U.S. You're paying for the setting and overall experience in addition to the food, so don't necessarily come expecting inexpensive Mexico prices. One of my favorite touches came at the end of the meal. They give you a candle to place among the rocks, representing a new beginning. I thought that was such a sweet and meaningful way to end the experience. Overall, the food was amazing and the space is genuinely gorgeous. I would recommend experiencing it at least once--just give yourself plenty of time, expect U.S.-ish pricing, and if you're a spicy girl like me, prepare yourself for the tourist-level salsa situation.
