I'm so glad my car broke down in front of La Casita because the street tacos are amazing. They don't really advertise it but everything is handmade in their warehouse next to the restaurant. Tortillas, marinades, salsas, drinks, everything! I found out that they also serve some great breakfast tacos from another customer and their homemade Menudo sells out fast on Sundays. This place was a waste of time and money. The burritos were so expensive ! My 8+ dollars burrito had no rice or beans !! The "supreme" burrito was not wrapped at all, my husband couldn't even eat it. He was so mad. I asked for salsa on the side, that should be free, but she said "sorry no....". Like what ? Why? So my burrito was dry as ever. This place again was a waste of my money! Ok so yes the ladies may not be the friendliest but the delicious Chile Verde makes up for what they lack! The tortillas are freshly made and remind me of real homemade cooking! The burrito is a bit pricy for just meat in a tortilla but let's be real the Chile verde is the reason to go anyway! Ok so this is the Big Ben special. I got the asda. The weight is roughly 2 pounds. The wrapper, is two not one, but two homemade tortillas. This sum-bitch is loaded!! Rice, beans ,cheese, sourcream, guacamole and yes, asda. The store is on the corner. And i say store because they do sell stuff other than food. The have a variety of thing in the store. But we wont go into that. Lets stay on point. To wash the burrito down I bought a Mexican coke. And I know its a mexican coke because at the top of the bottle it says "medio litro". I think its something liter. Lol. Im such a pocho. The burrito is seasond to perfection. It will feed 2 people with self respect. I don't have that. I ate the whole thing. And finished the coke. Called in my first order by phone(& to make sure they were open because I'd always pass by it & it looked permanently closed). Got a Chile Verde burrito. It is the best one I've had in Merced so far. Lots of pork, lite sauce, with no beans or rice which I didn't have to ask to leave out. It was big and reasonably priced at $11+. I was happy with the burrito & the whole experience here. It's been a long time since I've came here. We ordered a enchilada plate. The sauce was from a can with no flavor including the beans. I was expecting something more authentic from this little tortilleria). I also ordered a chicken fajita burrito which barely had any chicken & more bell green bell peppers that made the burrito taste bitter & no sauce binding it all deliciously together, highly disappointed!!! I waited while the person I was with went to get cash. As I waited the old man decided to say "what kind of women doesn't carry cash on her. what's wrong with you" He told another lady (as she was walking out) "CARRY CASH". One of the ladies asked if I was waiting to order. I said "no my friend went to get cash. I'm just waiting." Old man said "what kind of man is he. He doesn't even have cash. That's not even a real man". Sir it's not my fault or any of the other 15 costumers that went in there that YOU do not know how to work the card reader. Cash does not define the person.
