Neon Jamon

When Neon Jamon first opened I thought it was too quirky an idea to work. Tapas and cava?…read more Hmmm...for me cava has always just been an aperitif or something to quaff on a celebratory night out but not something to drink with food. How wrong I was! I have been to Neon Jamon three times and I enjoy it more and more every time I go. The whole concept is just so beautifully simple and effective. Pick a few small plates and either a bottle of fizz, a jug of sangria, a glass of sherry from their impressive selection or a Spanish beer and enjoy! It gives the whole tapas thing just a touch more class - I love it! The menu is extensive but not complicated and doesn't patronise the customer by veering from proper, traditional Spanish cuisine into 'tapas light' as I would call it and as many tapas chain restaurants do. The building itself is small and cosy without being pokey and lovely if you don't mind a bit of a chat with the people on the next table or at the window bar/tall stool area (my favourite place to sit). The staff are always friendly and seem genuinely excited about the menu which is always refreshing. Neon Jamon really is a great place to go for a fun, relaxed night and to enjoy really fabulous food with the extra glamour of fizz - what's not to love?! P.S. They also do a brilliant 2 dishes for £8 lunch deal and serve breakfast from 10am. Dammit, why don't I live round the corner??

We managed to come here on a late Sunday afternoon before our drive back home. Neon Jamón offers a modern twist to tapas as well generous portions. Food was prepared very well, having much flavor in each bite. We particularly enjoyed the clams and ribs! We couldn't resist having dessert and we ordered the churros and Nutella cheesecake which were simply scrumptious. This location is a bit smaller than the other branch but they have some booths upstairs. We highly recommend this restaurant and will try to come again when we're back in Liverpool!

Been here twice now (first time when first opened)…read more Absolutely brilliant. Great service, superb! Great drinks and atmosphere. Barcelona 'bomb' was a little bland though, everything else fantastic (lobster tacos could benefit from a squeeze of lime and a grain of salt, especially at nearly 10 quid a pop) Everything else was soooo great. What a place you have here. Fab oysters, croquetas de jamón, pil pil awesome! Top cocktails too! Definitely admire how you guys deal with being busy, it's a joy to watch.

We finally got a table!!!…read more I have been trying for 12 months to get a table at this place! If you ring a week before the chances of you get a table are SLIM! It is so popular in the heart of Warrington. Las ramblas is based in the cultural quarter in Warrington, I really like the cultural quarter it's got some great restaurants and bars. The staff are absolutely lovely at las ramblas!! I am only sorry we didn't leave a tip because we had no change :0 so sorry about that and we didn't have the option to do it by card ! the food is lovely I love tapas, there is a good range of dishes including specials, the portions are generous so consider that before you order to any dishes ! The kitchen is open I always love to watch food being cooked I think it's important that ,you can watch your food being cooked especially in regards to hygiene ! The restaurant is large and it's well planned out. They also have live music on a regular basis not just at weekends! If you are in the area check it out even if it's for a cheeky cocktail because they are awesome too :)

Nice place…read more Extensive Tapas menu and not too pricey. I am reviewing this from a vegan perspective, though, so a majority of the menu is not applicable so I cannot comment on it. However, there is a fair range of menu items that are vegan suitable (much more than most restaurants, especially in Warrington). There were also plenty of menu items that could be 'veganized' upon request. The food was delicious and I certainly ate more than I should have! The really great thing about this place, for me anyway, was the service. Our waiter was very accomodating of my strange requests of vegan foods that couldn't be spicy or contain a host of other things that does my IBS no good. He (and the chefs, of course) went the extra mile(s) to make sure that I had a decent meal and an enjoyable time, which meant alot to me. Aswell as dining here, I have worked as a photographer for a local soul singer. Again, I found the staff very polite and conscientious, trying not to walk infront of me when I was about to take a shot. I, of course, told them not to worry about that. After dining closes (at around 10pm, I think), the bar stays open and the place turns into a bar lounge of sorts. Although this is not my usual 'night out' choice, I have to say that the atmosphere was most pleasant. Everyone just out for a good time and not even the threat of any trouble (which is unusual for Warrington). The aforementioned soul singer, by the name of Sebastian, has a regular slot at Mojo's. He performs during the latter hours of dining and stays until around midnight. He is always very well received and adds a great vibe to the place, as you would expect a chilled out soul singer to!

I'm afraid that after my visit last night I've had to add comments to my review…read more We took friends on my recommendation for a chilled out meal after a long weekend away expecting a nice chilled out eating experience. I like the idea of tapas because you spend an hour or so eating nibbles as and when they come out. We ordered 13 dishes between for of us expecting them to come out a few at a time when there where ready, nibble, nut, olive first then some of the quicker meals then the rest. Expecting to wait only a few minutes for the first dishes butting us on till some of the others came out. This didn't happen. the Restaurant was only at about 20% capacity and we gave our order and waited at least an hour for the food which all came out together with temperature varying from cold to just warm. I think the chef had been making them as and when and the serving staff fetched them all out when the last one was done. We complained about the cold dishes and was told they'd be replaced. 20 minutes after finishing the other dishes the replacements had not arrived. I told the waiter to forget it. I was thinking maybe they just messed up that night but looking at some other reviews it seems like a trend. None of the food I had was particularly nice. All just basic stuff not that well done. I really do not think I'l be returning. God knows what it'd be like on a busy night. I dread to think. PREVIOUS REVIEW This place was on my hit list for a while but didn't manage to get there. Then a few weeks ago I managed to get there 3 times in a week. I'm afraid that they mainly ended in a champagne haze of merryment so I can't really coment on the finer details or even the cost situation. I do know that I enjoyed each visit and the food, atmosphere and bubbly was good. It did empty my pockets of all the cash I took each time. Next time I go I shall try to be more restrained. It's a good place to go for a celebration and on the Friday we went it had good music playing and a party atmosphere. They have plenty of pricing offers on during the week. The idea was to obviously expand the Parkfield with something the same but not quite. Just like the Parkfield, Rhubarb is a traditional British pub, decked in a dark wood interior and keeping it simple behind the bar. However after a falling out with the owners of the Parkfield site, he simply moved himself and his staff and most of his punters next door with him. The competition is only a good thing for the Lane as for too long I have bemoaned the lack of pubs along Lark Lane as it has favoured wine bars or tapas restaurants. Rhubarb is only small but that only adds to a friendly atmosphere amongst a customer base who all seem to know each other and whose conversations bounce around the place making you feel very welcome. And with plenty of screens around you can always get a good view of any sport on show - of course 9 times out of ten that might be horse racing.

Visiting on a glorious afternoon, the first thing that I noticed about Rhubarb, compared to most…read moreother establishments on Lark Lane, was how dark it was. Obviously for a British pub that ultimately means nothing, but the fact natural light made it six inches into the place before giving up the ghost made me want to reverse. Rhubarb is more suited to the night, when the surrounding Mediterranean eateries are too packed with people having dinner to enjoy as places to drink. Oh, and that's not just some weird Spaniard muttering things to you in the gents. It's a language tape. I repeatedly forget this.

I came here tonight , although my courtesy phone did not allow to check me in :(…read more On the outside, this looks like your average pub, indoors it is quite a cosy little area, with cushioned armchairs, traditional furniture lit in candle light. The vintage looking bar offers you the usual beverages, but I was quite surprised that this place specializes in tapas. The tapas menu looked vast in its A3 laminate holder, but under closer inspection it was the same food but presented in very similar ways;..For example there were three different types of croquettes. but this would be cheese prawn or mushroom. Same goes for the omelettes. prawns and chorizo dishes which were served in either tomato or cheese base sauces... I looked at the set menus which did not save you much money. so we decided to choose what we wanted individually.. The waitress that served us was very polite but reminded me of my old English teacher, I think with this being such a relaxing pub you need staff to match...If this were a fine dining restaurant the staff may have looked less sore thumbish.. Anyway I ordered a glass of house red rioja which was pleasing to accompany my mammoth meal...My problem is in these sort of places my eyes are bigger than my belly, so I am grateful I held back on my usual ''spray and prey' approach.. We began on the nachos which were £10...which were surprisingly filling, served with beautiful jalapenos pickled in honey and more chill...the bottom of the bowl had turned to quite a soggy mess, which is to be expected I guess but overall very flavorsome with the salsa, sour cream, lots of cheese and guacamole. After this had almost defeated us, we chose of course the potatoes bravas, which were cooked well in a salsa. The chorizo dish my colleague dish looked better though :) Other side dishes consisted of some tiger prawns which were not very tigery in size in a thick tomato paste sauce and mushrooms in a thick blue cheese sauce . I think it is because I have been spoiled with other tapas and Labanese places where the choice has been more refreshing...that I did not enjoy this as much my colleague. Usually there are other dishes which offer a lighter alternative like dried/smoked fish and meats, waver thin cheese , nuts etc. But here everything seemed to be bogged down with a rich sauce... Overall I think if you are passing by on a cold winters day and in need of a warming up come here. It has an inviting decor/ambiance when you step in, and the lunch menu aka bottle of wine and a few plates of food for under £15 is not bad....but I have fulfilled my curiosity with this one..
