The funny thing is that we wanted Italian food but all of those places were closed and our only good option was this place. Although we really enjoyed the Italian cuisine in Cortona, we're so glad we found this place. The server was very accommodating to my wife's soy allergy and made sure it wasn't in any of the food, especially the mayo as it often is. This place makes their own tasty mayo. Most burger places have either a great hamburger and okay fries or great fries and an okay burger. But it's very rare to find the perfect combo like here. We know it sounds crazy but if you're an American and accustomed to good burgers, give this place a try. You might be surprised that it's the best you've ever had! PS - to top off a great trip to Cortona, I got to meet and get a picture taken with Jovanotti, my favorite Italian singer!!!

Oh my goodness, this was another tour guide recommendation…read more It was just AWFUL. This is also a big tourist trap. They charge you €2 per person for the silverware, then charge you €0.50 for a spoon full of ketchup. We each had a container of fries to go with our sandwiches, so one small thing of ketchup was not nearly enough. Obviously, we ordered more, hoping they'd bring us a ketchup bottle. Nope, because they were charging for the ketchup, we didn't see that till the bill came. My daughter had the cheeseburger. According to her, she has never eaten such a dry, crunchy burger in her life. Obviously, she didn't finish because it was hard to get down. As for me, I tried the recommendation of the tour guide. Big mistake! The classic Florentine sandwich, the Lampredotto. I should've known better, but I'm willing to try anything once. It was a chew, tasteless, slimy sandwich. You can't eat it like a sandwich because it's so wet and soggy that it falls apart. You need a knife and fork. You needed the ketchup that they gave up by the spoonful, and still, it was tasteless. This is not a place I recommend to anyone. If you're used to eating juicy burgers, this is not the place for you.

The ambiance is charming, with a cozy, small-shop feel tucked away in the alleys of Italy. Umbria, the region's cuisine, is known for its bold flavors, local wines, and use of fresh herbs. We tried a few standout dishes: * Tagliolini al tartufo - 5/5 (Rich, earthy truffle flavor, perfectly cooked pasta) * Gnocchi al ragù - 4/5 (Soft gnocchi with a flavorful meat sauce) * Agnello (lamb) with roasted potatoes - 4/5 (Tender and well-seasoned, but could use a bit more crispiness) * Legumi e cereali soup (legume, cereal, and pumpkin soup) - 4/5 (Warm and hearty, great for a chilly day)

I went over there with my mom during the lunch break of a tour in Assisi…read more The place is located in a beautiful plaza and the ambiance is quite nice, we were promptly seated. The service was pretty mediocre, as well as the food. I as expecting greatness, I mean a trattoria in Assisi!? C'mon!! I was definitely disappointed. My mother ordered gnocchi even though the sauce was pretty decent, they were made by flour, not potatoes, meaning no authentic. I had beef with rosemary and it was kinda bland, not what I was expecting. Prices were average, and they charge €2.5 Cover charge per person ( the infamous Cuperto) Not recommended
