    Salmon Tartina

While dining at our favorite French Bakery, a seatmate mentioned this place as one of his favorites. We can appreciate how it is a favorite! A light lunch today. I had the Smoked Salmon Tartina which was wonderful. Two slices of Italian bread with cream cheese, a generous amount of smoked salmon, a drizzle of olive oil, slivers red onion and capers. Absolutely delicious. I finished with a great Capucino. Great service and relaxing ambiance.

I tried this place out for brunch with my girlfriends during our vacation in Florida. We really enjoyed the vibe of the place and the people working were kind and really fun to talk to! The place has a bunch of funny and silly quotes that really gave the environment some personality too. I ordered a chicken panini and it was filling and delicious! I love the bread that it came on and the portion was enough to keep me full for hours! I also ordered a cappuccino that came in a cute little cappuccino mug! It was also yummy. I'm glad I stopped by and maybe one day if I'm ever back in the area, I'll come again!

Ready to be blown away? The coffee was amazing. Stopped in for a random reason (waiting for a medical procedure down the road). This was such a nice, casual spot. Had the salmon on ciabatta and it was light and delicious. Took a croissant to go which was flaky and tasty! Highly recommend!

Best cappuccino. Meglio che in italia. Best lasagna, best scaloppine di pollo . Best service

I'm a local who's tried many cafes in the area, but this has to be my favorite one. My grandfather and I come to this cafe together almost every week. The food is always fabulous and I personally believe it has the best coffee in town! I've enjoyed every menu item I've tried and the service and atmosphere there is always wonderful. Highly recommend! My personal favorite menu items are the croissants, cappuccino, and the tuna salad panini--but everything served there is a delight.

I searched for a cafe in this person of Fort Lauderdale with wifi so that I could get some important emails done before heading back to Miami. Came across La Bottega Caffe through the Yelp app. The owner helped me work out what to get describing everything with his Italian accent. There's little authentic treats from Italy that you can't get here. Menu looks similar to the ones I would find in Italy. I'll go back to try the lunch. For now I had the coffee and it was good.

I was excited to try this place since it's right down the street from where I live. My friend and I both ordered cappuccinos which were perfect I don't like super strong coffee and this cappuccino was a perfect blend of coffee and foamed milk. We did not try any food, however they do sell variety of items including panna cotta & and other Italian desserts. There is a parking lot just north of the building with plenty of parking spots I look forward to coming back here regularly.

Got the iced cappuccino and creme croissant. Very tidy, and the ambiance is really nice. Lots of signs with jokes on the wall that will make you laugh. The owner and people are very friendly. The service is amazing and fast. Good place to study as well with wifi.

What a gem! This coffee place is very close to the beach. It is easy to miss when you're simply cruising by as it is on the side of a Main Street and not very flashy. So please, use your navigation or phone when getting to it. La Bottega is the definition of a "hole in the wall" coffee shop, which to my surprise, was very busy! Busy enough without being obnoxiously loud, I know YOU know what I'm saying. Aside from the coffee and the amazing owner, the food there is simple and filling. Do not let the simplicity of their menu fool you as it is all really fresh, plentiful and quality. Also, BIG TIP, Check in for a free coffee ! And there's parking right behind the establishment!

    Cappuccino

Best place in town for an authentic italian cappuccino or espresso. Ive been 1 week in FL for business and leasure and had my daily breakfast at Salvatore's coffee bar every day of the week. Nice atmosphere, kind people, lovely way to start the day.

My boyfriend and I just stopped for a quick bite and quick coffee before doing errands today & read alot of good reviews about this place. We went in and asked for an iced cappucino with almond milk and double shot espresso and was pleasantly surprised! We asked for their famous tiramisu and ate it within 5 seconds. Everyone was super friendly inside! I would like to try more things on the menu for sure! I will be back ! Thank you for your hospitality! Truly a great experience

I especially love coming here for their coffee. The service style is great; you order at the counter and then pick a spot to sit, and the friendly staff brings everything right to your table. I love everyone's responses. I get to see their personality even tho they're just working. I ended trying their Cinnamon Toast Iced Latte with Oatmilk. Amazing! The other girls got a Iced Lavendar Matcha with Oatmilk. And they had the option to get an 8oz versus an 12oz and although it was so tiny, it was cuteeee, and actually the perfect size.

The design is really beautiful, and I appreciated the laptop vs. non-laptop zone. What made me feel incredibly uncomfortable, though, was the service. Every single person in line ahead of me was greeted warmly. I even heard the cashier having a conversation with a customer about college and how exciting it'll be, which I thought was really sweet. Service is an energetically taxing job, so seeing someone be that warm and engaging with every person made me feel like I was about to have a great experience too. The second I walked up? She didn't look me in the eye once. I greeted her, asked how she was, and got a very boilerplate response that, in tone, felt like "please hurry up and give me your order." It was jarring, especially after seeing how warm she had been with everyone else. I wasn't looking for a full conversation, but from the moment I said hello, I felt like I was bothering her. I left feeling noticeably unwelcome in comparison to everyone before me. The drink I had was okay, which matters, but honestly, how a place makes you feel matters more. I'm sure this review is a drop in the ocean, but it's something I'll definitely be sharing with friends and family if they're considering trying Porfa.

A roaster bearing the name of…read morean Indigenous people -- the Calusa, the ancient shell-mound builders, the unconquered lords of South Florida's mangroves and waterways. People who never surrendered. People whose bones are folded into this very soil. As someone who walks through this world carrying Taíno blood and the memory of peoples whose names colonizers tried to erase, that word hit different. It wasn't a gimmick. It wasn't a logo. It was a declaration -- that this land has a story older than any espresso machine, and somebody here understood that. That understanding alone earned my curiosity and my respect before I'd even stepped through the door. "The name carried the weight of a people who never bent. That's the kind of legacy worth building a roastery around." Then I learned the story behind the man behind the roaster -- and it only deepened my respect. Luis Arteaga came home from serving in the United States Marine Corps and did what so many veterans do: he looked for work. No fanfare. No red carpet. Just a man with discipline in his bones and calluses on his hands, trying to find his next mission in a civilian world that doesn't always know what to do with people like that. He found his way to the original owners of Calusa Coffee Roasters. They saw in him what the Corps had always seen -- dependability, grit, and a willingness to learn. They gave him a job. A floor to stand on. And Luis did what Marines do -- he didn't just fill a position, he grew into something greater. Over time, through sweat and dedication and an unmistakable passion for the craft, he rose to become the owner of the very roastery that once took a chance on him. That's not a business story. That's an American story. A veteran's story. And it's exactly the kind of origin that makes a cup of coffee taste like something more than coffee. CALUSA COFFEE ROASTERS IS A SOUTH FLORIDA INSTITUTION Fast forward to today, and Calusa Coffee Roasters isn't just surviving -- it is a staple. Walk into the right cigar bar on a Friday evening and someone at the table will mention the name. Sit down at the right diner counter on a Tuesday morning and a regular will nod toward that familiar bag. In South Florida's rich, layered, cafecito-and-culture coffee landscape, that kind of word-of-mouth is earned over years of consistency, of showing up, of never letting the cup get small. Luis continues to build something that belongs to this community -- rooted in the terroir of a region as complex and layered as its people. The coffee is exceptional. Bold where it should be bold, nuanced where it earns it. The kind of roast that makes you sit down instead of rushing out. That's no accident. That's someone who respects the craft because he was forged in institutions that demand nothing less than your best. "When a Marine finds his mission in a roastery, every bag he puts his name on carries the same standard -- do it right or don't do it at all." Meeting Luis was one of those moments I didn't expect to move me the way it did. We are both moving through the coffee world trying to build something that means something -- something rooted in identity, in service, in the belief that what's in the cup should tell a story worth hearing. And here was a fellow Marine who had walked a road I recognize: uncertain ground, earned footing, and a refusal to quit. And finally, if you are in South Florida and you have not made the pilgrimage to Calusa Coffee Roasters on Commercial Blvd, you are overdue. Go for the coffee -- stay for the story. And if you're lucky enough to meet the man himself, shake his hand. He earned it in more ways than one. To Luis Arteaga and everyone at Calusa: thank you for carrying a name that honors this land. Thank you for honoring the service that shaped you. And thank you for a cup of coffee that carries the weight of all of it without spilling a drop. Semper Fi, brother. Keep roasting.
