If Zero stars was an option I would give this venue and Kapo zero stars. We arrived at 8pm and no live openers but just the DJ track (YouTube music video equivalent) until 12:20am. Kapo came on around 12:25am when my group was already leaving. No small or big artist is worth that wait especially when they are promised at 8pm. Drinks were overpriced and mainly juice/sugar. Beers were priced high too. The venue did a poor job with not at least giving the crowd an update and kept repeating songs to waste time. Went to see J Alvarez & Rkm . Had a great time. Close up view of the artist performing for an amazing price $. A good amount of people, and pretty ladies. Bars weren't too full. That's my good experience of this place. I see other negative reviews, but I guess everyone's situation is different. I've never been to a club that's perfect. I had no issues with security, and I also didn't park in the parking lot. But I didn't see any issues out there. The main headline artist stage time was a few hours after the doors opened, so it was good for me since I got there late. If you have an artist you like performing here, I recommend this place. The parking lot is tiny, overpriced, and so packed that your car's almost guaranteed to get scratched or hit. And don't even get me started on the inside do they even have air conditioning? I was in town with a big group of friends and this place was perfect considering not everyone was 21, although a little apprehensive because of other reviews. It's located in a huge building with an enclosed parking lot. Parking was $10 (cash only) and cover was $25 (card or cash).. pretty pricey for what it is in my opinion. It was pretty empty when we walked in, but soon got busy and SUPER HOT. They had air/fog shoot out which I appreciated after the fact, but it was super strong when it came out. The clientele was very diverse, both younger and older, as well as many many creeps that felt entitled to preying on and grabbing us. Y'all need to up your security because, honestly, a lot of them should have been kicked out. Also, they advertised 3 dance floors, but one was closed and the other two were playing the same music. Prior to coming to La Boom, I read all the Yelp reviews to prepare myself so I could enjoy my night seeing Angel y Khriz. * Decided to arrive in an Uber to save money on parking & to not risk our car getting broken into. (See other reviews for more details on that happening in La Boom's parking lot & street parking). *Spent money on food (3 carne asada tacos for $15 & $20 chicken nachos) which was overpriced but tasted pretty good. It was overpriced yet online there are only 2 dollar signs on the club's profile which means it shouldn't be that expensive. (See other reviews about the ridiculous beer prices). * Waitress was nice but we didn't like that she was pushy because she wanted us to order drinks. We didn't appreciate her pushiness because it was as if she was trying to force us to drink. * Table service was easy to find but not by the main dance floor. This is why we sat in an area where there weren't many people & these workers had nothing to do which is why it was so easy for them to attend to us. * We decided to stay away from security guards since all prior reviews say they are very rude. * Music was good, fun & the club was lively. As the night progresses, it gets very hot, musty & stuffy due to the strong lights & big smoke machines that are inside. * Angel y Khriz didn't perform until 12am which is why I arrived to La Boom @10pm since all previous reviews say that headliners show up super late in the night. The waitresses are really nice. They try to be as fast with the drinks as they can. Had a bad incident with personnel in the front. So for the lack of customer service and the whole ganging up on me for trying to clarify the $20 entrance fee-- I am leaving 1 star. The DJ actually is an old man who plays the same songs every weekend. it sucks but if you're lit you won't really notice but since I don't really drink in this club-- I notice it is the same DJ man and he leaves at 1:40ish and plays the same songs every week. When men are the ones charging, they like to be cheaper with women. I got curious and asked the lady that charged me extra, "Hey so why are you charging a different fee tonight?" And with some attitude she said "It's the weekend, and it starts from Friday-Sunday." It was Friday around 10:45pm and we usually pay less ($10) but because she caught a tone with me and challenged me like I was 5years old, I became hostile and defensive. I felt extremely unsafe. 5 Valley girls decided to drive all the way out to Huntington Park because we longed for a fun night of Spanish dancing. Let me start by saying you can't find clubs like this around Hollywood or Studio City, which is where we normally go if and when we decide to party. Parking was only $5, yay for that! We walk up to the front and are rapidly approached by a nice looking man in a suit, he greets us, checks our IDs, says there is no cover fee for "us ladies" and walks us into the club himself. (I had seen online it's $10 after 10:30pm, it was 11:00pm) We walk in as "Danza Kuduro" was blasting so you know that set the mood! He introduces himself as the owner, asks us what we would like to drink and has an employee walk us over to a table where he shortly returns with a chilled bottle of Grey Goose and some mixers. We were so confused! lol He sits down only for a minute to socialize in a very respectful manner, tells us to have fun and that the bottle "was on him" There was an employee who stood by our section the entire night, kept the table dry, clean and refilled our drinks when necessary! Of course we tipped him afterwards! I was so impressed and appreciative with the way this establishment treated us! 1 bottle of Goose and 5 girls was all it took to have one of the funnest nights I've had in a loooonggg time! We didn't get bothered as much as we thought we would with wall huggers asking us to dance, which was a plus! The music was awesome, thumbs up to the DJ in both rooms! My favorite part was when they threw colorful balloons all over the dance floor, HOW MUCH FUN!!!!
