I personally disagree with a lot of the reviews seen on this restaurant. I have been to numerous…read moreMichelin star restaurants across the world and there is a standard to what you'd expect to receive. Unfortunately, this place disappointed me in the system from the lack of gastronomy / creativity in the food, the pompous service, and the try hard atmosphere. We first were seated late to our table, waited 30+ minutes to receive our wine and amuse-bouche, and then was followed-up with just a series of underwhelming. While the photos may be beautiful, the lack of explosion in my mouth did the rest of the talking. Sorry Chef Sultano, but this did not hit the nail on the head for me. Save your $800 and go elsewhere.

It's…read moreexpensive (obviously) and it's ridiculous to try and find parking in the area, so I suggest walking since it's so close to the Duomo. You are guaranteed to leave being full! The fresh seafood is absolutely the way to go, and the truffle "ice cream sandwich" (I'm calling it that), was one of the most incredible things I've ever eaten. The fish of Sicily, was beautifully displayed with bullseye looking sauces with a jelly overtop and shrimp and octopus on the side. The wine list is extensive and they servers are willing to help you out with a recommendation. Lastly, they are so careful about allergies and will substitute any foods out and make you a unique dish which is something I really appreciated. Go here if you have the money to spend!

Everything was so good until …read more... Excellent tapas style dishes that were fun to eat. The chef who made tapas was excellent. Waiters were polite and great. We also ordered Snapper as the main dish. But, that chef was not good. The skin was perfect, but since the fish slice was thick, it was not fully cooked. The portion close to the skin was dry. The chef probably rushed through, used flame to crisp the skin, and also did not rest it well. It was definitely not sushi-grade fish since we could smell it. Not sure how safe it is to eat such an uncooked fish. They cooked it again (same fish/dish) after we sent it back. It was better and fully cooked. Because of this mishap, we would have just reduced the rating from 5 to 4. But our final rating is 2 because the lady working there (also a cashier) was pretty rude and dismissive of low grade cooking of the fish. She was talking about cooking at 60-70 degrees and that it was Sicilian culture that we won't understand. We gave her chance to apologize. Obviously she was a proud person. She claimed the fish to be fresh. Definitely not fresh. It had a slight smell. The tapas style food we had was clearly fusion. So claiming "culture" as an excuse is clearly gaslighting. We eat fish several times a week - usually bought live and whole. She did not have to use the word "culture". As included below, an Italian should clearly know the difference between culture and cuisine. She looked and treated me like someone who prefers dark skinned people to work for her rather than dine in her establishment. We skipped dessert - thanks to that lady. Translations from English to Italian 1. Culture = Cultura 2. Cuisine = Cucina Do not support this place if you care for such things. PS: we took pictures but decided not to share since we don't want to support such an establishment

We made reservations online and when we arrived we were promptly seated. The room is gorgeous with stone walls and high ceilings. There is mood lighting and a purple ¨lamp¨on each table. Modern white tables and chairs finish off the cool modern vibe. The pictures don't do it justice really a great place to eat. The. Service was excellent. Our waiter spoke very good English and was really knowledgeable about the menu. I'm quite a wine snob but am pretty dumb when it comes to Sicilian wines. I asked him for a recommendation based on my wife's steak order. In my home town Miami thats a license to steal as the most expensive wine would end up on your bill. Instead he brought a wine from the lower price tier, local and amazingly complex. The food is priced the same. With all pastas 12 and secondi (meat and fish) 15. We ordered the cáprese and it was waaay too much. 5 perfect balls of buffalo mozerrella with fresh tomatoes and basil. Very nice. We then had the entrecôte with a side of excellent fries and the pasta with sea urchin. Both dishes, Especially the pasta i would come back for. All in all an excellent dining experience with good food, service and ambiance.

Let me start off this review by saying this was my favorite meal when visiting Sicily. There aren't…read moreenough accolades that I could give to this restaurant. We went to this restaurant after walking out of someplace else. Because it was during the off-season, we had the entire place to ourselves. It is quiet and romantic, and definitely a date night spot. The menu is very authentic and very local. For example, we saw that one of the first courses had donkey sauce. At first, we thought it was a translation error (don't look it up on urban dictionary either!) but then saw that there also was a donkey chop on the menu. It turns out that donkey is a Ragusan specialty; we passed. I ordered the pasta with bottarga sauce and my husband got pasta with lemon sauce. While I love bottarga, I liked my husband's dish even more. Both dishes had wonderfully fresh pasta and were well sauced. The bread that was brought to the table became the benchmark that we used to judge bread for the remainder of the journey. There were three kinds, all of which were homemade: breadsticks, little rolls that are similar to pao de queijo, and a sort-of sourdough. Oh, the carbs were all so lovely. For dessert, I had a cannoli that was the size of flashlight but worth every calorie. The shell was thin and the cream was not too sweet. I can't recall what my husband ordered. My husband had a glass of wine that was lovely. The restaurant has a wonderful selection including wines by the glass. Even though ordered by the glass, a fresh bottle was opened table side complete with wine aerator pourer. Service was lovely; attentive but not overbearing. If this place was local, I would come way more often much to dismay of my jeans. Please visit if you are ever in Ragusa. One of the best dining experiences I have had in years.
