Last friday I was with my work colleagues and we decided to have the last drink in a place "De Heeren van Amstel". We were all inside and then the bouncer decided that one of my colleagues was not welcome there. The rest, we tried to convince him as we were around 15 pax and some of us we were already inside but the reason of the bouncer was nothing but " not tonight" so we all decided to leave. Fair enough: their place, their rules.
But when we were leaving and we were passing right in front of the " Bastille Thorbeckeplein" bar, the bouncers were talking to each other. They told us to " Go to mess around to your fucking countries". I was shocked. I have been living in 3 different countries before the Netherlands and no one told me something like that, ever.
Just wanted to say to the managers of this place that they should not allow this racists behaviours from the staff's side. Most of all when we were doing nothing but having some drinks after work. Just to finish this crappy story I will say that my home is where my taxes are paid. Not to forget, thanks to the expats who are working and living here harming no one and far away from our families and friends, this country is getting richer and better with the mix of so many cultures so please treat us with the respect that we deserve as human beings. read more
