This is a easy choice. Stupendously delicious with generous amounts of sauces in each dish. When…read moreyou are wondering, where is the olive oil or butter for the bread you realize you don't need it because you'll want to dip your bread in the sauces. Just a wonderful harmony of flavors, whether red meats or seafood. What's more impressive to me is they clear your plates quite a few times when you share some entrées and appetizers. If you're lucky to come on a crystal clear day, you'll maybe sit in the patio area under the umbrellas. Order a bottle of their La Orza house white for dirt cheap and your meal is complete. Certain high seasons, you may not be able to get a reservation, however, all the local guides know the owner so ask your tour guide how you can maybe get in.

Great food, but badgered for alcohol 7 times in one hour…read more The food and ambiance were good, but the service was unacceptable. I was dining with my teenage son, and despite ordering a full three-course meal (two appetizers, two mains, and two desserts), our server treated us like we were an inconvenience because we weren't ordering cocktails. There seems to be an unspoken rule here: if you don't order at least two alcoholic drinks per person, you aren't welcome. Our waiter was smug and self-important, pressuring me to order alcohol seven (7) separate times over the course of an hour. When I politely declined, he actually scoffed and told me, "In Spain, everyone has wine with their meals." We had already ordered two Cokes and two bottles of sparkling water, yet it felt like our "value" as guests was tied solely to a liquor quota. It is incredibly off-putting to be lectured on cultural drinking habits while trying to enjoy a meal with my son. If you're looking for hospitality rather than a high-pressure sales pitch, look elsewhere.

Delicious, convenient, and you must try the dessert "almond cream"…read more Both the service and the food is excellent. I had the "bacalao" (cod) and it came with some steam potatoes and a big size shrimp. Recommended

This restaurant came highly recommended by a local shopkeeper in Toledo who said their food is good…read moreand priced well. She´s right. We had the seafood paella and the famous Toledo local specialty, ´´carcamusa´´, it´s a tomato-based marinara type dish that has pork, carrots, tomatoes, onions and green peas stewed into it. It is the most delicious thing I´ve tasted outside of all the tapas and paellas one could have in Spain. You could literally live off just one of these, with a side of bread and you´ll be set for the whole day. The paella was good, better than the one I had in Barcelona, but the other dish was the highlight. The service was very personable. It was just 1 older guy, 1 woman and a chef running the whole thing. The woman runs the bar and the outside tables, the guy serves the inside of the restaurant and the chef comes out every so often to pop his head out and get fresh air. I would recommend eating inside if you don´t smoke and if you want to stay cool since there is A/C. Overall, a great experience. To make it that much better, he served us shots of their local liqueur called ´´Licor the Tomillo´´. A yellow colored thick liquid that goes down smoothly. He said the locals drink it with their coffee, which he served us with ours. No charge! Just a local welcome gift! What a treat! And did I mention it´s located directly across the Monasterio de San Juan de Los Reyes? So you can stuff your face with great food then walk around the Monastery to explore and burn off calories.
