Great food, but badgered for alcohol 7 times in one hour…read more
The food and ambiance were good, but the service was unacceptable. I was dining with my teenage son, and despite ordering a full three-course meal (two appetizers, two mains, and two desserts), our server treated us like we were an inconvenience because we weren't ordering cocktails.
There seems to be an unspoken rule here: if you don't order at least two alcoholic drinks per person, you aren't welcome. Our waiter was smug and self-important, pressuring me to order alcohol seven (7) separate times over the course of an hour. When I politely declined, he actually scoffed and told me, "In Spain, everyone has wine with their meals."
We had already ordered two Cokes and two bottles of sparkling water, yet it felt like our "value" as guests was tied solely to a liquor quota. It is incredibly off-putting to be lectured on cultural drinking habits while trying to enjoy a meal with my son. If you're looking for hospitality rather than a high-pressure sales pitch, look elsewhere.
