Toledo is a small city just a little over 30 minutes by high speed train from Madrid or an hour…read moredriving. The town can be seen in about 4 hours. That's plenty of time to sight see, explore the different view points and grab a bite to eat. We ate at El Trébol which is located at the end of the city closest to the train station. Prices in Toledo are slightly higher given you are in a very touristy area. We enjoyed the tapa sampler and some tintos for lunch. The sampler was hefty and came with croquetas, manchego, paté, ensalada de atún and two stews that are common local dishes. Portions were large!

We ordered drinks. I tried their sangria which was very good. We ordered two of their famous bombas. A potato fried on the outside and hollowed out and filled with spicy meat and potato. It was excellent. I called it a Spanish sloppy Joe! Once we finished those it was past seven so we ordered the grill pork ribs which were meaty and good. The prices were reasonable and our server was really hustling. By the time we left around 8pm there was a line formed waiting for a table. At that point the service did seem to be getting chaotic...
