Good food with great price for lunch special Mon-Fri. Main dish options today were pork or seabass. Main dish plus starter $21 Euro. Very large portions! The seabass was light flakes & tasty. We chose the melon & prosciutto starter which was also good. Patio seating is available in back. Servers speak English.

It was okay. Thought the food would be better. Boyfriend said the veal was OKAY. And my pasta side was plain. Didn't have red sauce at all?? The wine was ok too. Expected better. The place is cool though. Liked the old vault door to bathrooms

Great Steak Tartare and top notch service. We got recommended this place by a superb Champagne producer and we came here for lunch on a sunny Day in June. The restaurant is huge and you get the feeling that this place is used to accompany big tourist groups. This scared me a little but it's all good. This place really delivers! We got seated at the outside terrace. Today's specials and champagne by the glass were written on chalkboards. I opted for a rosé and as always Steak Tartare. The tartare was mixed perfection and served with fries. The size was huge and there was no way to finish it even if I really tried my best. My husband chose a Steak with a Fois Gras sauce that sounded better than it actually was but the meat was tender and good. The little one got a small steak and mashed potatoes. The service was polite, exact and with a real sence of how to act. Not personal at all and it was just what we wanted. It was a great lunch far from the tourist traps found all over Champagne. I would recommend it to everyone looking for great food and a nice selection of wines by the glass.

Came to Epernay on a Sunday and most is closed. Our hotel was able to book us a table at La Banque. It wasn't packed but there was a good amount of people who ended up coming in. The ambiance is ok - at first glance I was impressed then after further looking around it sort of seemed like a facade? The chandeliers are nice, I like the wood tables but paper place mats and clutter take it down a notch. Service - very nice! They realized we spoke English when we arrived and brough us English menus, our server was very attentive. However there was a board of specials that we could see from our seat and didn't notice until after we had ordered. If we had been told about it we likely would have ordered off it. We got a bottle of champagne and it was kept in an ice bucket, every time one of our glasses was almost empty our server was there within seconds to refill for us which was nice. Food - the food was good. I found the beef carpaccio to be over dressed, but my boyfriend loved it. The tuna tartar was wonderful - but Asian inspired? Which felt odd at this class French restaurant. The Parmesan crusted chicken wAs better than I had expected it to be, the mashed potatoes were terribly under seasoned but there was salt at the table and with that addition they were great. Great champagne list from local vintners, the cheapest bottle on the menu was 40€ most averaged 43 - 55€ and the waiter seemed very knowledgable about most all of them. Conclusion - this place is ok, the ambiance is ok the service is good, food is ok. If I was here on another Sunday with nothing else open I would give them my money but if there were more options would probably go somewhere else.

Formerly Banque de France rehabilitated in a Brasserie. Both a Champagne bar and a traditional restaurant, Brasserie la banque has quite the amusing concept. Even the old safe room is now access to commodities. Other than that, the actual restaurant stays dimmed and traditional. Some of the dishes were a hit, others were less of a success. However, authenticity and care were shown in each of them. The great aspect is the extensive list of Champagne from big houses to small producers and from various regions of Champagne. Overall, I'd say it's a warm and cozy place for a casual but lovely diner. The place did seemed quite popular as it was packed on a Monday evening, even with the streets of Épernay being ghostly deserted as soon as the sunshine was gone.

Lovely Ambiance, Excellent Cuisine Situated in an old Bank on the corner of the Avenue de Champagne, Le Bank has a varied menu plus specials for every palate. For vegetarians, ask for salad and vegetables. Service was very attentive. As other restaurants do in this region of France, an amuse bouche was offered before our main course. A rack of lamb was perfectly cooked with eggplant as a tasty garnish. We ordered the truffle ravioli for the table which came with a grilled white fish. A bottle of wine at 25 Euros was a good choice. (People do not bring in their own wines and pay a corkage in France) Street parking was free after 7pm making it very easy. A stroll around the town was a perfect way to end a perfect day. 4.5 stars

I think the biggest problem with La Banque is it definitely falls into the "tourist restaurant" category. We decided to have dinner here as it sounded like an interesting place to try out. We made a booking and arrived. The dining room was quite empty, and I know there is a massive outdoor area (which apparently was fully booked). We sat down to figure out what we wanted for dinner. We had a glass of champagne to start and ended up ordering our starters and mains. Unfortunately, the starters came out before anyone came back to check if we wanted more alcohol. I had the lobster salad and my partner had the foie gras. The salad was really tasty, but the foie gras was a bit disappointing in all honesty. We finally managed to flag down a server to order some wine. For our mains, I had the steak tartare and my partner order the rib eye steak. The tartare was really tasty actually, but the chips were kind of soggy and the salad was quite overdressed. The tartare was also a bit too finely cut and was lacking any sort of texture. The rib eye was over cooked (probably because we're foreign) but tasty. After our mains ended, we thought about ordering dessert. And we waited for a server. And waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. About thirty minutes went by with our finished plates still on the table and no acknowledgment from anyone about anything. So finally we got irritated and went to the bar and paid. Honestly, most of the food was kind of average, and the server was really bad even for what a person would expect service to be in France. Not a very good place, and something I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Order: a potato mousse with apples, raw oysters, Truffle Ravioli on a butternut mash sprinkled with hazelnuts, cod with asparagus and buckwheat. Everything was very light unlike American food that's super heavy. I loved that their ingredients were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Our server was very patient with translating the menu to us. The atmosphere was elegant and tranquil (we were also the first guests for that day so not noisy at all lol)

When you come to Epernay you understand two things.... There will be great food, and there will be…read moreeven better Champagne! Symbiose is both of these things. As a brand new restaurant people need to be patient with the wine list as it improves over time. The foundations are amazing however, and the greatest of wine connoisseurs must appreciate a solid foundation for a wine menu. Symboise has done this with their selections, from affordable common and grower producers to amazing finds like Jacques Selosse. While Selosse is going to run you into the mid 100 euro area it is well worth the investment, since how often are you in Epernay? The second thing that I found charming and great about this restaurant is that the host/server/bartender was the wife of the chef. It is a locally run business by two young people who are actively working hard to make their mark on Epernay through amazing food, service, and wine. They speak very good English by French standards, and my wife and I had no trouble conversing with them both about the restaurant, food, wine, and life. We found out that the Chef went to school in Paris for his culinary diploma, and they had moved to Epernay to establish themselves as a couple after being married about one year ago. Okay.... now that you have ALL that back story (and there is much more I did not share) it is time for the food. You can choose from an assortment of "Pick your own" style Prix Fixe menu. Prices are moderate considering the rest of Epernay, but I can guarantee that their prices will increase as time goes on and people find out how amazing this spot is. The value is absolutely present here. We started with a pumpkin soup for my wife and Foie Gras for me. After completing the Foie Gras (and soaking every last bit of it up off the plate) I struggled through my awful french to ask Justine (the host/owner/server/bartender) for a second plate of Foie Gras served after the main course. She seemed shocked, but I was so excited about the Foie Gras that I couldn't just have one plate. I have had Foie Gras many times and in many places, and this is the best I have had yet! The pumpkin soup was good, however personally when it comes to choosing between the two you should go with the Foie Gras! For the entree we selected two different things again. I chose the Poultry dish that had chicken, and my wife chose the Filet (steak) option. Both were fantastic, and were well executed when it comes to flavors. Nothing that was overpowering, and yet if you don't eat like your in the military (scarfing your food down), then you enjoy the development of so many subtle flavors over your palate. I was impressed with both my wife's and my dish. I would not hesitate to order both again. At this point I ate my second helping of Foie Gras, which was still just as amazing as the first round, and my wife enjoyed the fromage (cheese) selection. The cheeses were well selected, and portion was perfect for a single person. Last but certainly not least was the dessert. We enjoyed a pineapple/fruit dessert with vanilla ice cream, and a chocolate dessert with mascarpone. There were many other details that I am now forgetting, but if you are still reading you understand that its possible my mind had just been blown and I had forgotten the details. The desserts were amazing, and the perfect cap on a great dinner. Along with the beginning we opted to order the Ratafia de Champagne (which was sourced from a grower just 20 minutes driving to the south of Epernay), and it was incredible. We opted to not have champagne since we had a magnum waiting for us when we got back home (I know ... sometimes life is just hard!). By the end of the meal we got to converse with the chef and his wife who were the only ones working in the restaurant, and I can only imagine when it is busy they are working their tails off! Luckily Sunday is a slower evening to enjoy dinner, but with that said I would advise anyone to have a little bit of grace when reviewing this place understanding the amount of work, effort, and energy these two are putting into their restaurant. Bottom Line: These are two young people who have a passion to bring exquisite food, wine, and atmosphere together so that anyone willing to experience a meal at their restaurant will leave with a full belly, great memory, and changed outlook on what a meal can mean. I will never hesitate to recommend, come back, or sing the praises of this restaurant! I thank Maxime (the chef, and Justine (the server/bartender/host) for an experience I will not forget. Sincerely, Brad & Alex

The style and decor of this place is a bit dated, but I'm not sure if it's old or purposely done that way. When we walked in, it was empty, but it filled up quickly. I think we were pretty much ahead of all the crowds by 30 minutes everywhere we went. You have the option of 4 or 5 courses, cheese course is included with either choice. I think every table we overheard asked about portion sizes and whether they should choose 4 or 5. 4 courses is plenty of food, but you should choose the 5 cause you're in Champagne, so why not. The sauce for my langoustines was a bit too fishy for my taste, but my fish and beef dishes were both really good. And tart for dessert was delicious. The French really know how to do pastries. They don't do wine parings, so we were recommended a bottle and it went very well with the food. We did learn that the champagne that is aged in oak goes better with food. Overall a very good dining experience.

The menu is in French, so pull out your translation app, our waitress spoke passable English, which was great, because we spoke passable French. My wife ordered a farm salad with roasted chicken. There was so much chicken in the salad, she couldn't finish it. I decided to try the French version of Barbecue pork ribs with a side of fries. (Don't call them French fries. And don't ask for French Onion soup. You wouldn't order an American hot dog). The ribs weren't exactly Texas bbq, but they were quite good. These were not "fall off the bone". Quite tough to separate with a butter knife. But the glaze and flavor were very good. The only disappointment was the fries. Limp, Lukewarm. McDonald's has nothing to fear.
