One of the best on camera and self tape audition classes I have taken from David Rountree. I literally learned things I have never seen or heard in other well known classes in Los Angeles. David genuinely cares about the craft and his students. Highly recommend taking your career to the next level! Even if you are already working actor that books...watch your game level up so much more!! David Banks commercial class is super informative and had also improved my confidence and improv skills! Super safe and clean studio..get ready to worrrrkk! read more

5 stars for space rental! I hosted 15 women in the conference room comfortably and everyone loved the space. Ideal location with ample parking in the area. We loved the easy access to the restrooms and how our room had a door so we could make it more private for ourselves. Shalayna, Jeremy, and Andrew were all very helpful with everything leading up to the event. Very friendly and great service. The space was clean and spacious. We also had access to the smart TV and the air conditioner. I highly recommend them for space rental! read more

This is an amazing studio! Rountree really cares about his students. Great place to learn the craft of Acting behind the camera. He also gives great opportunities to his students! read more

absolutely horrible acting studio. I had the most horrific experience attending classes there, rude & intrusive behavior from the students & the teacher was just as bizarre & incompetent. I had to cancel the class because of the nasty experience & requested a prorated amount to be refunded after canceling the classes. They refused to give me any refund, so basically they disrespected me then refused to pay my money back. I wouldn't recommend. read more

They tried to pump my 13yr old daughter up to believe she can be an actress after these classes in the ridiculous amount of money 2,700 for an teacher to help her learn more about to acting! But the big picture hits you in the face when he says we had 7 people who auditioned for acting in my baby got picked because she's so smart in remembered her scrip with in 5 minutes In it was on the spot! Soooo if she was picked in you liked her why dose she have to pay for anything!! So in my eyes it's a scam big scam!! Uno nobody wants to hurt there child so if they want this any parent would give there child the world if they could this is a big scam sorry for the long but real review that I'm sure everyone is looking for read more

I love this Studio and all the people that are part of it! Director David Rountree has experience as both an Actor and a Director so he offers insights that you won't find in a regular acting class. Everything is on camera so you get a footage after every class which is great for learning and for your demo reel. Going to these classes every week is like going to work, you are shooting your own movie every week with a whole crew and you always learn something new. I have learned everything here, from breaking the script to acting on camera. My acting career just blossomed since I started this class. I will be forever be grateful for David, Jeremy and all these wonderful people that I now consider my second family. So YES, I definitely recommend LA Acting Studios! read more

I paid for the Work On-Camera, On-line Option 1 I wanted to try it out. Stuck in lockdown there isn't really much acting classes to take right now. First week of the class went fine. It was a bit confusing because there was no schedule of when I would be receiving the class materials via email. (Issue fixed) week 2 comes- I receive the scene for that week. Friday afternoon comes I'm wondering why haven't I received the advanced scene breakdown and the link to the live video. So I email them. Saturday they finally send me the materials. Week 3- I receive the scene. Again I wait for the the advanced scene breakdown to be sent. Friday night still nothing. So I email them again. I did not receive the advanced science breakdown but I am emailed the link to the live video Sunday morning. I was told that Monday's the scene for that week was supposed to be emailed to me. Thursday's I will be emailed the pdf of the advanced scene breakdown. Friday's I will be emailed the link to the live video. I was was not being sent the materials till days later after emailing them several times throughout the 4 weeks. And I was was told that I would need a gmail to access the materials. That everything was being sent to everyone else taking the class because they have gmails. Which I have and I have been able to watch the videos through the emails they sent to me through my yahoo, days later than the days the materials were meant to be sent out. It doesn't make sense how I receive the Monday scene email the correct day, but I am emailed the other stuff days after the other students receive the material. Some students have spoken to Director Roundtree in the live video about not receiving the materials as well. I was told that this is an advanced acting class. That I would find it difficult because I have no experience. To be honest this class seems pretty easy to me. I understood everything being discussed in the live video just fine. For an advanced acting class I thought they would be more on top of their students and what materials need to be sent out to the students but they weren't. I learned some new stuff. But for my first class with this school I would have liked to experience it for what I paid for. read more

The concept is cool but ultimately they don't really care too much about what your scene looks like for a reel. They leave you with unedited footage and when you pay the extra couple hundred they do it so quickly that it turns out pretty bad... read more

I'm not a pathological yelper but This acting studio deserves a standing ovation. I was extremely skeptical when it came to investing in acting classes. However, after many nights of research and some internal battle, LA Acting classes kept magnifying every time I came across thier website. As soon as I committed to thier classes, I was immediately welcomed by the team. I love that they take a personal approach to get to know you as a person before the class. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting David but Jeremy and his team were very humble and approachable. They're extremely professional and attentive to every single student which I found was Soo FREAKIN AMAZING. Andrew shared his little tricks of the trade that literally will take anyone's acing to the next level. If you are serious about acting then I HIGHLY suggest you consider LA Acting School. They have an exceptional way of making you feel like a trailblazer in your own way. read more

My teenage daughter learned so much at her first on camera acting class with LA Acting studios. Andrew was so kind and had a very specific and clear way of giving direction. As someone transitioning from theater to film acting, the technical instruction was extremely valuable to her. It was so great for her to work on her scene being filmed weekly on a real set. And now she will have a professionally edited clip to put on her online acting profiles. Everyone was very professional. This class and the relationships she created during it were a really great experience and I would highly recommend it to any actors. read more

I've audited two classes and am definitely signing up. David is really personable, so that helped put me at ease. His exercises were non-nonsense, and his feedback was immensely valuable. My second time there was for the auditions workshop, and it was beyond helpful. The whole thing was treated as an actual audition. We had time to read the breakdown and the sides, we stayed in a waiting room until called, and performed once in front of the camera. Then he explained what he was looking for in our performances, pointing out the information contained in the breakdowns and the way the script was written. All of that information was there to guide us into the delivery the casting director (in this case, David) wanted. As soon as I can afford to this spring, I'm signing up. read more

I LOVE LA Acting Studios! David and his team member Jeremy are really nice, genuine guys who are here to help you! David has been in the industry for quite some time not only as an actor, but also as a director. He definitely is able to see both sides of the coin and is able to give you amazing insight on your acting styles and what industry people are looking for these days. I am currently enrolled in the on camera class for the second time in a row and I'm finding it extremely helpful. I have done films before, but not in LA. I am learning a huge amount about how to make myself look my absolute best on camera as well as how to sell myself as an actor to a potential casting director. David has already taught me so many things about being on camera and I honestly can't wait for more! ALSO- he often uses the people from his classes in his projects!! The price is unbeatable, especially in such a saturated market. Check them out! read more

I signed up for David's class for a month as a tuneup since I feel one can develop bad habitats without the occasional guidance from a professional. I didn't expect to get such value considering I wasn't charged a arm and a leg compared to other acting schools. From day one you are working, we all received the same sides and David really broke down the scene. Finding the hidden crumbs from character descriptions and how to make the strongest choice. You work in front of a camera so you are taught how to move for film. You work with tv and film scripts to best prepare you for that world. If you just landed in La La Land the this class is perfect for you since you can use the footage for your reel. I'd still be going if I hadn't committed to a Improv Intensive for the summer. Maybe it's not too late to get a sugar momma so I can continue going. KIDDING!!! Give the school a spin, no ragrets! read more

Absolutely love it here!!! I have been to a few classes over the years and this is definitely a favorite!! Very hands on!! Thanks David read more

When it comes to quality acting coaches, David Rountree is sure an AWESOME one! Made for all levels, this on-camera class is designed to help everyone from the novice to the more advanced actor. A typical class session works on helping the actor explore new techniques of auditioning, mastering the wide, and close up shots. You actually get footage after every class which will become handy learning material. in addition, there is a focus on various types of acting techniques. There is so much to learn! As a director, producer, and actor himself, David has had years of experience in the industry. He is also very current and in the know of upcoming shows and feature films being made. The studio itself is nice in a good location in NoHo. Would def recommend! read more

I audited David Rountree's class in February 2017 and have been taking classes there ever since. He is so knowledgeable, patient and hands on. He really takes the time to get to know each actor individually and makes sure that we all get exactly what we need out of the class to grow as actors. David Banks' commercial class here is also phenomenal as well. He really gives you the tools to make it as a commercial actor. The studio has several very professional sets, a self tape room, and so much more! Plus you get all your video footage from each class to learn and grow from! If you haven't taken a class here, I highly recommend it cause you're missing out! Thank you LA Acting Studios and staff for all that you do! read more

I was aimlessly taking on Hollywood until I stumbled onto LA Acting Studios. Since I have been here, I have booked the lead male role in my first SAG feature, started Dialogue Battles, gained recognition from my peers and booked many smaller projects including a Tucker Gun leather commercial. David took a week to help me prepare for the Sag feature I booked. Jeremy has bent over backwards to help me grow as an actor. I truly found a home and a family here! I would stand next to these people in any battle, they are more than just friends, teachers and mentors! They are passionate and compassionate people working together to help every single actor here grow! I would give them 50 stars if I could! read more

I moved to LA 7 years ago and I truly wish I knew about LA Acting Studios back then as I wouldve been a lot further in my career. Having studied here for the past few months I've truly learned so much from David including breaking down a scene and many other informative things an actor must know when on set. Not only have I grown as an actor just in a few months, but every week I walk away with footage and am able to see where I have improved and also where I can improve' not to mention we get to act on set and utilize props, etc. Most classes just work on scenes which is great, but getting to truly be in the scene on set changes the game and am so grateful I found this class. Also the class is very affordable and that is a major bonus. Truly love this class and highly recommend it. I have studied at many schools here in La and this is one of my Top schools to train at. read more

I definitely recommend taking commercial and theatrical classes here. I have learned so much so far and it will really take your acting to the next level! read more

Not only has the class provided an outlet for the starving Actor to mold and shape his or her craft, but it has quietly and constructively helped shape us all into more understanding, empathetic people. You hear it so often: acting is listening. The concept initially sounds quite trivial, but as soon as you witness the contrast between self preservation and complete selflessness on screen, the sooner you realize how self-centered and contrived your performance has been in the past. David removes the Hollywood Ego and leads his class from landlocked headiness to observational listeners, and the difference is profound. Movies should suck you in, not spit you out, and thanks to this class, I am only now beginning to understand. read more

Just like anything, one was master the basics. David Rountree is my first acting class and I'll tell you this, learn the ins and outs of the craft and build your confidence through on set practice allows for growth and expansion of skills and experience. Amazing! I've taken 9 classes in the last 6 months. You have David Rountree , an award winning director who is so passionate about helping you improve. It's actually mind boggling on how much he really cares . It's rare to see someone going 100% at ALL times. You truly learn the art of story telling in the on camera scene study class. You learn how to act on camera and put up scenes which you can get demo reel footage after. I've had agents and mangers compliment the quality of the demo reels they produce here. Commercial class is fun. The self tapes always come out great and super affordable. If you're new to acting, Jeremy has a great workshop in which he helps you start your acting career with a road map and tips. The whole staff is amazing and just feels like home. I train at other places too. However, when it comes to scene study and acting for film, it seems like most stuff out there is just a water downed version of what is taught here. As I spend way more at other places and learn less than what I do at La Acting Studios, I'm making it more and more like home here. read more

David Rountree is an amazing teacher. My first experience with this class was an audit and I learned so much about myself as an actor simply from listening to him speak that I knew I had to come back for more. Learning do's and don't's for everything from a cold-read audition to filming a full-on scene, this class will prepare you as an actor for film. Personally, my confidence has soared from auditioning to performing. If you don't learn anything from this class, then you either aren't paying attention or you're not applying the lessons learned. This is one of the best, if not THE best acting classes available. David truly cares about you as an individual actor and will do whatever he can within his power to help make you successful. Too many people in Hollywood are in it for themselves but David is in it for you. He's more than an acting coach, he's a trustworthy friend. read more

This place is run by a great group of down to earth people, with a resume of solid work at really reasonable pricing. The best part is everything is shot on video. So you can see what the instructors saw and why they gave you the notes they did. It takes all the guess work out of what your trying to do as actor vs. what comes across on camera and in auditions. After a few classes with them, I had the reel and skills to book several gigs, including a substantial role in a feature film. read more

Great School- I am very happy with this studio since joining. No matter what level, or how talented you are as an actor I believe you can be unpretentious and learn something. LA Acting Studios is just the place you need to be humble, work hard, and get better. The teacher, David Rountree is outstanding, and his approach to teaching an actor has added tons of value to my career. His approach is exactly what tools I think actors need to improve. The management(Jeremy) is helpful and accommodating when organizing what you need for your development. Its affordable and the space is a save environment for growth. This studio is an excellent space to explore, create and become better at your craft. Each week you will get your scene on video so that you can take the direction from class and then watch how it applies to your work that next week. David Rountree is an amazing acting coach. I've been in his on-camera scene study class for a couple months and I've learned so much. David provides creative direction to help actors improve. He teaches actors how to avoid pitfalls in auditions and when on camera. It's also helpful that you're able to see videos of the performance from all the students in his class, and see how their performances improve after getting direction from David. I'm a firm believer that we as actors should always be actively training. As every good athlete does. Ongoing scene study classes, workshops, showcases, coaching sessions for auditions...whatever...just keep at it. The best thing about David Rountrees class is that you are not only training with an outstanding director but you are also getting something extra in return...your footage! Every week he sends you what you worked on the week before so you can see what you are actually doing and see how the scene evolves week to week as he works with you. I was even able to use some of the footage for my demo reel. You can't beet that. Oh wait...yes you can...he also brings in special guest speakers ranging from writers, producers, actors, ect...I was lucky enough to have been given a scene from a writer that was sitting in watching the class. To top it all off David passed along my info to another director who ended up bringing me in to audition for a film. His partner Jeremy is a doll to deal with. Very kind, informative, patient and generous. Don't think twice...take this class...I know you'll love it! Jessica Pacheco read more

I don't normally leave reviews but David is awesome and I am really enjoying his class! He brings in guest speakers such as working actors, producers, managers, and casting directors in the industry. This is in addition to the tips and advice you get from him as a director who has directed multiple feature films and projects. This is the first acting class I have taken in LA and I decided on David's class after auditing several other classes (some well known). I just felt like this was the class for me and I can tell you with certainty that I made the right decision. read more

La acting studio in North Hollywood is a state-of-the-art facility with technologically advanced light, sound and film for your beginning and ongoing training needs in Acting. Since every scene you do is recorded, the Acting Studio helps you greatly appreciate what you would look like on the Silver Screen. This way you can also monitor your progression. Instruction is given by award-winning Director and award winning Actor, David Rountree. He is bar none, one of the best in the business. He really cares for all his students success, and I feel very fortunate to know him. He is also well connected in the Industry so he's always inviting other Directors/Producers/Managers/Writers and Agents. I have even met some writers that are taking his class. He is always looking to find work opportunities for his students. Nestled in the heart of North Hollywood near a lot of restaurants, theaters and food shopping places, I sometimes try to take advantage of that. Maybe hit up a nice nearby restaurant for dinner before or get my groceries at Ralphs once class is over. Very convenient location with ample parking around. LA Acting Studio is one of the best places to go and practice your craft. Currently, they offer Monday or Thursday. Currently I'm in Monday class. I wish I had time to go on both days though--it is so much fun! Sign up with Jeremy the main organizer and a really nice guy there via internet or payment arrangements, if needed. They even give discounts for any referrals. This Acting Studio really understands the needs and struggles of all Actors. Thank You! read more

I'm going here because I don't see this company on Glassdoor. I worked for them as a video editor and the pay is atrocious. They pay $40 for a 30-60 second video, and claim that it will take 1-2 hours to complete. However, when I work on it my supervisor tells me to not rush it, because it needs to look great. I end up working on this for over 6 hours. I talked to an editor that's been there a long time and he says he can get around 3-4 videos done a day, and that this is only one of the his gigs. The point is, they are getting away with below minimum wage payment with these terrible flat fee payments for editors. read more
