Another great boulangerie. This place is slightly larger than the one down the street with a…read moreslightly wider selection. It gets a cheaper rating but I thought the prices were very comparable to the other boulangeries in the neighborhood.Again they had great croissants (I tried them at every boulangerie we visited) and their large macaron "sandwiches" were also delicious (although not my MOST favorite of the ones we tried in Paris). This place was also just a few steps from our apartment so we visited it a lot as well. None of the women that served us during the week spoke English but again, you don't need much in a boulangerie. The service was always friendly and efficient. Often this place was busy but service was quick. No outdoor seating, and they were open until 8pm which was awesome. Later in the day you'll find that pastries and bread are not as fresh but even though we got macaron "sandwiches" at 7pm and they seemed a little damp from the fresh fruit in them, the taste was delicious. The outer shells of the macarons were slightly tough but the overall texture wasn't bad. the berries (we tried frambriose and fraise, or raspberry and strawberry) were incredibly fresh and tasty. I'm sure if we had purchased them earlier in the day they would have been even better. We also had the coffee eclairs and they were amazing!!! I don't care that much for eclairs as I do no like the type of bread used for them, but these were good enough that I'd get them again. The filling was rich and the coffee taste was outstanding.

I tried to try as many of their items as possible, and I still feel like I have a long way to go. Many mornings, I find myself ordering croissants--all of them were so fresh and good! Their selection of desserts is AMAZINGGG, and they all taste so good! I discovered the Opera cake the last day before they closed for vacation, and I was so sad that I didn't try it sooner! This instantly became my favorite. I also like the rest of their cakes and desserts, so don't be afraid to try any of those. The only thing that I suggest you find somewhere else to try is their macarons. They were OKAY at best. I really love their salads too--pasta salad and tuna salads, etc. Their sandwiches were not too bad either, but I'm not a big fan of baguettes, so I guess I can't judge them as accurately. This place really brings back a lot of memories. I really miss this place! Tu me manques Paris!

The unfiltered fresh apple cider they sell from a NW France orchardist was really good. Gave it another try a couple days later when we needed a snack and their hazelnut chocolate chocolate chip cookie was omg level- not too sweet, with dark cocoa powder mixed in with the dough. Large chips and easily identifiable nut pieces, soft chewiness that was due to being baked properly, not from being undercooked :) Their raspberry macaron was the size of the inside of my palm with a delicate shell and jammy creamy filling, best size to price ratio in Paris. They do a brisk business @ 7:30am with a line up. Afternoon/ gouter hours were more mellow.

Since I can't speak French, I asked our hotel concierge to help us with making a reservation about a month ahead. We went for lunch and we were seated by the window. Loved our table but the only way for the inside people to get out to go to the bathroom or something was to move the entire table, which made it a bit tricky. But heck, we're here for their steak and frites! And we ordered their smaller sized steak with fries that was part of their lunch combo as well as one order of their original steak au poivre. They both used the same amazing pepper sauce but the cut of the meat was slightly different. We ordered the meat medium and the meat was very tender. The steak itself was not the type where it melts in your mouth good but I think the star of this dish is their amazing pepper sauce. Man, I ended up licking the plate in the end. It was so good. The appetizers and the desserts were also good but really, the pepper sauce is what you come here for. I am definitely coming back. For that sauce.

I need to go back soon. Hubby ordered the steak tartare, which came with crispy fries and a simple green salad -- classic, no-nonsense, and absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and efficient, the kind of old-school Parisian hospitality that's warm without fuss. Now, fair warning: they don't answer their phone, and getting a reservation can be tricky. But if you show up right when they open on a weekday, you might just snag a table -- that's what we did. It's a little out of the way, but trust me, it's worth every minute (and every euro of the taxi ride). Our total came to around USD 120, and the bill came with a couple of adorable little canelés on the house. A perfect Parisian meal from start to finish.
