This is a hidden gem: a lovely bakery located in a small street in the 12eme arrondissement that proposes delicious pastries with original flavors. The pastries are masterly executed, there are both traditional French pastries, such as eclairs and co, and wonderful original creations that mix French traditional fare with Asian ingredients, such as mango, osmanthus, green tea, black sesame, litchi etc. My favorite ones are BW, light white mousse with black sesame filling, Fei, a green tea genoise and adzuki jam creation, Tasha, a play on litchi that feels like eating a litchi cloud. I'm looking forward to try the aptly named puits du souvenir that contain a chocolate mousse with osmanthus (the flower that gives the name to the place) pear and walnuts.
The prices are from 3 euros to 5,50 ca. There are also big cakes and made to order celebrations cakes. You can also eat there while drinking a jasmine or osmanthus tea, the place is super cozy with wooden chairs, nice dishes and pastry magazines to browse while waiting for the tea/coffee. The owner is very nice.
It's totally worth the trip if you don't live in the neighborhood! read more
