But the person who normally cuts my hair has been on vacation for about 3 weeks and counting. That place doesn't really cater to my kind of hair so I normally do all the work (wash, detangle, blow dry and straighten) except the trim before I get there. I needed a trim and really did not want to do all the prep work myself this time plus travel an hour away for it. It was time for someplace nearby. I searched online and saw ill town salon was in business for over 25 years and had numerous great reviews and the photos from customers looked very well done. Tried this place and was not disappointed . I booked an appointment online which was very seamless and convenient. The salon was very nice and clean. I got there at 3:00 on the dot for my appointment and they started my hair right away. It normally takes me and exhausting 4 hours to do my own hair and I dread the task every time. I was expecting to be in the salon alllll day but she had me in and out in 2 hours! I am so impressed with the results. I got a silk press and there's really no other way to describe the feeling of my hair except SILK! I can run my fingers through it. It looks like it's not even my hair it looks like the bundles hair or something . It moves when I turn my head. I got a trim of my layers too. I was worried about how much would need to be cut off since I hadn't had a trim in about a year. She did a through job trimming without leaving me looking like Dora the Explorer . My hair still has length but no more split ends and my layers look beautiful . I don't go to salons often but next time I go to one it's definitely gonna be here.

So let me tell you that from the minute I walked in I felt taken care of. No pretentiousness, but a real chill vibe, and a staff that knew what they were doing. Joelle was super chill and confident that she could flip the script. I got there at 12 and left at 5pm, it didn't even seem that long because these ladies really make you feel comfortable. The color lift is a long process and I was afraid of having uneven tones, but once I had my hair washed I was extemely pleased. I asked for a V shaped hair cut with long bangs, I got what I wanted and I have washed my hair since and it still feels soft. Even with all the torture my hair was put through, I believe it was that special hair martini that was applied to. Loved the presentation of the martini, but I appreciate the softness and managibnility it provided my hair. It was a mix of hair toner and conditioner. I love my hair and the price was fair too. The truth is I've lived in NJ for about a year now and can honeslty say I found my new hair dresser. I mean this is a big deal, a big piece of my life was missing, but now complete.
