Before yesterday I didn't really have any huge complaints. Last night the employees locked…read morecustomers out before closing time. I tried to get in about 7 minutes before they closed and the door was locked. I could see the girl ringing people up and there were other customers inside. When they would exit she would unlock the door, let them out and lock it again. I wouldn't complain about this or give this poor review if it wasn't true. When I called to ask for a manager today to complain, surprise, surprise the same two girls were working. Natalie and Nancy. Natalie is nasty. She asked why I needed to speak with a manager and when I told her she started arguing with me about what time they closed. I KNOW what time it was because I looked at my phone! It wasn't 7pm yet but the door was locked. She got really defensive, argumentative, and then she started calling me "honey" - in a rude, sarcastic, unprofessional way. This place clearly lacks professional staff and I was perfectly happy to walk over to Target and give them my money last night instead. My hair doesn't know the difference between Target's curling iron or Sally's. I will never go back to this store again. Yeah, I was aggravated that they closed early but the reason why I won't shop there again is because of how the girl treated me today. She's rude AND she's a liar. I know what time I was there last night. I don't like to shop where the employees are liars. Why would I trust her recommending beauty products if she can't even tell time?

This is a newer store. I have gone to this store a few times now the people working there are very…read morehelpful. Great selections of stuff this isn't considered a "bigger" store so they don't get all the different nail polish collections. I found this out last week when I stopped in. I was on the search for some of the China Glaze holiday polishes that I have not gotten yet. They only had the sets and not the individual polishes like the Franklin Park store has.

This location is kinda dumpy. If you can go to one of the Woodfield or Oak Brook locations instead,…read moredo that. I wanted to build my own Anastasia eyeshadow palette, but sadly like half of the display slots were empty, and the shadows they did have on display were gouged up and/or just empty pans (dude, switch those out). This was the case with a good portion of the displays throughout the store. How's a girl supposed to swatch if everything is missing?! They also don't carry a lot of the brands that other locations have, and I wasn't thrilled with the customer service. Essentially, the woman at the counter made it clear that she didn't believe me about not having collected my free birthday gift yet. Listen - I'm fine with not getting the gift, but I spend so much money at Sephora (VIB Rouge), and you can see on my account that I have like 3000 unused Beauty Insider points. I'm not a freeloader. I asked her what the gift was because I thought for a second that maybe I really did collect it and just forgot, and all she said was "Kat Von D", so I had to ask her to elaborate. I could tell she just thought I was lying because she got really short with me after that, so I just left it alone and paid. It was bizarre and I felt like she thought I was some kind of scammer, trying to steal something that was free to begin with. Whatevs. Maybe I'll get my birthday gift next year after spending another $2000 at the store.

I have to admit, at first I balked at the concept of a Sephora being squeezed into a department…read morestore. I was used to a blinding display/array of a gazillion products that I never knew I needed, a bunch of sales associates either stalking me endlessly or ignoring me completely, and sucking up vast amounts of time trying to decide which of the gazillion products were actually best for my needs. Or even worse, if you see my Sephora Old Orchard review, sales associates giving me horrible advice. Then came Samantha, the best Sephora associate there probably is on the entire planet - and quite possibly the prettiest. She alone is responsible for this 5 star review. You see, I have needs. A lot of them. Function, budget, and pretty things. While I am a sucker for the last thing, the previous two keep my spending in line these days. I no longer have the frivolity of wasting money on products that don't suit my needs and cost me too much to find out that they don't suit my needs. I walked into this Sephora and immediately was struck by how well organized it was, and condensed in a space much smaller than a regular Sephora store. While that might mean that they don't carry everything a regular store does, I believe that actually worked to my advantage in not overwhelming me with sights, scents, and sales associates. I told Samantha what my needs were and she addressed them all with amazing precision. She was able to suggest everything from cleansers to treatments to fragrances to makeup - all based on my needs - and I gotta tell you, she nailed everything perfectly. I am in love with my current skin-care regimin - that is actually yielding results, and all of my pretty things since acquired at her suggestions. If not for Samantha, I would not have reached VIB status with Sephora this year -when you spend $350 in one year. So, thank you for that! With this location being closest to where I live anyway, I don't see the need for visiting another.
