Fantastic food tucked away on a quieter side street in Lucca. Despite the location, this place is super popular, so don't forget to make a reservation. We stopped by a few hours before opening and were lucky enough to reserve a table, as many people were turned away later.
What we ordered:
-Gnocchi with zucchini cream and wood-smoked cheese: the texture of these gnocchi were very different than others we had in Italy, and we weren't sure if that was intentional or not. My husband really enjoyed this, while I thought this was okay. Too subtle of a flavor for me.
-Ravioli in truffle sauce: I wish I could get back on a plane to Italy right now just to eat this. The truffle was strong (too strong for my truffle-hating husband), and I was in heaven. The ravioli were perfectly cooked. This deserves 5 stars alone.
-Roasted pork ribs: We actually ordered this by accident, not realizing it was ribs, but it was a happy mistake. These were delicious! The plate comes with 3 very large pork ribs, which was just enough pork for us. Crispy on the outside, tender and well-seasoned on the inside.
-Tiramisu: Light and perfect.
With the exception of the gnocchi, everything was wonderful, and the prices were cheaper than we expected. This was one of the cheapest dinners we had in Italy, yet the quality was great. Would enthusiastically recommend to anyone coming to Lucca! read more
