La Ferme A Dédé, Grenoble, France ( Gare location) Date of…read morevisit : July 25th, 2024 My to go restaurant when I go "home", almost always my first meal when I am back. Unfortunately, while the service is still great, the food is just not as good as it used to be. ATMOSPHERE/DECO Typical Alps/mountain décor, the restaurants decoration is very cool with ski, old farming equipment on the wall. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Lot of windows and light. SERVICE Very friendly and fast, our waitress was also funny and helpful. They have several wait staff speaking foreign languages as well. PRICE Price was good for the area. Dinner for 4 with drinks and wine was under $150. FOOD Sadly, it was not as good as it used to be. While my go to order, hanger steak with morel sauce was still excellent (and I highly recommend it), my dad and brother fondue was just not good at all. Not very cheesy and taste like cornstarch (or other thickener agent), the charcuterie plate for the fondue was ridiculously small with sub-par quality meats. Dessert was also not as good as in the past, the profiteroles puff pastry was likely frozen and harder than I like. The ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream on top were excellent. MISCELLEANOUS There is no parking close by so keep that in mind. They do have English speaking staff and I do believe I saw an English menu. They do have AC but it's not very strong (at least for Americans lol). Bathroom was clean. La note de Sebo Atmosphere/Deco 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 3.5/5 Price 4.5/5 Misc. 5/5 OVERALL 4/5

TL;DR: Loved raclette so much I came back twice in a week :)…read moreFair warning, this is a slightly biased review as this was my first taste of this new eating experience that is raclette Our table ordered the raclette (min 2 people) and each of our plates included charcuterie, some boiled/steamed potatoes (communal), and a green salad (communal) ...and of course...the raclette! The charcuterie meats were nice thin cuts with great flavor and the smokiness paired super well with the melty salty cheese along with the soft pillowy potatoes Scraping the heated melty cheese onto the plate and quickly enjoying the combination of flavors, temperatures, and textures was so exciting and fun! The wine (Crozes-Hermitage for local regional wine) was excellent, as well Santé, Dédé!

I came here 2 nights in a row. First solo, and then with friends because I'd enjoyed it so much…read more Firstly, the atmosphere is lovely. The restaurant has a humble exterior (largely blocked by gelato customers), but once you descend the stairs into the dining area you are in a sheek, romantic, cellar. Intimately small but comfortable. The walls are lined with stone and endless wine bottles. The starters were all quite good. We had the snails, squid, and cheese plait. As a bonus, my waitress recommended an excellent wine to pair with the squid. It was spot on. My group shared the beef and tartafelle (forgive my spelling). The beef was succulent, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I had no idea what to expect with the second dish but it was delicious and I would certainly order again. The prior night, I had the bakes camembert when eating solo. The dish is exactly as described. It's tasty, but I'd recommend it for a group since eating an entire block of melted cheese solo is challenging. Last but not least, the wait staff were wonderful! We really enjoyed chatting with our 2 waitresses, who went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and our election of drinks. As a tourist, you really hope to stumble on a gem like this were the locals charm you and really guide your dining experience. If ever back in Nice, i'll certainly go again!

Also note there is no cell service or WiFi service in the restaurant. Nice ambiance in the restaurant and away from the hustle and bustle of Nice. We ordered the squid, Foie Gras and Filet Mignon. All 3 were very good though I am not a fan of the Fois Gras but it came with a nice salad and bread. The squid was seasoned well and cut thin and flash fried. The filet was sliced and cooked perfect The potatoes were great and also nice salad came with it. Service was ok. Prices Moderate.
