Decently priced sandwiches (around €4) with great variety. My favorite is the Greek sandwich with ciabatta bread. Fast.

My wife settled on the beef stew with stoemp, I had the confit of beef chuck with a side of fries. They were both very tasty, the servings were perfect for normal appetites and the meal came with bread, and salad as well. We really enjoyed it, in retrospect I wish we had ordered a beef dish and something else, both dishes we had were excellent (the confit of beef practically fell apart with my fork) but the tastes were similar. Oh well, maybe next time. Highly recommended.

Stumbled upon this really cute restaurant when my partner and I were trying to find Monday brunch…read morespots in mid-July 2022. We walked around the block a bit, but could not find a spot that really caught out eye. After a quick Google search around where we were, we ended up chosing this place because we loved the name. The interior of the restaurant definitely screams "Instagram-worthy" but it felt on brand. I mean, it's a restaurant that features avocados! Well, I ordered a bun burger (the "buns" are actually avocado halves) and it was definitely a very creative and delicious choice. It definitely was not as ~basic~ as an avocado toast. In fact, I was pleasantly shocked at how full I was after the meal. Only thing that I will critique were the "nachos" that came on the side. When I hear "nachos," I think of a pretty heavily loaded plate of chips and loads of toppings... or is that because I'm just thinking of Americanized nachos? I was laughing at the singular beans that were neatly placed on top of the small globs of sour cream (see picture). Overall, I'm very glad that we stumbled upon this place. Wish this was in more places around me. I hope to happily stumble upon restaurants like this soon.

If you want to try Belgian food with reasonable prices then this was one good option in Brussels…read more I arrived early for Friday night dinner and the restaurant was just over half full with lots of available seating. While the register states No Cards one of the servers told the table next to mine not worry when they didn't have enough euros. Only a drink menu was provided and the dishes being served that day were handwritten on moveable boards or posted on the wall. I had on my list a couple to try but finally went with the Belgian carbonades à la biere which was beef stew with mashed potatoes in a dark gravy made with beer. The plate was quite generous and much appreciated since I devoured it. I enjoyed the creaminess of the potatoes swirled with gravy but the meat could've been a tad bit more tender. Service was good. I think everyone on the floor stopped by my table for one reason or the other. Ambiance was casual and looked like many people were taking their time over their meals. When finished you need head to the register to settle the tab. I paid in cash. Worth a return visit.

The veggies tasted good, but I didn't care for the yogurt dressing or the bland, dried out chicken. I'll definitely be back, but I'll probably try a different dressing and opt for an egg instead of meat, as all the meat options looked pretty bad. I like that they open (very) early, because that means I can go beat the crowd and don't have to spend a lot of time waiting in line. I always root for the eateries with an eye-catching interior, soul and good, preferably healthy…read morefood behind it. But most importantly I root for a concept, a mission that makes it stand out. Now G. Spud has it all and it's impossible not to notice. To sum it up: Géraldine et Gaëtan (that what G. stands for) are living a dream of reinventing the potato (engl. for potato) or in their words: "make it's image more sexy" (pardon my poor translation into French) and provide the busy Brussels lunch crowd (location! location! location!). am told the place is very popular during the lunch time, you have to wait to get your fair share with a healthy and gluten free (sic!) options combined either with fish, meat or other vegetables. Neither of them exceeding €10 in addition to very generously sized portions. I tried the Tuna Spud and could barely finished it, although I was quite hungry. Now baked potato as I know it from Germany, is a huge bulb cut in the middle and topped with A LOT OF yogurt sauce and, if you are lucky, some salad and mushrooms. At G.Spud you not only get a nice compilation of fresh produce regional produce and funky dressings! It's also planed (so we were told) to introduce a different sort of potato every month, like local bars do with their choice of beers. To challenge our taste and expand our knowledge. Chapeau! While queuing up, pay attention at the way the spud is prepared and cut, even that is a part of the ultimate G.Spud experience. I really enjoyed every detail of the interior, especially how much attention was dedicated to the lighting and creating this breathy, sunlit, summery atmosphere. The team behind G.Spud (and behind the counter) is incredibly warm-hearted and welcoming, far-far above the Brussels standards. Now, although the ugly siblings Fries and Chips have totally ruined the potato family's reputation, the sexy Spud has all the chances of becoming the new sexy kid on the block. I wish the place would be opened after 5pm as I work pretty far away from Rue Jourdan. Well, it leaves me with Saturdays then. P.S. You can pick your Spud as a take-away, however the team is currently working on its packaging to find an ultimate transporting solution for their lovely spuds! Can't wait to be able order.
