This is a museum that can be done in 1 hour but then you miss the entire point of it. The proper way is to give it a at least 2 hours, watch the movie, take the free ipad that guides you and also has a nice discovery game for the kids and start explore the place. The basement had a tv show exhibit which I guess was famous in Quebec, the first floor has a wonderful sense and science exhibit really well made and the top floor is mostly fossils, stones, and animals which was very interesting. Another plus of the museum is its location right on the gorge with some great views. Entrence is 13$ per adult and 9$ for age 5 up if you need a good place to pass time with the young ones this is a great option

Lots of original artifacts and tools. They did an archeological dig a while ago and found a ton of things that are now exposed. They have the option of an audio tour, or a tour with a guide (which we did). Tour is both in french and in english. Some interactive parts in the tour. Nice looking boutique. Great service by the employees (also always smiling). Coat hanging area provided. Second exposition about the city's oldest manufacturer available. The bad: You learn about the family, but not as much as the way of living in that era. Upstairs closed to the public (would be great to see an authentic bedroom). Manufacturer exposition is a little bland. If you go in without a guide, the tour will be VERY quick. Road from street to the house is very muddy. This was a great experience! We would definitely go back as they are still discovering things about the owners.

went there last year with my family and we were the only one on the guided tour. i don't remember…read morethe girl's name, but she was very sweet! she spoke english but still managed to do the tour in french for my parents. this house is so beautiful! if you like the edwarian/victorian époque you will like this. the curtis family lived there and it has been very well maintained through the years. you will get to see the salons, bureau, salle à manger (with the veranda, where they make tea partys to this day, so cool!), kitchen. Then to the second floor they have bedrooms, one room explaning the custom of marriages - births & and another one for the customs of deaths. which was very interesting! they also have a child bedroom full of antique toys, which was a little bit creepy haha. then you go back downstairs (there are more floors but they are not open to the public) to the little shop. and then outside to another building where they had a little exposition about the rural life, and then to a (kinda) barn where they have some agricultural machinery and rural life things and on the second floor there is a lot of old things from the town it self. so basically, from the outside it's juste a huge house, but from the inside it's a treasure! go! you need to see this!

The staff members are very friendly (and are not afraid to speak in English if you do not know French) and the exhibits are very detailed and descriptive. As part of admission, they show you several interactive films as well (in English and French). Most importantly, you get to learn all about the life and efforts of a great inventor, of whom a major Canadian corporation for transportation products is named after. I visited in October of 2017.

All were interesting but some of the standouts to me were the Japanese Kimonos and the inspiration for works by contemporary artists and the local artist pieces reflecting the beauty and culture of Vermont. There was a large gallery that had a huge range of works by students and faculty of UVM. The Museum is small and very doable in an hour. It is also free. You don't have to be a member of the University to get in. It is good to note that the museum follows the academic calendar - September through May and is open Tuesday - Saturday. The Fleming Museum won't take that long to get around, but you still can see a lot. Hours are crappy because it's closed when school is closed. You should come here if interested in local artists and history. Be sure to know when school is in session, because if it's not the museum will be closed. It's free. This is among the few such museums. A lot of local art. Lots of things to check out in a small space. Amazing how much is packed in. This still won't take long to get through. Among the most notable objects is the sphere object on the cover of the Phish album Round Room. This is located just inside the main entrance, so be sure to see that. Also there's some ancient stuff like the Egyptian artifacts. The paintings collection has a few notable ones among these. For sure the best thing about it is that it's free. It's been free for awhile, but unfortunately it's only open when the college is also open. There's lots to check out if interested in local artists, and Vermont.

There are some interesting parts like waterfalls, rock steps, wooden bridges and an area with some artful graffiti. I haven't walked the whole way because of too much water (wet shoes) and darkness falling. Some day this summer I will when the days are long and the trails are dry!
