I felt like I was transported back to my days in China, Malaysia, and Singapore. The DJ was spinning some great hits and when we started a conversation, I realized she was doing all on 45's records (for all you young folks, go do your research!!!). DOPE!!! Reposado As far as the cocktails we had there signature "One Night Stand" Margarita with my ultimate favorite, Reposado Tequila. One of the guest on the tour wasn't a big tequila drinker (she had some good stories as to why, we all do) so she was like, "here you go friend"... And for those that didn't show up on the tour... "here you go friend again"... And you best believe that I actually came back the next evening in the mist of a busy day just to have that margarita and it hit just like the first few times. We went on a Friday so there was a DJ playing music (mostly remixes of late 2000s stuff like Chris Brown's "Yo") Pros: - REALLY cool ambiance inside, mostly dark, but really cool East Asian decor with lots of red - not crowded, it seems like they purposely regulate the capacity so it's not overrun with people and everyone can have a seat - The cocktails were really delicious!! - Definitely felt like a speakeasy, I was shocked that we couldn't hear the music from outside of the entrance - Very cool bookshelf entrance - Really beautiful presentation of the cocktails - Definitely probably the most unique and coolest speakeasy on the strip Cons: - The music was EXTRA loud - you could feel it physically pulsing when you sat on the couch - which I typically don't mind, but we really did have to shout at each other even though we were sitting right next to each other. So this was more of a sit back and just enjoy the music kind of night - Definitely on the pricier side, but you're really paying for the experience. Even when close to closing time, patrons filled up all the bar seating which isn't a lot; most seating was couches and tables near the knickknacks. I got myself the Bee's Knees, which is cranberry and pineapple juice, apple puree, cinnamon fire syrup and some ginger beer according to their menu just outside the front entrance. I can only describe the taste as a sweetened fruit juice with a ton of fizz from the ginger beer, and the pineapple and apple came out on top for overpowering the drink overall. Some mint leaves and a slice of grapefruit were added in, and the mint leaves made this drink feel more like a special cocktail. This and other mocktails is $13 before tax, so pretty high price especially when considering their other alcoholic drinks are not that much higher than that... I am writing to share feedback regarding a recent visit to the Chocolate Bar inside New York-New York Hotel & Casino during a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my friend Tracy's birthday. This was Tracy's first visit to Las Vegas, and I specifically wanted her to experience your property because we originally met in New York City ten years ago. We were attending the NKOTB concert at your sister property, Park MGM, on Thursday evening and arrived at the Chocolate Bar around 6:00 PM for pre-show cocktails. After reviewing the menu, we were approached by a bartender named Irene. My friend asked a simple question about the difference between the Hershey's Chocolate Martini and the Hershey's Cream Chocolate Martini, specifically wanting to understand the taste profile between the two. Irene responded, "Haven't you ever had a martini before? They are all alcohol." When my friend clarified that she was asking about the taste difference between the regular and cream version, Irene replied, "Well obviously it has cream in it." We were both taken aback by the dismissive and condescending tone. In a hospitality city like Las Vegas--where guest experience is everything--this interaction was disappointing and unnecessary. Asking about menu items should never be met with sarcasm or attitude. We flagged down another bartender (whose name we unfortunately did not catch), and he was professional, helpful, and happy to answer our questions. Our drinks were enjoyable, and we appreciated his service. However, the initial interaction left a very poor impression during what was meant to be a special birthday celebration. I have long been a strong supporter of MGM properties and do significant business throughout the year. In 2025 alone, I booked over 20 stays for my company, not including the substantial spending in restaurants and bars across your properties. Because of that loyalty, this level of service was particularly concerning. Customer service should always be a top priority, especially given the premium pricing on the Strip. After the concert, we considered returning to the Chocolate Bar, but when we saw Irene was still working, we chose not to. That resulted in additional lost sales due to this experience. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and addressed appropriately. I would appreciate acknowledgment of this concern and any steps being taken to ensure guests receive the level of service expected at MGM properties.
