I don't recommend this business at all. He (the Lawrence Byker guy) would repeatedly yell at my dog to "shut up" when she barked at him. A couple times, I saw him raise his foot to the dog's chest, as if he was going to kick her - but he stopped just before his foot made contact with her chest. I saw no special training skills. No trust for this guy/business at all. I see the Better Business Bureau gives this business an "F" and it is not BBB accredited. He does not address complaints or concerns. My experience - he says he doesn't know who you are and denies everything. As the BBB website states, does not address complaints in good faith, if at all. As others said, he trashtalks everyone. A friend of mine said to be wary of any dog papers he tries to sell you - ask lots of questions. Better yet, I recommend that you take your business elsewhere. read more

Larry, a Veteran (apparently), ripped us off for 1200.00. We were put in contact with him with regards to certifying my husbands Emotional support dog (32 year veteran with severe PTSD), he said that he could do it for us with an over the phone conversation and assessment (maybe because of covid?), I thought this odd, but we were due to travel and my husband needed his dog with him. This was almost 10 months ago. He was on us to send the money ASAP so he could get the paperwork done. I have it a few weeks, contacted Larry and was told it was all done and in the mail. Waited a few more weeks and low and behold he was at the post office as the paperwork work was sent back due to an incorrect postal code. Waited a couple months still nothing, he had no idea what could have happened. But this time we ended up canceling our trip (Costa Rica for the winter, lost our deposit ect) because we could not be sure that the paperwork work would be in. Contacted him again and this time he was in the hospital, ect. Excuse after excuse and honestly I wonder if this was even legitimate! Our dog has been trained by ourselves, with the help of a trainer. She has traveled numerous timea but airlines don't allow emotional support dogs any more. Negative one star. Steals your money , shit talks you to other clients then never shows up for second half of training. No text no calls nothing. This happened to me and 2 of my friends. Zero communication from them, asked for a refund, they said no. Said fine, we'll continue with lessons (only had one at that point because they bailed a few times). The morning of our lesson they asked if we wanted a refund, we said yes. They said they would send it out via postal service. After much badgering on our part, over 2 months later and no refund. Worst. Cancelled sessions for reasons that sound like utter crap. Offered a refund, said he would send it in the mail. Never came. then he told us he didn't owe us anything and if we said anything online he would serve us with court papers. It's been almost a year since I've been dealing with this turd. This is such a scam of a company and I wish there was a way to get the message out there because this website is not enough. You can't find any information online about "Larry Byker" if thats even his real name so theres red flag number 1. Please. His dogs are trained before he buys them so don't let him fool you. Read all the reviews - you can tell its a scam. After you give him the money, he no longer answers your texts or calls and when he finally does, he is a flake. looking at all these other reviews, this guy is a complete fawkin scumbag. he's done to us what others have posted. from paying the money in full upfront and signing a contract which the only copy is one that he has. then comes for one training session, cancels and gives the same f@#ing lame excuses that he's given others. finally had enough of his bullshit so we canceled and asked for a refund... of course the contract says No Refunds... I never saw that when I read it over...he agrees to send a cheque in the mail, waiting 3weeks for it to come of course it doesn't come... txts back and forth basically tells you that hes doing nothing wrong its not a crime its a civil matter and take him to court knowing that its nearly impossible because no one knows his address...told us he had to cancel 35 clients over a 2week period... @ $600/ client and even if he gave a 50% partial refund to all 35 which I highly doubt he did, he pockets $10000...not a bad gig. anyways, this guy is a lowlife meathead that uses his size to intimidate people, no respect for the dogs or anyone. only in it for the money... well i'm old-school and I believe in Karma and an eye for eye vindication. Where do I begin?! I couldn't agree more with every review on here. This guy is a fraud who is only in it for the money, huge scam. Our dog went away with him for 2 weeks and we wish we never did this, we wish we could get back the over $1000 we gave him. He charged us almost $200 additional for gas to come to Mississauga from Niagara, he arrived late and have the audacity to ask us how much we pay for our condo, when we told him what we paid he was extremely rude and unprofessional. He has zero people skills which is why he works with animals. All he seemed to really care about was trying to sell us his pet supplies. He was so condescending in every which way he spoke, he is an ignorant person. When we got our dog back 2 weeks later (he got his partner to drop him off close to midnight) the dog crate was bent and our dog bowl was missing as well. We tried to communicate with him on a follow up so we could know the specific commands he "taught" our dog since he dint even have the decency to come back and drop him off he made his partner go, we could not get a hold of him, we ended up blocking him. I can't even begin to explain this awful business! In a nutshell...called them to help train i figured they would be perfect for what we needed, they came to the house, We met, made out a plan of action, money was paid in full for training, two sessions...get an excuse his dog was going for heart surgery, (bunch of BS), sessions would be postponed, i was ignored a few times when making inquires into when training was being picked up, given excuses, being put off finally i had enough told them I was going to social media he didnt care and has ignored ever since. I hope that this company is being investigated for fraud him and his wife (who has left him since), and the while he was waiting his dogs heart surgery he was asking for money and I turn around and see hes asking for interior decorators, getting a Belgian Malinois, getting his car all K-9 ready said it was his sponsors but I guess the sponsors are the clients that paid in full for services never completed.
