Juno and Jupiter be praised that he indeed is. I don't remember what we ate, but I do remember us being utterly floored by how good it was. So much so that in a four day stay, we came for our evening eats TWICE. The owner is one of those happy, lucky few who truly loves what he does for a living (and extremely good as well) and it is so evident in the food he serves. Heed the words of the first reviewer Crystal. Personally, I think it's the best food north of Napoli and that includes that wonderful arena of gluttony, Bologna. If you goto Torino, go here. If only all of life were that simple.

GO HERE. You'll be so happy you did. If you're in Turin (or…read moreMilan, or Bergamo,or Parma, or anywhere within a train distance), this is the place you MUST VISIT. The food was blissful. We had the fried fish mixed plate, the house-made ravioli with shrimp, the octopus with potato and it was all so good. As foodie tourists, my husband and I have travelled in most of Italy's big cities (Rome, Florence, Milan, the Lake District) sampling the best restaurants we could find on TripAdvisor, Yelp and the Michelin guide. I can say with certainty that this one, A6 Sciamadda is my number one favorite. Mauro, the chef and owner, delights guests with the flavors of his hometown near the sea. And the wonderful host (I'm sorry I can't spell his name) shares the story of the dish as well as the wine he recommends. This is not simply a meal. It is an experience. You may enter hungry, but you will leave with the happy glow of having spent an hour with a new friend. As travelers, we all know how it is. You search reviews. You look at maps. Over and over, we ask ourselves the same question: Will this be worth it? Worth our time, our money and our travel energy spent to get there. After a quick day-trip to Turin during our Milan vacation, I can promise you that it is totally worth it. In fact, if you begin by eating at A6 Schimada, you may find that, like me and my husband, you change your travel plans and book your next visit to stay here instead.

Get here early as, our name was placed on the waiting list at 1:30, we were seated at 2:30. It is a super popular dining location with the local crowd. They offer a fixed price three course meal for lunch and dinner. The pricing has 3 tiers for lunch 10, 15 and 20 €. All three levels offer three options for main course vegetarian, fish, or a meat. The menu changes daily given what fresh produce is sourced that day. Todays 1st course, Broccali cream puree with crostini and freshly grated parmigiano. 2nd course, (15€ meat option) Seared pork medallions, with 1/2 ball of fresh mozzarella over bed of asparagus. 3rd course, fresh fruit bowl (or chocolate cake over vanilla cream). Note: No extra (Coperto) charge for, Table bread, choice of red or white wine, sparkling and still waters, and espresso. Our group has been in Milan for 4 days, this meal was the best meal so far, absolutely delicious meal!!! The staff are all young, hip and energetic. We all felt if we were staying in Torino we would dine here again and again! The only catch to having such exellent food is everyone else recognizes the value, be prepared for a wait....

This is not a tourist restaurant. The staff was gracious and helped us through our meal. Everything is made in-house and there is no set menu. The menu is set by the freshest ingredients possible. Each person chooses a "line" for 2-3 courses, depending on what you would like to spend. For dinner, I chose the vegetarian line and had a roasted portobello mushroom with fontina and cherries. The flavors were fantastic and unexpected. For my second course, I had roasted vegetable ravioli. Also excellent. My husband had a sea bass ceviche with house-made ricotta (best dish of the entire meal) and a poached fish dish with spinach. The total, including two glasses of wine and sparkling water, was 42 euros. Lunch was a whole different affair. We stood in line for the 12:30 opening and were treated to a multi-course meal. They had either a seafood or a meat line, and we both had the seafood. They also had a caprese salad on offer. Don't make our mistake, unless you want a lot of food--choose either the fish/meat or the salad. Both are more than enough on their own. The amuse-bouche was a piece of asiago with blueberry sauce and sea kelp. The main was pasta (I forget what type, house-made, similar to rigatoni) with a pomodoro seafood ragu. Incredible. Lunch includes dessert (custard with fig preserves), house-made foccacia and breads, homemade fruit juice, and espresso. All for 10 euros per person! Both meals were fantastic. You must go in with the mindset that you will eat wonderful, unexpected flavors. This is a great place for people who want great food, a great experience, and again, no menu. If you like an adventure (especially if you do not speak Italian), go here.
