Juno and Jupiter be praised that he indeed is. I don't remember what we ate, but I do remember us being utterly floored by how good it was. So much so that in a four day stay, we came for our evening eats TWICE. The owner is one of those happy, lucky few who truly loves what he does for a living (and extremely good as well) and it is so evident in the food he serves. Heed the words of the first reviewer Crystal. Personally, I think it's the best food north of Napoli and that includes that wonderful arena of gluttony, Bologna. If you goto Torino, go here. We had the fried fish mixed plate, the house-made ravioli with shrimp, the octopus with potato and it was all so good. As foodie tourists, my husband and I have travelled in most of Italy's big cities (Rome, Florence, Milan, the Lake District) sampling the best restaurants we could find on TripAdvisor, Yelp and the Michelin guide. I can say with certainty that this one, A6 Sciamadda is my number one favorite. Mauro, the chef and owner, delights guests with the flavors of his hometown near the sea. And the wonderful host (I'm sorry I can't spell his name) shares the story of the dish as well as the wine he recommends. This is not simply a meal. It is an experience. You may enter hungry, but you will leave with the happy glow of having spent an hour with a new friend. As travelers, we all know how it is. You search reviews. You look at maps. Over and over, we ask ourselves the same question: Will this be worth it? Worth our time, our money and our travel energy spent to get there. After a quick day-trip to Turin during our Milan vacation, I can promise you that it is totally worth it. In fact, if you begin by eating at A6 Schimada, you may find that, like me and my husband, you change your travel plans and book your next visit to stay here instead.

The food is Sicilian in style so lots of seafood dishes, and it was an incredible array of delicious varieties, with large portions (we had to ask for them to skip dishes towards the end... overstuffed) The waiter was very friendly and service was top notch including the reservation and communication prior to arrival. Drinks were included and our glasses and ice bucket was kept full ALL night between the bubbly, wine, more bubbly, more wine... Emailing in advance, they were also very accommodating to my dietary restriction (gluten free), and served me double the portion of everyone else (like I said, we were STUFFED). And the price for the NYE was very reasonable at 100 euro for the 9 course seafood feast, and all the wines and coffee included. Look forward to coming back on my next stop in Turin!

The tomato spread was just the right thickness and balance between garlic (generous) and tomato. I also had the steamed mussels - it isn't directly stated on the menu but they have a choice of a simple steam or a tomato broth. I opted for the tomato broth and it was superb - all of the right garlic and wine notes, and the mussels were steamed just right, and as we know that is a fine line between undercooked and overcooked that is the mark of a restaurant that truly cares. Pro-tips: The house red is excellent. Sit outside in the sidewalk area if you can. There are English menus available.

The restaurant itself is very small, probably only seats about 10-12 people, communal seating, not really separate tables.
