She explained the whole process to me and how they'd clean off the grill and change everything out. She even brought me all of the toppings from the back so it wasn't from the topping bar that was out on the floor. It was her suggestion to get me all new toppings. When we were done eating she came back over to make sure everything tasted okay and had the biggest smile. She really went above and beyond. Such a great experience.

The breakfast chimichanga was amazing. It was nicely fried, with a hearty portion of ingredients, smothered in country gravy and cheese. Each bite had a great interplay of flavors and textures. The breakfast burritos are more one-note for me. Although they were a very sizable portion, they were more bland, and the salsa they came with tasted more like a spicy tomato sauce. Service is very cheerful and friendly. Overall, I'd definitely like to try another breakfast chimichanga, or maybe some of their pulled pork dishes.

It's Food Truck Thursday again!!!…read more I know what you're thinking. "Grumpy! How many food trucks can you eat from?" Well folks, how many food trucks are there? I wanted to try something a little different today so I stopped at the Hungry Street Grille. Looking at their menu the chicken tender's basket sounded like it would be a nice change. I've never tried Chef Greg's food so this should be interesting. The truck was clean and the sign was legible. Two good starts. The guy in the window, sorry I did not ask his name, was friendly. I just wanted a can of Coke but they don't have that. They have big glass bottles of Coca-Cola!!! BONUS!! I'm letting you know that Coke tastes great from a glass bottle. Now onto the food. Three plump chicken pieces. All a good size and cooked with excellence. The outside batter is tasty and crispy while the inside was juicy. This is the way they are supposed to be cooked. I did not realize that fries came with the basket. Shoestring fries that were nice and crisp as well. I really hate limp fries. These were great. And two sauces come with it. BBQ and buffalo chicken sauce. Eh. The BBQ tasted like a KC Masterpiece and the buffalo tasted like Franks. Now I like both and was not expecting homemade sauces so a nice addition. Better than ketchup for sure. A filling meal for 10 bucks. So would I recommend Hungry Street Grille? You betcha. My overall experience was good. You can check them out on facebook and twitter Facebook.com/HungryStreetGrille and @HungryStreetGrille Thanks Greg for cooking up lunch. See you down Hungry Street again!

They have a limited menu, which is to be expected with a food truck. They are Mexican themed and the decor of the truck is whimsical and rustic. You have a couple of wooden steps to navigate in order to place your order but I would also guess that if accessibility was an issue, they would accommodate you! I ordered the bowl with carnitas, rice, black beans, guac and pico. They also added sour cream and cheese. They have a huge display of toppings to choose from along with several kinds of sauce. The carnitas were excellent...so full of smoky goodness, moist, and really good...the rice was another issue. I found it to underdone for my liking. Some probably like it a bit more underdone but I prefer mine to be soft and fully cooked. The pico had great flavor and wasn't spicy at all...had good seasoning to round it out. Their guac was really good too, smashed avocado with bits of red onion, tomato, and seasoning. They make a great guac! My score of a three is really about the rice...several others I ate with also felt the rice was a bit underdone so it wasn't just me. Overall a good experience and if they come back or are somewhere I happen to be, I would eat with them again.

We decided to try the mild hatch chile chicken bowls. The chicken was not as flavorful as I thought it would be. I'm not sure if it is boiled ground chicken, but the color was light grey. You get a lot of rice & a small spoon of veggies. I was also a little let down that they charge you 50cents per sauce. I would assume a small sauce drizzle would be included in the price. The chef did add some drizzle for us, which was nice. The roasted red pepper crema was the only flavor I really tasted. This may have been an off night for the flavors, but the truck itself is really cool. Not sure if I would give them another try, but the plus is they play good music & have a unique truck!

Consider it my litmus test. We had just gotten off a flight, it was getting late, and Fruit Landia was close to closing for the evening. Even so, they welcomed us, took our order, and treated us like valued customers instead of making us feel like the last-minute people walking in at closing time. For that alone, thank you. I ordered the carne asada burrito, and they absolutely passed the test. The meat was flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked exactly how it should be. No shortcuts, no disappointments...just a solid burrito that reminded me why simple food done right is so impressive. The ambiance was inviting, the food was excellent, and the customer service was outstanding. It's not often you find a place that delivers on all three, especially late in the evening. FruitLandia made a great first impression, and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Mesa. Thank you for ending a long travel day on such a high note.

The Birria and the shrimp and cheese were very good tacos! Tiny shrimp but, cooked near perfection. Full of flavor and the a texture that is hard to achieve. The tacos were incredible! The fish taco was my favorite -- had tons of fish and a great slaw on top. Carne asada had tender meat. Al pastor was seasoned perfectly and a bit charred which added more flavor. Quesabirria was gooey, meaty, and flavorful. The salsas were great too -- red was very spicy which I loved. Green was more medium spiced but still great spice. Would order from them again and try more menu items.
