Called in another forklift mechanic in the area, and this is what was wrong with it: 1. Fuel regulator was completey shot 2. Engine was leaking oil heavily and would require the entire engine to be pulled out to fix (at around $2500) 3. Needed both knuckles on the steering rack, because both were completely worn to the point where any more use would cause them to slip out and stop steering entirely (Another $3,000 fix) 4. The battery they included was too small for the forklift 5. The hydraulic lines were worn and leaking 6. Electric lines were worn and hardened We were charged over $10,000 for a forklift that lasted one month, and would've cost more than it was worth to fix. The other forklift mechanic (great guy) took it off our hands for salvage, and sold us a Hyster that has run like a clock ever since (for less money). BUYER BEWARE!

Yelp does it again!…read more We had a lot of crap along the side of and back behind the house: falling-apart eyesores and heaps of cobwebby procrastination that just sat there. I hated it. It embarrassed me. We'd always meant to get rid of it, always had it on our immediate to-do list; but, you know, other things come up. One day, though, we'd finally had enough--so we gloved up, hauled everything out to the front yard, swept, called our exterminator to kill all of the spiders (their damn hiding spots now revealed), and consulted Yelp for a haul-away pickup. Enter: Vic's! They charge by the cubic foot, drive out to your place, load everything up, and haul that sh*t outta there. That I had already lugged everything out front made it easier for everyone, I suppose; but if I'd left it all where it sat, Vic's would have made it disappear anyway, I'm sure (although I don't know if that makes any difference to the cost.) I had taken pictures of it all beforehand, texted them into Christina so that she'd have a better idea as to what they'd be up against. A pick-up time was calendared for the next day; as promised, Vic's showed on-time; final costs after loading up were determined; and a check was accepted (extra fee, I believe, for a credit card.) Hands washed, shoulders unburdened, mind clear, body at rest...for now, anyway. Thanks to Yelp, and an even bigger thanks to the great people at Vic's!
