Of all the tree services in my area that I called to get an estimate to remove a very large tree from my back yard, LA Disaster Relief was the only one that came, gave me an estimate, and removed the tree. The others said they would come but didn't. One came, looked and said he would get an estimate to me...I'm still waiting for that estimate, plus the other services to even show up! LA Relief came the day they said they would, gave me an estimate, explained they had a large job to do so it would be about a week or so before the could come do the job. It was nine business days between the estimate and when they came to do the job. The tree was not easy to get to so it could be removed. I have a fenced yard with only one way to get into the yard, it is not large enough for the truck. The crew removed panels of my fence and one of the posts so they could get the bucket truck closer to the tree. They had the tree down in about six hours. The removal included large limbs near main power lines, over a shed, and one that could hit the house as well as take down the power lines running from the pole to the house if not removed properly. All those limbs were taken down without them hitting anything but the ground. Before they left after taking the tree down, they made sure that the yard was as usable as possible until they could come back the next day to move the tree to the front of the house and take it from there. After the debris was moved to the front, the crew made sure that the back yard was raked and didn't have any holes that were caused by the work. It had been a very wet couple of weeks before they came to do the work and the ground was very wet. Some grass was 'torn up' due to the extremely wet ground but they made sure that it was put back to the best condition possible. The fence panels that were removed were put back in the same condition as when it was taken down and that included digging a hole to put the post back. The truck came to take the debris away about an hour after the crew was done moving it to the front. Kyle, the own, also came about the same time as the truck that was removing the debris to check how the job was progressing. He walked to the back to check as well as asked me how his crew did with the job. He also grabbed a rake to clean up the small debris that the 'picker' couldn't grab. The front of my yard was left in the same condition as before they moved the tree debris to it. NO PAYMENT WAS REQUESTED BEFORE THE JOB WAS STARTED! I paid for the job in full when it was completed, which was after all the debris was removed. The price was very reasonable considering where the tree was and the amount of work involved. I just moved to Ocala and found LA Disaster on line. Hired them after a while of going back and forth. Sent out their crew and Austin who seemed to be in charge took my cash payment. After finding out that the stump grinding was not part of the first $3000. Est I was told by Austin it would be another $750. Which I payed again in cash to Austin. When they got done after they were leaving I noticed they didn't do 2 stumps, which I was told they'd be back. Also from the 1st contact with this company I had talked to them about a fence and was told they'd let me know. Austin also talked to me about the fence and since he was representing this company and I had given him cash for all the other work I gave him $5000. In cash and his boss Kyle was with him waiting in the truck. Well after waiting 4 days and not getting any calls I called Austin and was told that Kyle took my $5000. And fired him. Of course I called the police because after that conversation I couldn't get Austin back on the phone for many hours. I was basically told by the police that I'd have to take him to court. Austin told me that he'd still do the job, but I ended up getting wood instead of vinyl but still paid for vinyl! It took him 3 weeks and it was a horrible job. I didn't feel like I had any choice except to be completely out of all my money or have him do the job. I called LA Disaster and spoke with Kyle the owner. He said he was so sorry & wanted to make things right by coming the next day and bringing me a load of dirt and grinding the other stumps. I was also told I was not the only customer that Austin had ripped off, and that other customers have lawsuits going on. I couldn't believe they sent a worker to my home that they knew they had problems with and allowed him to take payments from me. Not only that, but Kyle never came out and brought my dirt and finished the job! I've called and emailed and he never responded after that day! I've had to pay someone else to come out and fix the fence because the job was horrible! Not only that, but part of my chain fence disappeared! I feel that this company knew if the issues with their employee and still put him my life. This has caused my life pure hell for over a month! Do not hire this company! Obviously the owner doesn't care about who he hires or what he promises! New to Ocala and ripped off! They called me when they saw my other review and said they wanted to fix things AGAIN LOL they continued to lie to me daily about coming, but of course never came so now I have a law suit against them! read more
