I tried to add this restaurant and found it under this name when I checked the address…read more Name says L'arros &.... New number 972 606 979/638 151 553 Hours of operation : Lunch 1pm - 4pm Dinner 8pm-11pm Wednesday closed all day Tues open for lunch only. Came by this place since it was close to where I was at that time.. There seems to be so many good seafood restaurants in this town. I've been to different restaurant in Barcelona with similar style. But this place preps the dish different style and full service.. The restaurant was very clean, stylish and friendly staff. You pick the seafood, they weight it front of you and cost to cook the style you want. I ordered 2 fresh oysters. Lady helping us said it was her favorite kind/imported from France. $5 a pop so ordered 2 only . Ordered sea urchin, baby clams cooked with garlic and parsley. Also ordered the lagosta arrossos caldosos style.. I was told it was like paella but more soup style.. Only thing I was not happy with was that they had to split it and make it into 2 order which ended up costing 80 euro. But I was in a splurging mood so I decided to go for it. Also ordered fried calamari. So for starter bread.. Seems all the bread main in Spain is yummy. Ordered beer and water... First came oysters and sea urchin.. Oyster was definitely good.. Nice plump size and fresh. Sea urchin was different than one I'm used to. Smaller size but more sweet and less irony. Fried calamari was also yummy. Nice tender and the breading was just right. Baby clam also fresh clean and full of flavor. Now the main dish.. It came in a bit bowl and it reminded me of gumbo. I was bit disappointed to see that it basically had double amount of all dente rice. So one lagosta split in half double amount of rice for 80 euros. This could have been made one serving for 40 euro but that was not an option. But over all it was good. First time having lagosta (weird looking lobster). I think I would have preferred prepared it grilled. Now to dessert.. Order tiramisu and xuixo de girona (was told Girona dessert). Tiramisu in a little cup.. Omg.. I have to say this was one of the best tiramisu I've ever eaten.. Soooo melt in your mouth, I'm in heaven dessert. The other one looked like fried egg roll sprinkled with sugar. Inside was cream I'm told. That was also yummy.. Nice crispy outside and inside was warm, sweet, and bread pudding texture.. That was also yummy. Over all it was good experience and food was yummy.. I would definitely come back here again.

Wish I had more time in Girona. Passed this place on my way to a Game of Thrones walking tour and…read moreit did not disappoint. You're able to order the seafood you want from the counter. We got 2 uni (sea urchin) which was like 8 euros and both tasted different, scallop, seafood risotto soup, octopus and oyster. Everything we had was delicious. The seafood all tasted fresh and would come back here again if I ever find myself back in the beauty town of Girona.

This restaurant is well-reviewed and the owner has published two…read morecookbooks, so our group of 4 were all shocked to be served what could most accurately be described as hospital food. The starter salad was not fresh and not seasoned. The vegetable of the day was overcooked boiled potatoes and green beans with no seasoning. The soup of the day was as thick as glue, and again, under-seasoned. The fresh hake was deep fried and overcooked. The "steak" was a cheap cut, maybe 3mm thin, and looked like something that would be served at a prison. We sat at the restaurant looking at online photos from positive reviews, wondering if we had shown up on the chef's day off. We do not speak Catalan, but when our waitress came to clear our plates, and saw that we hadn't eaten some items, she made it clear that she understood why. We had a dozen items. The pork cheek was decent. The ice cream was fine. The crema was fine. Nothing else. This was easily the worst meal we had in a MONTH in Catalonia.

We were told that the sons of the owners of this restaurant own the 3 Michelin star restaurant just down the street. It's no wonder their kids have cooking chops because the food at Can Roca is as good as home made gourmet food gets. For two people with drinks, our 3 course meal (not counting a poached egg complementary starter) came out to less than 30 euros! We came at the end of the lunch crowd, around 4pm, when they were closing their lunch hours and reopening later for dinner. Despite the odd hour, the restaurant was completely packed but we didn't have to wait long to get a table. The whole place was locals only. Their menu is small and we were told they were already out of quite a few items. We basically told our server to give us whatever they had still available and whatever else she recommended. I can't tell you the names of the dishes but everything was just spectacular. We had these potato croquettes that were so divine, a bit salty from the meat mixed in, but super creamy. Even the potato and peas dish turned out to be really good- simple but satisfying. For the main dishes, we got the ribs with roasted chestnuts, and a stewed beef with mushrooms. The meats were so tender. And then for dessert we got some type of chocolate mousse with cookie crumbles and a coconut cream mousse with pineapple bits. This is the stuff you can expect to get at a fancy restaurant, definitely not at a mom and pop shop. Needless to say, we left very full and will definitely be back next time we are here.
