But you did nothing to help with my license. I lost it bc of your neglect as a tax preparer. I just got it fixed after 4 years thru another responsible bookkeeper. Even the IRS agrees with me that you shouldn't be doing taxes. You filed an amendment and made no changes which delayed my refund by 15 months. The IRS was so confused. I've spent months and months and a load of $$ to fix the mess you made. You never even filed one set of taxes but said you did. I had to send in paper copies bc like always you didn't do what you were paid to do. I'm sorry we don't agree. It's my review and my opinion as a past customer of yours. I contacted Shockley in April 2022 to do my taxes. I admit that I was sweating it. Wil Sutherland at Shockley Bookkeeping and Tax Services did the best job for me! In my opinion this is a very bad place to do business. I also feel that they are not very…read moreknowledgeable and don't have the customer's best interest in mind. In 2022 I had one of their Sr tax consultants help me with a non standard w2/tax issue. Their consultant was helpful and provided a written letter to do document the situation and provide to my employer. He also said that in 2023 we would have to correct the issue. Fast forward to 2023 I tried for 2 week to get ahold of the tax consultant to complete this issue. He never returned my calls. I even tried to talk to a receptionist and she could not get ahold of him. She advised that I come in to see one of the Sr tax consultants. I went to the appointment and explained what happened and the situation. He repeatedly said that there was nothing he could do, even after I provided a copy of the letter from 2022. After about 10 min of this and explaining the situation multiple time the Shockley staff keep saying not to blame him or get mad at time. At this point the rude behavior was more than I was willing to take, so I got up and left. At this point he used profanity and followed me to the door of the business verbally badgering me. He continued to badger me even as i was getting in my car. By advising me on a course of action and then the next not help does not leave me feeling that they are capable or knowledgeable about their services. The using profanity and badgering me as i left the business makes me feel like they do not have the customer's interest in mind.

Mind blowing how I've had to create this account for my first review to be such a negative…read moreexperience. A close friend recommended me Dexter's Morse & Company CPA firm not too long ago and I decided to set up a 30 minute consult meeting through his public website "Book an Appointment" button. On this page their company states: "For general inquires, quote, and booking appointments please call, email or simply book a meeting time in the calendar above. We are happy to service you and take pride on responding in a timely manner." I selected an open slot for the following day and after waiting for his call, which I was prepared for him to be somewhat late as his automated calendar email states: "Dexter will call you on the number we have in your files at or near the time of the appointmnet as hes does run over some times." (Yes both spelling errors and grammar issues were in the email and appear exactly as they do above) After nine minutes of waiting for our 11:00am meeting, I received the first email in the image attachments below. It described how he is "super busy" and I am not in his client list etc. I tried to be polite in my response to him and explain my situation, as I was slightly confused by his inability to meet and still have an entire calendar of empty slots on his website for anyone to "Book an Appointment." His second interaction with me ever was what really concerned me. In the third image attached below he describes how it's "not cool getting on [his] calendar as it is for clients only and [he] do[es]n't have time for this." And then proceeds to inform me he is "Blocking [me] now." This type of interaction feels extremely unprofessional and I can only assume Dexter wants less clients and not more. I hope anyone who's worked with or is thinking about working with Dexter takes this incident into account when deciding to move forward with him in the future.
