No. 12 Cnoc Terrace is a self-catering holiday home based in the Kyle of Lochalsh, Ross-shire, with the property overlooking the Isle of Skye.
We stayed there for a week in April 2009 and were extremely impressed with the cleanliness and decor of the property.
The house sleeps 6 and a cot was made available which was excellent as we had our baby grandaughter with us. Should you have toddlers, there is also a highchair and baby bath available if you ask the owners beforehand.
As non-smokers we were pleased that the owners have a non-smoking policy.
There are three bedrooms upstairs, the main bedroom having a superking-sized bed and the other two are fitted with twin beds. All rooms nicely furnished in cool and pleasing decor. There is a TV in the main bedroom.

Upstairs: there is also a bathroom and shower and there is also a shower room downstairs.
Downstairs: there is a nice fully fitted kitchen-come-dining room and a separate living room. The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
Other facilities include: TV with Freeview, DVD and CD Player and there is wireless internet connection.
There is a small garden at the front of the house to sit and enjoy the early evening sun.
We liked this self-catering accommodation in Lochalsh because it was near enough to the local village to have access to a supermarket, small shops, chemist, bank and hairdresser but it was also far enough away for us to enjoy the pleasant walks in the area of which there are quite a few.
We discovered the local railway museum based at Kyle of Lochalsh railway station and my husband spent a happy few hours there!
Our daughter and son-in-law even took advantage of the gym and swimming pool at the Lochalsh Leisure Centre which is just a short stroll away.
The cost of our weeks stay in April was £350 and included in the price is heating/electricity (there is oil central heating throughout the house) linens and towels.
We'd certainly book this accommodation if we were in the area again and the bottle of wine left for us on our arrival certainly got our holiday off on the right foot! read more
