Site 29 & 30 have decks best view in campground. Shower & bath house is very old & Power & electric was about 30 ft from campsite (Make sure you have plenty of hose & extension for electric) We spent 1 day out on lake.

Always happy to have everyone!…read more I've only been going for a couple years now, after finding out the old owner ( of 10+ years ago) had sold out. I heard only great things of how it's changed for the best, and I was definitely not disappointed. Every single time I've gone there by either land, boat, or seadoo, it has been a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is summer itself! It's fun, colorful, and clean. Great change! The bartender is very good. Their servers are very good at their jobs too. The food is on par with lakefront choices, and I've never had a complaint. Everyone always seems happy there, and it leaves you with a feeling of contentment and peace as you float away to the beautiful KY Lake. Don't forget to get a FatDaddys T-shirt!! We've got 4.

Parking was simple. We headed out on the water, boat was great, worked well, no issues. Returned, fueled up and on our way. Our jobs don't always…read moreallow us to plan far ahead for out of town trips, so we were thrilled that we were able to make reservations online several days in advance, (good website) and we were especially happy to be able to bring our two small dogs. Our oldest passed in January, and we were so regretful that we didn't take her on more trips with us, even though that isn't always an option. We had a great weekend with our dogs. I fished some on Saturday nearby, my husband relaxed with the dogs and tv. We grilled out, had a campfire, and had a relaxing weekend. Everyone at the few surroundings MF businesses we visited were friendly and helpful. Anyone reading this who has not stayed in these types of cottages/cabins before should known you are getting the "inside" camping experience (which is what we wanted.) It feels a lot like camping, but you have air conditioning, toilet and shower, tv, and other modern conveniences. It's not intended to be a hotel, so make sure to take anything you would use at home like toiletries, things to clean up with after meals, if you are particular about what you cook with or dishes etc., bring what you need. Our cottage was clean, beds had their own linens and were comfortable, and plenty of towels were provided. Other kitchen needs were provided as well. It was a great weekend.

Mid-point of the lake, restaurants/marina/conscience close. I would rather give a 2.5 star rating, however I'm optimistic and rounded up. Pros: location, friendly staff, kids liked the play and games area, plenty of space, comfortable beds. Cons: broken light fixtures/exposed wire, mildewed shower and curtain, mildewed-smelling towels, ants in kitchen and bathroom, melted tv due to its location above fireplace, dead bugs in light fixtures, grimy fans, ripped carpet, several burned out light bulbs. With some regularly scheduled maintenance and cleaning schedule, these issues could be resolved. However we won't be staying there again.

Looked good and allegedly supports veterans and emergency personnel so we decided to give it a shot. For the record I am a Veteran. Upon arrival I realized that things were not as advertised as the campground had two Huge For Sale signs on the property. I pulled to the end and a nice lady told me they were expecting me and showed me a back in site. I was expecting a pull though but backing is not an issue. Instead of the nice sites we saw on the website it was a very tight back in spot but did have full hook ups so I went against my gut feeling and backed in. Our spot worked out ok but the other spot which we were told was under construction was just a load of gravel knocked down and not packed. The power plug was on a building about 40' behind the spot and the water had to come from the camper spot next door and used a splitter so they shared the hydrant. Their trailer sunk about two blocks deep just backing in. The website shows $35 per night so we expected $150 at most for both spots plus any Veterans discount. The owner appears to be down on his luck so we stayed. Shouldn't have. He charged us $300 and had the audacity to say it was a holiday and/or special event price. He stated there was a fishing tournament in town. It is Paris Landing area so my guess there is alway a tournament going on. If we were made aware of this before hand we would have stayed elsewhere. I gave him a chance to make things right but to this point Big Jim seems to not be a very straight shooter. Look at his pix posted and then review my Google earth pix below. There are now more sheds on this small piece of property. Apparently they are not plumbed as the tenants were making runs for the bathroom shed. The bathroom shed (literally) is where they wash their dishes and themselves. Don't be deceived by the website or Big Jim's smooth talking. Do Not Make the Same Mistake We Did as Big Jim will get to you. It's a shame as after we find a place we like and that takes care of us there is a huge group that camps together so could have been much more lucrative for Big Jim had he not messed us over. Truth matters and Honesty wins in the end.
