The gal was on the phone, the guy stuttered for a long seconds with "uhhhhhhhh.....it starts at $35". I asked him why does it costs less than an oil change, the stated price on the sign board, in their shop, for $30. He said: that's inside. I said: What's the difference between inside and outside? He replies: well...that's the advertised price inside, in the event that we run a special. Normally, an oil change costs $70. Really? They're in the business of slashing 60% off? Terrible liar. After sensing a complete bait-n-switch with a flavor ful of up-pricing, I just leave. How hard is it to move 2 tires from the back to the front, and vice versa? And, for $35? Ha! Today I had to wait for one over a half an hour. I've been shopping there since they opened and had a dozen or more carts. Today four. Poor strategy and marketing. As one of the only two Holiday locations in Minneapolis, this is issue is unsurprising, but for those of you planning ahead for your next stop, I'd recommend going to a gas station with more space. This spacial issue is especially prevalent when your truck battery dies and you need to get it jump started. I was on my way to a job sight when I noticed my gas tank was on empty. I stopped at this gas station because it was the closest. After filling up, I tried to start the truck again and it wouldn't start! The staff is always genuinely friendly, the store is clean and the gas is ALWAYS about $0.20 cheaper. Not only is it cheaper than 95% of stores in the metro (I'll get to that in a second) but it's high quality fuel. I get 30-50 more miles per tank consistently. Back to the pricing: I live in Minneapolis. 30 minutes away. My husband works five minutes from Kochs Korner. I am disabled and on a fixed income so I really have to think about my spending. I will typically time out my necessary trips to Loretto for when I'm low on fuel so I can take advantage of the savings. I can't fathom how many stations I pass on the 25 mile trip but I ALWAYS look up gas along my route to find the cheapest option and it's never fails that Kochs Korner wins.
