The store owner racially profiled then racially discriminated against a friend of mine who is a Black man. The store owner accused him of being a different Black man who had been in the store just twice before and during those two times used stolen credit card information. My friend lives just a couple blocks from Kitty's Corner and has been a frequent customer for years. Because my friend is Black, the store owner (who didn't know my friend by all the employees who weren't present do) accused him of being the man who used a stolen credit card. The store owner then called the police on my friend. My friend showed the police his credit card and his ID, as well as his credit card and bank statements on his phone, and the officer determined that my friend was not the man the store owner was accusing him of being. But even after being told that, instead of just apologizing, the store owner double-downed and insisted she wasn't wrong. She then banned my friend from ever going to the store again.
