The gas pump area is super clean and maintained well. Inside is orderly too. I needed to get gas and remembered they offer the famous HoHo cakes. So, after filling up, I ran inside to get the sweet treat for my sister. The Mama P's selection was plentiful but not very diverse. They were all chocolate based except for the animal cracker. It was so cute with pink cake and a pink animal cracker on top. I also chose the chocolate and peanut butter. I wish they had more non-chocolate options such as lemon etc. They were delicious just the same. Once you check in on Yelp, you receive an offer for a free bottle of water. The young girl at the desk was very confused and went to get another person for help. That girl looked at my phone and said, "we don't do that". When I said I think they do she agreed. It seemed like since she wasn't sure how to process the Yelp offer, she just wanted to refuse it. Then I realize it is Kenosha Restaurant Week. More confusion ensued on the price of my HoHo cakes, the only item they offered on Restaurant Week. I love that Lou Perrine's participated in Yelp and Restaurant Week. I just wish the staff is better trained on things like this.

I stop by in the morning for coffee - they have it brewed fresh each morning with really great options- even my favorite iced coffee! They are great about getting new items in and keeping things up to date. You will always be welcomed by smiling faces and they are always willing to help if you can't find something. I see police officers here a lot (it's near the police station) and I always feel safe if I have to come by late at night. BONUS: they have KRINGLE! And the deliver groceries if you need it. AMAZING. (It looks like they have a low rating currently due to old reviews- with new management, everything has changed!)

Food wise, they had a trailer which served a variety of food including Krispy Crunchy Chicken, a sit-down restaurant on the 2nd floor, Kringles from a local bakery (I presume), and a Taco Bell! Cigarettes are super (like insane) cheap, but things like, oh, I don't know, nuts and Mr. Pibb are kind of outlandish. They sell food here. Nachos, sandwiches, slushies... they even have a salad bar (smart!) and this place is clean as heck. They have free coffee here on Sundays. They have digital scales and rolling papers, I can't imagine what for. Unfortunately, they do not tonic or soda water. (Guess who likes gin?) I'm fine with this place existing. I'll continue to support my habits here.

It was founded in 1965 in my home state of WI, specifically, Eau Claire (have fun pronouncing that all you non-Wisconsinites). A Long John is a yeast/raised doughnut that is typically iced and sometimes filled with custard, cream, or some other filling. The term is primarily utilized in the Midwest, Texas, and Canada. Other parts of the U.S. refer to Long Johns as Bar Doughnuts, Finger Doughnut, or Cream Stick (that one sounds kind of dirty). The variety I have from Kwik Trip had chocolate icing and a multitude of OREO chunks decorating its surface. Cookies n cream is one of my favorite dessert flavors and I was ecstatic that it even contained creme in the center. I honestly thought this was going to be a top tier doughnut but could not have been more wrong. All the bells and whistles are useless if the basics are neglected. In this case, the body of the doughnut/dough had a bland flavor and did not taste fresh (or at least poor texture). However, it's worth it for the cheaper gas. The car wash here is always great too. If you purchase at the pump, you can save yourself a few dollars. The washes always leave my car looking clean and sparkly for days. This BP also runs a lot of promotions for deals inside the convenience store when you purchase gas. Definitely worth the stop in the Bay View area.
