Nachos, sandwiches, slushies... they even have a salad bar (smart!) and this place is clean as heck. They have free coffee here on Sundays. They have digital scales and rolling papers, I can't imagine what for. Unfortunately, they do not tonic or soda water. (Guess who likes gin?) I'm fine with this place existing. I'll continue to support my habits here.

This lady has black hair, she is older and definitely should not be a cashier. Most cashiers ask for your rewards card. She just rang up the bag of ice i set on the counter. I thought that was rude. Her facial expressions where not for someone who deals with the public. I have an amputated thumb less than 2 weeks ago. When she was rude to me I asked her if she could put the 7lb ice in a bag for me. She says yes I guess I can? Then she drops the bag on the counter. I asked her mam you did not need to drop it. She says it is heavy. I show her my thumb which is an open wound. She says to me don't give me an attitude? I said give you an attitude? Mam keep the change I will never stop back. This is the second employee that treated me like dirt. The last one was a 3rd shift employee. I rarely stop at this location. This store is quick bring them in and push them out. I so miss Speedway that used to be on Sunset Dr and Hwy 164 / 59. Stay away from this store if you are a senior. Because it don't matter, get them in get them and get the out is what this location does. Very poor management for the weekend crew or second or third shift. I told he keep the change you must need it. I hope she does not have a dog. If she does, I do know what the poor dog goes through. This lady I never seen there before. Yet this lady to me and my opinion is a very dangerous person. She may of had a bad night. Yet this is the type of person who could bring a gun to work and shoot every body there. Beware of her.

The checkout in liquor was quick and convenient. They also had a tasting in the liquor dept of a Tito's spritz that was pretty good. Then, we had to grab a few other things in the store so walked through pretty quickly with a targeted attack. It's easy to get distracted here as they just pack so much in to every aisle. Their prices are pretty comparable to other grocery stores but they do have some good sales. The vibe is a little chaotic, similar to a Costco sometimes. That being said, they have a phenomenal selection of cheese with local and commercial offerings. We would come back but perhaps during off hours so as to not have to navigate a chaotic parking lot.

Update, June 16, 2026:…read more Some of us have good reason to use self-check, especially with many items. The clerks at the other lanes, being in a hurry of course, must just toss everything willy-nilly into a bag (and they'd do exactly the same, even if using the boxes (yes, reusable BOXES) that I bring, and my reusable double paper bags with handles. I pack my stuff a certain way for the ride back home -- so, thanks but no thanks to foregoing the self-check. But yeah, Stan D., nearly always a technical problem at the POS checkout. For both of our last two visits, 2 of 3 self-checks OUT OF ORDER . . . with no one, the entire time, coming around to make any effort, of any kind, to get them up and running. As a bonus -- During my LONG time spend in what should be a fast process (with food thawing the entire time), there's the same ongoing and repeated problem in the lane that WAS "working": frequent yawps of "Please place item on the belt", after it had, of course, already been scanned correctly and, um, DUH, correctly placed onto the belt. Retrieve it from the big pile of done stuff, bring it back, put it onto the belt (AGAIN), swear, hold mock pistol against your temple, pull the mock trigger. The latest 20-minute odyssey, behind just ONE other person, took that long precisely for that reason. (Without those asinine and infuriating glitches, my scanning and paying would be among the fastest in history.) This sh*t no longer feels like a reasonable price to pay, in exchange for what is still, in my view, an excellent selection and good prices (compared to the joke known as Pick 'n Save, and the lovely but costly Sendik's).

Not that it tasted bad at all, I assumed grilled panini meant ciabatta and also GRILLED. They offer lots of great well known brands and products such as fresh cheese curds (yes!) and local brands. There's an area for home goods near the front of the store although I haven't checked it out yet, but it appears to be seasonal merchandise and decorative things. They have a good selection of alcohol and I always find great deals on wine. Staff is always friendly and the self checkouts are located near the service desk so someone is always there to assist if needed! I highly recommend this location.

Walking over to Whole Foods was a lot easier than risking my life crossing the street here! The store was bright and in good condition. Like most grocery stores, any employee I encountered was not concerned with me and went about their business. The pasta sauce I found was naturally more expensive than across the street at Meijer, but I liked that it was from a family brand instead of some giant conglomerate. The self-checkout line was pretty long so I went with a cashier and she was more pleasant than your average Kroger employee, so I'll call that a win.

Groppi Food Market expecting to grab a sandwich. Somehow, about 30 seconds later, I felt like I had accidentally wandered into a tiny neighborhood market somewhere in Italy. This place has character. Everything feels old-school in the best possible way--beautifully organized produce, fresh meats, Italian sausages (including garlic Italian sausage and something appropriately called the "Angry Italian"), cheeses, olive oils, wines, prepared foods, and enough little discoveries on the shelves to make you forget you originally came in for lunch. Then there's the deli. The gentleman making sandwiches looked like he had stepped directly out of a 1920s movie: tall, slender, full mustache, old-school cap--the whole look. I half expected him to hand me my sandwich and then go outside and start a Model T. But beyond the style, he was incredibly welcoming, courteous, and genuinely added to the charm of the place. I ordered the turkey panini and had them make it spicy. Fantastic. The bread was perfectly toasted--crisp on the outside without being destroyed by the panini press--and the sandwich itself was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I wanted. But here's where Groppi really got me. I took my sandwich and a bottle of San Pellegrino out to their little garden/patio area. It was one of those perfect Milwaukee fall afternoons: sweater weather, leaves falling from the trees, sunshine coming through the branches, and I'm sitting there eating this ridiculously good Italian sandwich thinking, Where has this place been hiding? They even have a bar in the back where you can enjoy your sandwich with a glass of wine, do a wine tasting, or grab another drink. They also make hot prepared foods--including mac and cheese and other meals you can take home--so this isn't just a deli. It's part neighborhood grocery store, part Italian market, part deli, part bar, and part little neighborhood escape. You can come here to grocery shop. You can come for fresh meat and sausage. You can grab a sandwich. You can sit outside with lunch. You can have a glass of wine. Or, apparently, you can walk in for a sandwich and spend the next hour pretending you're on vacation in a tiny Italian neighborhood. Absolutely loved this place. One of those Milwaukee gems that makes exploring the city worth it.
