This service seemed ideal for a single mother like myself. During the tyre change, they broke my sensor and asked me to drive it to the garage to have it fixed. I asked if I needed an appointment and they said no, just come any time. When I got there, the person wasn't around! So I had to go back an hour later. And they couldn't fix it.  There was no apology, no sense of duty or responsibility. I had to leave to get my kids from school and heard nothing from them. I sent a few messages and they responded with "bring it in for investigation"! Was I supposed to drop everything and hang around the garage to wait endlessly while they did this? Why had I paid for a mobile service?  Since then, they have ignored all my messages. Their intimidating behaviour makes me scared to go back to the garage to try and retrieve the sensor. I will have to take it to my own garage to get it sorted at my own expense, having not had any offer of refund or anything at all from them.  Appalling service designed to take advantage of vulnerable women.

Recently I had cause to take my car into a local garage because I kept hearing a clunking sound…read morewhenever I went over a bump. After a two hour inspection I was told that they could find nothing wrong with the car, but the two front tyres they'd replaced eight months earlier both needed replacing. Obviously I was a little annoyed as unless you're driving several hundred miles a week you don't expect to have to replace your tyres after only eight months. Still, I could see myself that they did need to be replaced, though I was reluctant to have them done at that garage. It's not just that they replaced those tyres eight months ago. It's not just that it took them over an hour to fit them while I waited. It was more that they charge £67 a tyre plus a fitting fee, so replacing both front tyres there would have cost me over £140, and with the MOT and road tax coming in the next few months that's an expense I would rather have avoided. Fortunately, someone recommended the Kirky Tyre Centre to me, and I'm very glad they did. My garage gave me the choice of just one type of tyre, not a brand name. Kirky Tyre Centre gave me the option to have one of four types of tyre. My garage quoted me £67 per tyre, plus fitting, for an unbranded Polish piece of rubbarised crap. Kirky Tyre Centre quoted less than that for a branded tyre. In the end I went for a brand I didn't know, but which the owner of the garage said he had on his own car. The price he quoted - £41 a tyre, fitting included. I was ecstatic. I drove over there, pulled into their little garage, and they immediately started work. I braced myself for the same long wait I'd experienced in my own garage, but ten minutes later - if that - the job was done. And the tyres - they may not be a brand name but one look is enough to know they're better quality than the ones I had on it. Contrary to what most men might have you believe, testicles do not give you an immediate and exhaustive knowledge of the inner workings of a car, and there are plenty of garages who will take advantage of your ignorance to charge as much as they can for work that isn't needed. Kirky Tyre Centre is not such a place. They replaced my front tyres, checked the back and said they had plenty of life left in them, and charged me just £82 for the work - £60 less than my local garage. Best of all, the staff are actual human beings who don't try to induce a migraine by babbling about things you can't possibly understand. They talk clearly, politely and with smiles on their faces. I will be taking my car back to Kirky Tyre Centre whenever I need work done on my tyres, and trusting their recommendation for other garages if I need other work done. Highly recommended.

Went for an MOT, only for the car to fail. I understand these things happen from time to time, but…read morewhat I didn't expect was for the time it would take for the car to get fixed. It took me two visits of asking for an update before a part was mysteriously sourced within ten minutes of my second visit. I was then quoted a rather high repair bill but due to desperation, I agreed to get it done, on the assumption that it would also be re-MOT'd at the end of it. I was phoned on the day, after the repairs were done, to be told that I would not be getting an MOT and if I wanted one, due to the time it took to get repaired, I would have to pay full price again. I ultimately took my business elsewhere and regret ever going there.

When i went to drop my car off I said to my friend I had a bad feeling and no chance was my car going to pass and guess what it failed. I was quoted £145 to replace a cracked bolt in the suspension. When i phoned around I was told £99 was the max. I queried the cost and £42 was immediately taken off. The pick up time was put back and back as they were having problems getting some old screws off when I eventually did pick up the car I drove to the top of the road and had to come back. Ever time I turned the steering wheel the car shuddered. After twenty minutes of" looking over" the car the Manager returned to say nothing was wrong. When I left the garage the problem had magically disappeared.I will never use or recommend this garage again and if I had seen the previous review I would not have booked. No point getting a cheap MOT when you have no faith in the integrity of the garage. If I knew where the old guy who used to work there had gone I would go there next year but will definitely not be coming back to this place. Avoid!

Having moved to the area 4 years ago I set about looking for a local garage that I could trust for…read moreMOT's and general repairs. As an engineer myself and son of a retired mechanic (not to mention a bit of a petrolhead) I have been working on cars since I was waist high, so finding somewhere I trust completely is a tall order but John Brady's have managed just that. My first visit here was to have an MOT carried out where I found the garage staff to be pleasant and friendly. They also took some time to chat about my car and build confidence that they knew what they were talking about. Following visits for MOT's on both mine and my wife's cars have built a good, trusting relationship with John Brady's. When I used them to price some specialist tyres for my track car they were good enough to call around their suppliers and then price match my usual online supplier. I have found them to be very reasonable for normal road tyres for various cars now. I have also had some diagnostics and repairs carried out when I haven't had the time or tooling to do it myself and have found the pricing to be very fair. The well lit MOT bay and workshop are visible through the large windows in the reception area showing that they have nothing to hide (anyone who has been in a dim lit back street garage will know...). In summary - this is a friendly, trustworthy garage who will take the time to explain any work required and do it to high standards for fair prices. Give them a try.

I contacted Kwik Fit who quoted a reasonable price to do the work, but I also contacted National Tyres and their price was only slightly higher. I wasn't completely comfortable with Kwik Fit (though they ended up doing the work) so I took the car to National Tyres, willing to pay a little more to get the job done by a mechanic who inspired confidence. What a mistake! When I arrived I was made to wait for more than half an hour because the guy supposedly in charge, the Archbishop of Canterbury's twin, I thought, though my mother-in-law believed Worzel Gummidge would be a more accurate comparison, seemed more anxious to chat to a customer who was, admittedly, there before us and deal with a guy who came in ten minutes after us rather than look our way. Finally he came over and put my car up on the ramp. He turned on the engine, which is fair enough because I suppose you need the engine running to see certain problems, hoisted it up and immediately confirmed the problem was with the exhaust. He went to get the part he needed to fix it, brought it through and...decided immediately it was the wrong part. He then started looking through books to find the right part. He then made a phone call to find the right part. He then had another mechanic look at it. He then made another phone call. All the while the car engine is running and there's not a damn thing I can do about it. Finally he decides it's going to take a while so he lowers the car and switches off the engine. Perfect. Now all he has to do is find the right part. Can he? No. My exhaust, it seems, is completely unlike any he has seen before. This does not inspire confidence in me. He makes another phone call and finally finds what he thinks is the right part. Fine. Except he tells me it will take at least an hour to get it delivered and it will cost me double his original quotation. In the end I took it back to Kwik Fit and they did it for less than his original quotation. The truly ridiculous bit - the part he had in the first place was the right part for the job and all he had to do was fit it. Instead he talked himself out of a job by insisting on doubling the price, though in all honesty after the shoddy treatment I received I'd already made up my mind to go elsewhere. A ludicrous experience and one I will not be repeating.

I did not hesitate to return when my Son needed a new tyre after finding a bulge in his tyre and before going of on a trip on Sunday, Paul could not go himself as he was working four 12 hour shifts before his trip. The owner was busy with another customer but quickly acknowledged me and came over to speak as soon as he could. Paul's tyre size is unusual and he first thought that I would have to wait until Monday, bu the soon found one for me and asked if I could return in 30 minutes. When I came back new tyre in place he did explain that the wheel had been damaged also and he had repaired it as well the day was saved and Paul went off yesterday safe in the knowledge that his tyres were all save.

Hi all, here is my review for turbo tyres. Firstly I would like to mention I'm just a regular…read morecustomer and not in any way related to the owner. And had never met the owner until my first visit. I've done the sensible thing, and before writing this review decided to use turbo tyres services on a few occassions just to get know the place. ** notes - also recommended this place to partner so I'm speaking on behalf of her experience as well. 1st visit was to purchase a couple of part worn tyres just to help my car pass it's mot. ( as this had been advised by the chap who does the servicing on my car) I payed £50 for 2 front tyres 7mm depth almost new in other words. Same make of tyre for both. Have had no problem with the tyres. 2nd visit back tyre continuously needing pumped up. When the tyre was removed the owner pointed out the bubbling seeping from the edge of the alloy wheel and the tyre. This was very apparent after he sprayed the tyre and rim with a little liquid. Was told tyre was good but rim needed repaired. Rim was grinded and he replaced the valve for the tyre total cost £20-£25 again had no problems with tyres since they've been repaired. 3rd 4th and 5th visits, were all for my partners car. Again tyres needed replacing as well as valves on a couple of them. No problems and neither of us have ever had to return after work has been carried out. I like the fact that it's one mature guy and not a team of guys all giving different advice. I also liked the fact that on removing the wheels if there was any problems with the discs or pads the chap at turbo tyres pointed out and showed me. This was important as I had not noticed that my left side brake pad had basically no wear on the pad. The car wasn't pulling to the one side or giving any squeals upon braking. This advice was not only important but saved me money as I could have damaged the break disc. I'm like most consumers I want as much as I can for as little as possible. You definitely get that here at turbo tyres, And myself and partner felt confident after leaving the premises. Also you'll find like a lot of places the more you use the less you'll pay. Apologies for ranting on. But definitely give this guy at turbo tyres a go you won't regret it. Peter and Audur
