There is sometimes a queue but you never need to wait long. They offer all different types of tyres and will get you what suits you for your budget. They kept my car for two weeks, it was driven every other day. They told lie after lie about them working on it stating it was in the garage being worked on when, in fact fact my tracker showed it had been parked 2 streets away for 3 days. The receptionist was a sneering insolent individual who just just shouts over any challenge made about their supposed service. She was THEE most OBNOXIOUS individual I have had to deal with in a long time. Making cheeky comments and talking over me. I gave up trying to find anything out. When I finally got my car back, I found the paint work on my front bumper has been scratched off, but there would be absolutely no point in contacting them as they would just lie, again. It was a real find - a small, local garage which believes in good customer service and won't rip you off. The guys who work here are always really friendly - if you just stop for petrol they even come out and fill up your car for you and they're always up for a chat and a laugh. But where I find them invaluable is all the little problems I've had with my cars over the years (I've had very bad luck when it comes to car tyres!) and the fact that they've always been honest, reliable and incredibly good value for money. One time I had a flat tyre, it was just the tyre valve and they charged me £5 to fix it. Another time, I had a nail in my tyre, it cost £10 to fix it. Another time I hit a pothole and buckled my wheel - rather than sting me for a new wheel, they recommended a local reconditioning place that would knock it back into shape for £20, which saved me a fortune. Even when I did need a new tyre, they have really reasonable prices and a new tyre from here cost me £40 (this was about 5 years ago now) when National Tyres wanted to charge me £70. I have no doubt at all that this place will not rip you off or charge you for work that doesn't need done and I can't recommend them highly enough - I will now drive from Shawlands past at least half a dozen other garages to take my car here.

Halfords was closed on the bank holiday but apparently it's ok to leave your car in the carpark and stick the keys through the door (even though it says not to on the door). I got a call early on Tuesday morning to check what the car needed (a new drive shaft) and they quoted me just over £300 to get it done. I was worrying later that afternoon that I hadn't heard anything, and they weren't great at answering the phone. I got through about 4pm and they confirmed it would be ready in an hour. When I arrived, the car was ready to go and my payment was collected (bang on the quote he'd given me that morning). The guy was super friendly and helpful with good banter, and even showed me my broken drive shaft. I believe the parts come with a 12 month warranty as well. While Halfords isn't usually my garage of choice, I was pretty impressed with their speed, price and customer service.

It's a small operation, nothing fancy at all. A jet wash, small workshop, couple of jacks and a portacabin cafe. No-nonsense, fast service, no problem. Would use again.
