It was a real find - a small, local garage which believes in good customer service and won't rip you off. The guys who work here are always really friendly - if you just stop for petrol they even come out and fill up your car for you and they're always up for a chat and a laugh. But where I find them invaluable is all the little problems I've had with my cars over the years (I've had very bad luck when it comes to car tyres!) and the fact that they've always been honest, reliable and incredibly good value for money. One time I had a flat tyre, it was just the tyre valve and they charged me £5 to fix it. Another time, I had a nail in my tyre, it cost £10 to fix it. Another time I hit a pothole and buckled my wheel - rather than sting me for a new wheel, they recommended a local reconditioning place that would knock it back into shape for £20, which saved me a fortune. Even when I did need a new tyre, they have really reasonable prices and a new tyre from here cost me £40 (this was about 5 years ago now) when National Tyres wanted to charge me £70. I have no doubt at all that this place will not rip you off or charge you for work that doesn't need done and I can't recommend them highly enough - I will now drive from Shawlands past at least half a dozen other garages to take my car here.

This service seemed ideal for a single mother like myself. During the tyre change, they broke my sensor and asked me to drive it to the garage to have it fixed. I asked if I needed an appointment and they said no, just come any time. When I got there, the person wasn't around! So I had to go back an hour later. And they couldn't fix it.  There was no apology, no sense of duty or responsibility. I had to leave to get my kids from school and heard nothing from them. I sent a few messages and they responded with "bring it in for investigation"! Was I supposed to drop everything and hang around the garage to wait endlessly while they did this? Why had I paid for a mobile service?  Since then, they have ignored all my messages. Their intimidating behaviour makes me scared to go back to the garage to try and retrieve the sensor. I will have to take it to my own garage to get it sorted at my own expense, having not had any offer of refund or anything at all from them.  Appalling service designed to take advantage of vulnerable women.

Recently I had cause to take my car into a local garage because I kept hearing a clunking sound…read morewhenever I went over a bump. After a two hour inspection I was told that they could find nothing wrong with the car, but the two front tyres they'd replaced eight months earlier both needed replacing. Obviously I was a little annoyed as unless you're driving several hundred miles a week you don't expect to have to replace your tyres after only eight months. Still, I could see myself that they did need to be replaced, though I was reluctant to have them done at that garage. It's not just that they replaced those tyres eight months ago. It's not just that it took them over an hour to fit them while I waited. It was more that they charge £67 a tyre plus a fitting fee, so replacing both front tyres there would have cost me over £140, and with the MOT and road tax coming in the next few months that's an expense I would rather have avoided. Fortunately, someone recommended the Kirky Tyre Centre to me, and I'm very glad they did. My garage gave me the choice of just one type of tyre, not a brand name. Kirky Tyre Centre gave me the option to have one of four types of tyre. My garage quoted me £67 per tyre, plus fitting, for an unbranded Polish piece of rubbarised crap. Kirky Tyre Centre quoted less than that for a branded tyre. In the end I went for a brand I didn't know, but which the owner of the garage said he had on his own car. The price he quoted - £41 a tyre, fitting included. I was ecstatic. I drove over there, pulled into their little garage, and they immediately started work. I braced myself for the same long wait I'd experienced in my own garage, but ten minutes later - if that - the job was done. And the tyres - they may not be a brand name but one look is enough to know they're better quality than the ones I had on it. Contrary to what most men might have you believe, testicles do not give you an immediate and exhaustive knowledge of the inner workings of a car, and there are plenty of garages who will take advantage of your ignorance to charge as much as they can for work that isn't needed. Kirky Tyre Centre is not such a place. They replaced my front tyres, checked the back and said they had plenty of life left in them, and charged me just £82 for the work - £60 less than my local garage. Best of all, the staff are actual human beings who don't try to induce a migraine by babbling about things you can't possibly understand. They talk clearly, politely and with smiles on their faces. I will be taking my car back to Kirky Tyre Centre whenever I need work done on my tyres, and trusting their recommendation for other garages if I need other work done. Highly recommended.

I used this company to repair a slow puncture, all fine. Unfortunately I got another puncture a…read moreweek later (these things happen), but this time I was told needed all my tyres replaced (different very shady mechanic this time) and they wanted £400 quid for the pleasure. It was very suspect, so I took got the puncture repaired and no tyres replaced. I took the car to my own mechanic and he confirmed what I suspected, that I had over 3 mm of tread left and that this companies claims were exaggerated. I reported them to trading standards.

I ain't been having a good couple of months for a variety of reasons and the flat tyre I got on Sunday just added to the list of problems. Now I hate going to these type of places as they usually cost a fortune and they try and sell you loads of extras that you don't actually need. I imagined this place would be the same but I was pleasantly surprised. Service was good with friendly staff and also super quick, I was in and out in 20 mins. Nobody tried to sell me anything extra and I just needed a puncture repair which seemed an ok price at £22 quid. So really all good and open from 10am - 4pm on a Sunday and longer the rest of the week I would imagine. I can't bring myself to give it 5 stars due to the type of business it is, but on my experience at the weekend it was clearly 4 or 5 stars that it deserves. I would be happy to go back in the future and they even gave me done money off vouchers for future work to encourage me to do so.

Really dreadful car store…read more Very unhelpful and grumpy Bought something and literally 30mins later went back as the item was the wrong size, I had left my receipt in the house, wouldn't issue a return without it, even tho he was the one that served me not 30 mins prior and obviously remembered me as I walked in he asked if I forgot something from being in previous. Made me go all the way back to the house, get the receipt and drive back, then as I got there he was even more unhelpful as he had started cashing up the till even though the store was still to be open 15 more mins(I had previously checked that I would have time to return) Really bad customer service and wasted my time so much I didn't wish to buy the correct size item from the store

My husband tried to figure out what the problem was, thought it could be the car battery was dead. The shop is right across the street from Morrison's which was very convenient for us. We went to the shop to get a new battery and the staff and manager were very friendly and helpful. They even offered to help us change the battery! My experience told me staff at these shops always recommend u n try to convince u to get the most expensive ones. We were a bit worried abt we would get overcharged but when we were back home to check the price on the Internet, it's very reasonable, and with great service! The commodities displayed in the shop are neat n there's a good range of choices plus everything looks very clean. I think the manager is a towbar expert but they also sell lots of other car stuff. The store is definitely a well managed hidden gem providing honest prices. We wish we discovered it earlier!!

I did not hesitate to return when my Son needed a new tyre after finding a bulge in his tyre and before going of on a trip on Sunday, Paul could not go himself as he was working four 12 hour shifts before his trip. The owner was busy with another customer but quickly acknowledged me and came over to speak as soon as he could. Paul's tyre size is unusual and he first thought that I would have to wait until Monday, bu the soon found one for me and asked if I could return in 30 minutes. When I came back new tyre in place he did explain that the wheel had been damaged also and he had repaired it as well the day was saved and Paul went off yesterday safe in the knowledge that his tyres were all save.

And had never met the owner until my first visit. I've done the sensible thing, and before writing this review decided to use turbo tyres services on a few occassions just to get know the place. ** notes - also recommended this place to partner so I'm speaking on behalf of her experience as well. 1st visit was to purchase a couple of part worn tyres just to help my car pass it's mot. ( as this had been advised by the chap who does the servicing on my car) I payed £50 for 2 front tyres 7mm depth almost new in other words. Same make of tyre for both. Have had no problem with the tyres. 2nd visit back tyre continuously needing pumped up. When the tyre was removed the owner pointed out the bubbling seeping from the edge of the alloy wheel and the tyre. This was very apparent after he sprayed the tyre and rim with a little liquid. Was told tyre was good but rim needed repaired. Rim was grinded and he replaced the valve for the tyre total cost £20-£25 again had no problems with tyres since they've been repaired. 3rd 4th and 5th visits, were all for my partners car. Again tyres needed replacing as well as valves on a couple of them. No problems and neither of us have ever had to return after work has been carried out. I like the fact that it's one mature guy and not a team of guys all giving different advice. I also liked the fact that on removing the wheels if there was any problems with the discs or pads the chap at turbo tyres pointed out and showed me. This was important as I had not noticed that my left side brake pad had basically no wear on the pad. The car wasn't pulling to the one side or giving any squeals upon braking. This advice was not only important but saved me money as I could have damaged the break disc. I'm like most consumers I want as much as I can for as little as possible. You definitely get that here at turbo tyres, And myself and partner felt confident after leaving the premises. Also you'll find like a lot of places the more you use the less you'll pay.
