I have been taking my V…read morereg Seat here for repairs and MOT testing for the past two years and it's been clear to me on each and every visit that customer service is their top priority. The garage is a member of the Good Garage Scheme and quite rightly so. Right from booking an appointment you are made to feel important. The mechanics speak to you in a language you can understand and explain in detail what is wrong and why the repairs are needed. Repairs are done in a timely manner and are reasonably priced. They can usually get me booked in within the week, give regular communications throughout the day as to the status of the repairs and the costs and more often than not the bill is £50-£100 less than quotedand never more. I was worried about taking my car to a small independant garage; however having sampled both a large chain and this small garage I can say that small is definately best. Their business depends on regular custom and word of mouth and they can't afford to deliver poor serviceand they don't! Big garages can get away with poor customer service because there are many more customers out there who haven't yet experienced their poor service. My advice if looking for a garage in the area would be to try Knox Brothers.

It took me two visits of asking for an update before a part was mysteriously sourced within ten minutes of my second visit. I was then quoted a rather high repair bill but due to desperation, I agreed to get it done, on the assumption that it would also be re-MOT'd at the end of it. I was phoned on the day, after the repairs were done, to be told that I would not be getting an MOT and if I wanted one, due to the time it took to get repaired, I would have to pay full price again. I ultimately took my business elsewhere and regret ever going there.

When i went to drop my car off I said to my friend I had a bad feeling and no chance was my car going to pass and guess what it failed. I was quoted £145 to replace a cracked bolt in the suspension. When i phoned around I was told £99 was the max. I queried the cost and £42 was immediately taken off. The pick up time was put back and back as they were having problems getting some old screws off when I eventually did pick up the car I drove to the top of the road and had to come back. Ever time I turned the steering wheel the car shuddered. After twenty minutes of" looking over" the car the Manager returned to say nothing was wrong. When I left the garage the problem had magically disappeared.I will never use or recommend this garage again and if I had seen the previous review I would not have booked. No point getting a cheap MOT when you have no faith in the integrity of the garage. If I knew where the old guy who used to work there had gone I would go there next year but will definitely not be coming back to this place. Avoid!

Phoned up first thing in the morning and was told to bring it in. They had a look, quoted £50 which was extremely good considering they were busy and I wasn't booked in. I joked about it happening on my birthday. They fixed the car quickly but wouldn't take any money off of me, telling me it was a birthday gift. It really made my day to hear that. On the day of retest the were very rude and unprofessional. They assumed that my handbrake was not well adjusted. This was only mentioned in the retest with no paperwork proving that and it was not mentioned in the MOT certificate which would make sense because the Brakes were changed before the MOT. I decide to go to another MOT centre and they highlighted the play in the inner track pad end as advisories that need to be monitored and it was not excessive. This was exactly what the MOT certificate from June stated. So what 2 MOT centres highlighted as advisories was a major defect according to Byres Road Garage.

The work was done in two hours and seems to be top-notch. I'll certainly use them again. Very happy indeed.

Will update this review if I ever get my clutch job done by these guys…read more Let's start with the fact that I have called multiple times looking to try and get my car booked in only to be told, I will be called back later that day only never to get a call back at all that day or days after. I call again a few days later they said they phoned, yet I have no missed calls or voice messages from them. I was told about 3 weeks ago the book in lead time was about 3 weeks, as of writing this review and 3 weeks later it's now 6 weeks. Why I couldn't get booked in 3 weeks ago considering I have told you have the parts in hand as well. So I was told they would look to get OEM parts since my car is fairly new from the manufacturer, cool no problem with that. However they said the lead time of getting an OEM flywheel in was 6 weeks. £560 odd was the quote for the part. I was quite easily able to get a SACH Preformance flywheel which is the same or better than OEM for £345 within days from Germany. I can't recommend as of right now.

I had the RAC looking at it and, as this was an RAC approved garage, I decided to book it. 1) I asked them to flush the cooling system: just remove coolant and then refill it. Something that is done for about £60,00. They held the van for three long days and, when they were done, they said they found two loose pipes and secured them with jubilee clips!!! As far as I know, today a quality garage will use spring-band-clamps to secure aircon tubes etc, especially on the Vauxhall Vivaro. When I collected the van I was charged £300,00 for the flush!!!! Everyone is shocked by this one!!! Nobody ever heard of such a fee for a coolant flush. I drove from the garage and in about 4 miles from the garage my engine started to smoke like it never did before. The engine overheated and I had to stop. I called them and they actually invited me back to the garage. I thanked them and very slowly took the vehicle to my house. No doubt, they did not just flush the engine. After my complaint was rejected by an email from the garage, and I did not receive a response from their registered address: Limetree Garage, Glasgow Road, Hamilton, ML3 0RA, I filed a lawsuit against Kerr-Tech Automotive Ltd, trading at Rutherglen. Now keep in mind that "Arnold Clark Motor Store", told me in a previous similar situation, in June this Year, and I quote, " YOU CAN'T REPAIR A TUBELESS TYRE" end quote, and then selling me a NEW Tyre, I was quite surprised, but elated that my Tyre, would be repaired if needed. I showed-up 10 Minutes early, met Stewart, he drove my car into the Garage Bay, identified a Nail was lodged in the Tyre, then fixed that with a plug. He showed me the kit they use for this, and explained the procedure they used, which was both interesting and informative. This took maybe 15 Minutes in total. The charge was insignificant, and once again, I am 100% satisfied, and totally secure in the work Stewart carried out for me today. Such a relief to know my Car maintenance needs are so conveniently available, and in such trustworthy hands! Highly recommended!
