Sean at Kiel-fit Oban stayed open until we were able to get the tyre to him. He helped us immediately, was friendly and charged us a very reasonable price. I cannot rate this garage and they three guys that I dealt with highly enough! Professional,…read morefriendly, knowledgeable and so very helpful! I got recovered and taken here last week, after splitting my tyre on a pot hole! They completely turned a bit of a c**p situation into a such a positive experience! I had been travelling around Scotland for the past week in a campervan that was new to me, which had 20" alloys, therefore I was so very lucky that Brian had decided to get some tyres in to fit these the week before, as they are not standard and not usually in stock! Brian was in on his day off and spent a lot of time explaining and helping me understand about wheels and tyres and gave me so much knowledge for my future travels! Mark showed me that I had also damaged my wheel, which highlighted to me how honest and conscientious they are! They did their absolute best to help with this and then swapped my damaged wheel and tyre to the back for my journey home, explaining that the front takes the majority of any impact and therefore this would be much safer! ... I would never have thought of this and surely they have gone way up and beyond any 'normal' customer service! The other guy (whose name I unfortunately did not get), gave me a full visual inspection report on my tyres (something which I had asked at a previous kwik fit, and was told 'oh there ok'!), he was brilliant! He also asked me if I had heard a knocking noise?, to which I replied 'yes', he then told me what this was and advised me to take it to my mechanic as soon as I return! They did not charge me for anything apart from the tyre and the fitting! I seriously, cannot thank these guys enough and cannot rate them high enough! I am pleased to say, thanks to them, I returned home to Cornwall safely. I have returned feedback to their Operations Manager and I hope they are commended on their service :) A BIG THANK YOU GUYS!!!!

I had to question something and was met with a really aggressive response. I felt very uneasy. I will never go here again and wouldn't recommend that anyone else does either.

I first found it when I worked in East…read moreKilbride and occasionally detoured through Carmunnock if the bypass from Glasgow was closed for any reason. It was a real find - a small, local garage which believes in good customer service and won't rip you off. The guys who work here are always really friendly - if you just stop for petrol they even come out and fill up your car for you and they're always up for a chat and a laugh. But where I find them invaluable is all the little problems I've had with my cars over the years (I've had very bad luck when it comes to car tyres!) and the fact that they've always been honest, reliable and incredibly good value for money. One time I had a flat tyre, it was just the tyre valve and they charged me £5 to fix it. Another time, I had a nail in my tyre, it cost £10 to fix it. Another time I hit a pothole and buckled my wheel - rather than sting me for a new wheel, they recommended a local reconditioning place that would knock it back into shape for £20, which saved me a fortune. Even when I did need a new tyre, they have really reasonable prices and a new tyre from here cost me £40 (this was about 5 years ago now) when National Tyres wanted to charge me £70. I have no doubt at all that this place will not rip you off or charge you for work that doesn't need done and I can't recommend them highly enough - I will now drive from Shawlands past at least half a dozen other garages to take my car here.

Went for an MOT, only for the car to fail. I understand these things happen from time to time, but…read morewhat I didn't expect was for the time it would take for the car to get fixed. It took me two visits of asking for an update before a part was mysteriously sourced within ten minutes of my second visit. I was then quoted a rather high repair bill but due to desperation, I agreed to get it done, on the assumption that it would also be re-MOT'd at the end of it. I was phoned on the day, after the repairs were done, to be told that I would not be getting an MOT and if I wanted one, due to the time it took to get repaired, I would have to pay full price again. I ultimately took my business elsewhere and regret ever going there.

When i went to drop my car off I said to my friend I had a bad feeling and no chance was my car going to pass and guess what it failed. I was quoted £145 to replace a cracked bolt in the suspension. When i phoned around I was told £99 was the max. I queried the cost and £42 was immediately taken off. The pick up time was put back and back as they were having problems getting some old screws off when I eventually did pick up the car I drove to the top of the road and had to come back. Ever time I turned the steering wheel the car shuddered. After twenty minutes of" looking over" the car the Manager returned to say nothing was wrong. When I left the garage the problem had magically disappeared.I will never use or recommend this garage again and if I had seen the previous review I would not have booked. No point getting a cheap MOT when you have no faith in the integrity of the garage. If I knew where the old guy who used to work there had gone I would go there next year but will definitely not be coming back to this place. Avoid!

I paid for a mobile service so that my punctured tyre could be changed at my home for convenience,…read moredue to kids and work constraints. This service seemed ideal for a single mother like myself. During the tyre change, they broke my sensor and asked me to drive it to the garage to have it fixed. I asked if I needed an appointment and they said no, just come any time. When I got there, the person wasn't around! So I had to go back an hour later. And they couldn't fix it.  There was no apology, no sense of duty or responsibility. I had to leave to get my kids from school and heard nothing from them. I sent a few messages and they responded with "bring it in for investigation"! Was I supposed to drop everything and hang around the garage to wait endlessly while they did this? Why had I paid for a mobile service?  Since then, they have ignored all my messages. Their intimidating behaviour makes me scared to go back to the garage to try and retrieve the sensor. I will have to take it to my own garage to get it sorted at my own expense, having not had any offer of refund or anything at all from them.  Appalling service designed to take advantage of vulnerable women.

Recently I had cause to take my car into a local garage because I kept hearing a clunking sound…read morewhenever I went over a bump. After a two hour inspection I was told that they could find nothing wrong with the car, but the two front tyres they'd replaced eight months earlier both needed replacing. Obviously I was a little annoyed as unless you're driving several hundred miles a week you don't expect to have to replace your tyres after only eight months. Still, I could see myself that they did need to be replaced, though I was reluctant to have them done at that garage. It's not just that they replaced those tyres eight months ago. It's not just that it took them over an hour to fit them while I waited. It was more that they charge £67 a tyre plus a fitting fee, so replacing both front tyres there would have cost me over £140, and with the MOT and road tax coming in the next few months that's an expense I would rather have avoided. Fortunately, someone recommended the Kirky Tyre Centre to me, and I'm very glad they did. My garage gave me the choice of just one type of tyre, not a brand name. Kirky Tyre Centre gave me the option to have one of four types of tyre. My garage quoted me £67 per tyre, plus fitting, for an unbranded Polish piece of rubbarised crap. Kirky Tyre Centre quoted less than that for a branded tyre. In the end I went for a brand I didn't know, but which the owner of the garage said he had on his own car. The price he quoted - £41 a tyre, fitting included. I was ecstatic. I drove over there, pulled into their little garage, and they immediately started work. I braced myself for the same long wait I'd experienced in my own garage, but ten minutes later - if that - the job was done. And the tyres - they may not be a brand name but one look is enough to know they're better quality than the ones I had on it. Contrary to what most men might have you believe, testicles do not give you an immediate and exhaustive knowledge of the inner workings of a car, and there are plenty of garages who will take advantage of your ignorance to charge as much as they can for work that isn't needed. Kirky Tyre Centre is not such a place. They replaced my front tyres, checked the back and said they had plenty of life left in them, and charged me just £82 for the work - £60 less than my local garage. Best of all, the staff are actual human beings who don't try to induce a migraine by babbling about things you can't possibly understand. They talk clearly, politely and with smiles on their faces. I will be taking my car back to Kirky Tyre Centre whenever I need work done on my tyres, and trusting their recommendation for other garages if I need other work done. Highly recommended.
