While the repair was being completed, I found the necessary replacement part on line for £38.50 each. On further investigation, this repair should have cost in the region of £200. The subsequent complaint was dismissed and dealt with unsympathetically. I would urge anyone using the services of this garage to get quotations elsewhere and avoid paying for anything in advance.

Don't bother getting your MOT here... got spoken down to and offered absolutely no help by the man…read moredoing the test. Immediately acted up when I said I'd go elsewhere. Got told they'd fix something for me so I could pass the MOT, then once I got there told they don't do that there. Now there's no more appointments available within the two week retest period and I'm told I can't go elsewhere despite having no appointments. Other staff were lovely, no fault to them.

I had already had bad experiences with Kwik-Fit which is directly across from here, and I hoped this lot would be better - I was wrong. They replaced the tyre and told me another tyre needed to be replaced. I asked what was wrong with it and was told 'It won't last much longer'. I declined and left after paying for the new tyre. I went to my regular garage the following week and asked them to look at the tyre that the staff member at National Tyres & Autocare said needed replacing. Big surprise, there was and still is - after six months - nothing wrong with the tyre. Avoid at all cost. This is proof enough to let you know exactly what they're about. I dread to think how many people have fallen for this.

Car booked in and left the garage as I had advised I would return around 30 minutes later. Received a call from the garage around 10 minutes after leaving to advise they did not have the tyre. Returned to the garage and discussed it in more detail. Asked why the tyre was not there as it had been pre-booked and pre-paid, why they had not known that before I left and when the tyre would be in. The overweight and unhelpful depot manager could not answer that and simply offered a refund. I asked for his name and his line manager's name to take the complaint further and he refused to provide it. If National Tyres do have a complaints procedure, he either doesn't know what it is or doesn't want to comply with it. Neither is acceptable and should result in disciplinary action if anyone is actually in control of the business. Probably explains the absence of any customers and why the staff were sitting around doing nothing. Awful. Don't waste your time and money on this place.
