The Information Technology program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (Its a College with a PR stunt.) is subpar and I will rate it 0 stars if I could. I did around 50 something credits before I quit so I consider myself to be well informed about the program.

Before you get the Diploma, they make sure that you take ENGLISH 1100 even so other technical institutes don't require that. Students are all welcome, but there are only 35 seats per class, that means it is impossible for you to graduate on time. (Guess what?? They reserve anyone, 10 international students get priority, because they got the money $$$$$.)
1. INFO 1111, This is a gimmick of the CompTIA A+ Certification, you will cram 1000 pages worth of content in 12/13 weeks. The last week is the final exam. Will you learn anything?? Not really, it all depends how well you can cram for exams.
2. INFO 1113, A project management class for students who haven't written a single line a code. OK, if you take INFO 1112 along with it you will realize that there is such a disconnection between writing C# and drawing diagrams because first year students have no clue.
3. PHIL 1150, Formal logic, and, or, basically a money grab, you can learn those magical theories in electrical engineering. You are applying 18 logical rules to solve problems. Thats it. Just practice alot.
4. INFO 1213, Web Application Development: Will you learn something?? No!! At most you will learn how to create a website that is inferior to a template in the textbook. Just buy this book "WEB DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN FOUNDATIONS WITH HTML5" by Terry Felke-Morris
5. Data structure/Object Oriented Programming: This course is in JAVA, the funny thing is, in INFO 1112 you are taking introductory C#, in other words, you will only have logic knowledge to cram Object Oriented class, AND you have to relearn everything!! (You won't do good.)
You won't learn anything to become a software developer, this means designing GUI in visual studio, writing non GUI Java. My prof tried to teach us processing language/Django in 2 classes LOL.
As you can see, with these programming skills, it is impossible to get a developer job in the IT program.
Lets talk about SOCIAL LIFE. It is a joke, you will only get temporary partners when you work but thats about it. 12 weeks at 3 hours a day won't help you earn any certifications, you are on your own to study. Oh, they even put advertisements on the wall just to rub salt in your face.
PS: The START KSA Volunteer program is oversaturated with volunteers. They have to artificially create/limit jobs to create "work experience". (I earned its scholarship so I know what its talking about.)
To even rub more salt in your face, the Government of Canada published these statistics, and a 2 year Diploma from KPU gains about $17/hr with a SUBPAR 75% employment rate. (Not labour force.) I felt obnoxiously cheated.
The 4 year degree makes you have 93% employment rate with $50000/yr, which is about $24/hr. No good!!
I took these stats at 2014-2016. I accessed these stats at 07/25/2017.
