As an undergraduate, I spent a lot of time here from chillin in the courtyard having some lunch, drinking it up in bale, practicing with the crew at the dance studios, or doing an interview at KTUH. Lots of good times here. This area can be utilized by both students and non students. On the ground floor area there is American savings bank, bale (only place on campus that serves drinks), ka Leo student newspaper place, barber shop, etc. On second floor has some dance studios and rooms for students to use and reserve, the dental hygiene program, KTUH (Student run radio station), etc. If you are a currently a student this is a great place to chill and hang out. It is an excellent resource on campus. Sometimes there's events that happen at the hemenway hall courtyard which is cool. There's a drink dispenser vending machine around the area. Hemenway hall is located right next to Sinclair library and not too far from campus center and university ave. across the street. I always come here every week for dance crew practices. So yeah definitely one of the coolest places on campus!

Kamakakūokalani Center for Hawaiian knowledge is awesome. A place to learn and engage in all things…read moreike Hawaii. I feel so at home here and everyone is so welcoming. It has a Native Hawaiian library, the Native Hawaiian Student Services, Kānewai Loi, Native Hawaiian Counselors, and the Native Hawaiian Kumu's offices are housed here. As well as a parking structure on the side $5 before 5pm and $6 afterwards. There are two sets of bathrooms one on the top floor and one on the bottom. I'm so greatful they have this Center! :)

From the architecture to the wall decor to the choice of plants and foliage, everything about it just screams University of Hawaii, where learning about the past guides us to our future. [That's not their mission statement or the like, that's what I like to follow while I'm in school] The internet connection is always on point so that's AMAZING but I can't get the internet to stay on for more than 30 minutes else where on campus. I do have to say that the location of this building in relation to the rest of the buildings on campus is ridiculous!! It's so far! It sucks so bad when your bus is late so you have to run 238419038 miles from SInclair Circle to Kama. Ah, but it's okay. The kumus here are really understanding. Do remember that this is the site of an ancient burial ground so anywhere within the "fence" of ti leaves, please don't smoke, skateboard, or the like. It is our kuleana to respect the past.

The lecture halls are more narrow than most and in my particular class a lot of the seats are missing the dest attachment or it's broken. Other than that, it's super clean and nice inside and out. They should put a sign on the building though.. I got lost finding it my first day.

PROS: I like that the CoE has it's own comp lab. Printing is free. There's also an area with tables you can sit at and eat while doing HW. There are vending machines. AC CONS: Hard to find. Sometimes too cold. Because it's for Eng students, it can get packed. Some cell phones don't get service. I have Verizon, and I don't get reception.

It's located in between Webster Hall and Hamilton Library. In fact, it is pretty much connected right next to Webster Hall. I would sometimes have class here, mostly in room 257. This building represents the Hawaiian and Indo-Pacific Languages Department such as Hawaiian, Samoa, Filipino, Ilokano, Cambodian, Thai, etc. The building has four floors. Most of the department rooms are on the 4th floor. The administrative room is on the 2nd floor. On the bottom floor, there is Spalding 155 auditorium which is a nice place to watch movies or even play movies. The room sometimes holds special events. I remember having ICS class in the room and would always fall asleep. It can hold a lot of people. Just in case there is a natural disaster or something, that room is also a bomb shelter. Many people do not know that. Outside of Spalding 155, there's this open area next to the entrance which is perfect for breakdancing and skating. My crew sometimes roam around there. School of Communications, and there is Academy for Creative Media (ACM) in here too. It's pretty clean for the most part, and it's only three floors up. The classrooms are kind of spacious. Except for the chairs since it's bolted to the floor like any lecture classes, but it's definitely more space to shift your butt and legs around in compared to Spalding. The restrooms are pretty clean too, but not as nice as Webster's. I like the stairs. You walk in, and there is the stairway. While you wait for class, you can sit on it until it starts. Watch it accumulate people and make way for people walking. If you don't like the stairs, stand and be awkward. If you're going upstairs, you can take the elevator too, just located on the left side. By the way, it's slow. The administration office for Communications is located on the third floor, and they're really nice people. I know I wouldn't mind coming to Crawford for any of my classes.

The parking is great, sometimes packed like a can of sardines but they usually do open more parking areas beyond the chain link gated areas. Park on gravel always otherwise you risk being towed. Classrooms are clean and evenly spacious between computer stations. There are bathrooms located on the 1st and 2nd floors and you need a key for both (men & women's)

Besides educating students, WCC has hosted the Windward Ho'olaule'a (festival) with food trucks, craft vendors, live music, and hula performances. It has invited the public to view movies at The Hokulani Imaginarium (planetarium); showcased artwork from the ceramics studio; and most recently, held The Aloha Giveaway at the covered parking lot (solar panels are on the roof) near the entrance of the campus. I have attended Hawaiian concerts in the Paliku Theater - and Union meetings in one of the classrooms. The library and cafe were impressive - both were very organized, clean, and professional! This is such a beautiful campus where parking is free! I'm tempted to take a class or two here...

Due to recent heavy rain and flooding, Windward Community College is the temporary vaccination site…read morebeing used on March 10 & 11 for the state's Covid 19 vaccination distribution. My husband and I are fortunate to be receiving our 2nd Moderna vaccine here this morning, a month ago we got it at Windward Health Center. Street signs were posted with arrows guiding you to Hale Akoakoa Building, covid protocols are enforced including temp check's in the beginning, many staff ensuring seats and other touch surfaces are sanitized before the next person arrives, short application to be completed while in line, brief assessment with an MD, then you're seated with a nurse who administers your shot, moving to a quarantine area for 15 minutes should a patient have allergic reactions needing medical attention, checkout desk to validate your official vaccination card reminding you to make a copy of it for your PCP. Also complimentary cold water & Gatorade bottles are available upon request. I was beyond impressed with this process and how efficient it was as well as how wonderful each and every staff person/volunteer was that I interacted with.
