Our instructor for this morning, Carol, has been practicing for over 20 years & provided a great class with some deep stretches, balance sequences, warrior flows, and a lot of focus on the breath & letting go of what is not for you. Awesome instructor with a kind disposition. She even took a picture with me at the end! I really enjoyed this class, being out on the water made it a great experience. Very peaceful & blissful venue, even with the wind (which posed a challenge at times). Makes me wish I had something like this at home! Oh well, it will just make it sweeter to come back the next time I'm in town!

It helps with creating a calming and distraction free space. They have a bathroom and filtered water, safe to leave things in cubbies, blocks and bolsters and even some mats if you need to borrow one. Their schedule is varied throughout the week, including Hatha, sculpt, Hot vinyasa, slow flow and vinyasa. A highlight is they also have a physcial therapist and massage therapist within reach, so you can connect to either of those to help build your spiritual/emotional/mental health as well as physical. I'm excited to continue to come here and looking forward to the newest addition of their HOT style classes, where they use infrared heaters.

After a long week of being off my practice and on the road, I found The Breathing Space on the…read moreHolden Beach Causeway. My body & spirit rejoiced when I entered the small, neat studio. The lobby is a sunroom with cubbies, mats for rent and all the props you need to practice. The teacher, Diane, greeted me and showed me their quick check in process. We chatted and I immediately felt at home. Tonight's class was "Bliss Down", exactly what I needed after a week of dealing with life. The studio was a long back room with hardwood floors. The other students and I followed Diane's gentle, serene instructions. I love yoga studios that make you feel that it is your practice and it is not a competition. My body stretched and strengthened and sighed with pleasure. At the end, and I am always surprised when a good yoga session is over, while we were in sevasana, Diane treated us to a lavender temple message. When she pulled on my ears, I thought my spine was going to turn to jelly and sink through the floor, it was that relaxing! Then back to the real world - I will definitely visit again - $12 for that type of mind/body pampering is well worth it!
