Very likeable place - friendly & welcoming atmosphere, customers are given a fee bowl of lentil soup upon arrival.
My friend and I looked at the group of men at the next table, all of whom were enthusiastically devouring a lamb and rice dish - we looked at each other, and it was obvious we were going to have the same
The food was most enjoyable - big hunks of fatty lamb that falls off the bone, perfectly-cooked rice, and four bowls (between two of us) of vegetables in a kind of red soupy sauce, along with a side-salad and flatbread.
After finishing the meal and chatting to the regulars, we were offered tea - served in small glasses and with a slightly spiced flavour - at no extra charge.
I'm giving it four stars because the menu is limited, and the soupy veggie accompaniments to the lamb dish were pretty samey. However I'll be going back - it's great value. and fun to dip into the world of Manchester's welcoming, hospitable Kurdish community. read more
