Real foodies in the know will absolutely be in love with this place. It is an absolute God send, in every sense of the word. Ok so its location first. Burnage is not the best of areas let's be fair, but this is a blessing in disguise because it is the last place people would think about dining out. This means it is never too busy, which isn't a reflection on the restaurant but merely on the demographics of the area!!!
The food is in one word magnificent!!! I mean the flavours just keep on firing on all cylinders from the moment you sink into your Mysour lambchops to the moment you wipe clean the last of your lamb vindaloo. Yes I did say lamb twice. Why?? Well my friends, I have arguably never tasted a better set of seasoned lamb chops in my life. Even the bone seems to have inbuilt flavour, I gotta ask them how they do that!!
The decor inside is mellow and traditional with South Indian art displayed on the walls and comedy value bollywood song selection on show with various LCDs dotted around the restaurant. The waiters are amongst the politest you'll ever meet and they are knowledgeable about their respective cuisine. Excellent recommendations. Now the food doesn't arrive in a flash and you understand why when it does arrive. The amount of effort that goes into cooking it is evident. I'm not talking about decorating the food willy nilly, I'm talking about seasoning. God I love that word in this review. It is very relevent though in this case. There is so much to admire on the menu it is refreshing, South Indian cuisine is different. Indian has over 100 languages with a population of over a billion people you'd be ignorant and foolish to think that all of Indian cuisine is going to be the same. If you ever want to try out the variation and expand your horizons, this is the place to start!!! This place really is as good as it gets, whether you're trying the Masala Dhosa, or the Mysour chops, you'll be blown away. I haven't mentioned prices and don't feel the need to because the food this good is worth every penny. (FYI for those pedantic souls amongst you it is averagely priced, 5 of us were well fed and drenched with a bill of under £64, you do the math) read more
