I called countryside as they were who I trusted to install the hot water heater. I spoke with some gal and explained to her that we are smelling gas from the hot water tank she said ok put me on hold for 10min.... She comes back to say that they can't send anyone out til Monday I told her that was BS and that it's a gas leak they can send someone now. She then sends me to Mike I then explain to him the same thing and that it's bullshit to have to wait til Monday for a gas leak he then laughs at me and says if I swear again he is going to end the call I ended up getting furious with him said some words and ended the call for him hey Mike what if this was your home with children you gonna wait til Monday POS So I reached out to another company who will be here in 30 minutes not days I do not recommend this company they over charge for everything and there customer service is shit you mean a lot to them until the sale is done not the way you do business Update Xcel came out and for your company's information I have had a gas leak at the water heater control valve for almost a year now thank you for your quality install and putting my family at risk we are now done with this company we don't take playing with our lives lightly They say a faulty part from manufacture or could it have been one to many turns at the time of install and was cracked And coincidentally my wife's business had same issue we tried this business several times and now we're moving on I appreciate the phone call though trying to get me to remove my review but maybe if you guys didn't treat a gas leak as a laughing matter I would been a little easier

We have lived in River Falls for over 31 years now and Steiner's have been our go-to for plumbing and heating for nearly all of those years! Recently, my son purchased a home in Hastings, MN. I was trying to find a local electrician to install 3 new ceiling fans but found it difficult to find an electrician to return my calls. When one finally did, he was going to charge me $2600 for install 3 fans which I had already purchased!! I called Mr. Steiner to ask if that was a reasonable cost and he told me it wasn't. He then offered to talk to his son, Matt, and they would put their heads together and see what they could come up with! He called me back and Chris, one of his MN licensed electricians, came out just 3 days ago and put those fans in for me! THANK YOU! I know I can never say it enough! We shopped around and ultimately selected Steiner to install a new boiler for an old baseboard…read moreradiator system. It seemed fine at first, but had issues maintaining pressure. We had them come out the first time to adjust it, for a fee of course, and were reassured it was totally normal. The next time it happened we called a different place that thought the whole thing was installed strangely an didn't really want to work on it. We had Steiner come back the next time the pressure dropped again and this time the guy kept chatting us up while doing the repair and then stood around talking about the history of boilers, etc. Little did I know he would then charge us for that full time - in addition to the drive to and from their office, which happens to be 30 min away. Of course they had never mentioned this service fee when installing the system, but now we're expected to pay almost an hour of labor for them to show up to fix a chronic problem with their own system. Most recently I had come up with a solid guess of a minor issue with the switch for our zones. I called and explained what I thought the problem was, they came to service it, and I told the tech exactly what I thought was wrong. He quickly ruled that out and then went on a wild goose chase checking thermostat programming and batteries before realizing it was actually the controller I had asked him to look at and replaced the $120 part. Weeks later I get a bill for almost $450 claiming 2 hours of work PLUS a $40 service fee. I had carefully written down exactly when the tech texted, arrived, and left and it was 90 minutes tops. I waited 2 months to get a response to my emailed complaint, which was basically: nope. So, we are definitely done with Steiner and unless you live in River Falls WI I would not recommend. Much better value in MN HVAC contractors.

Called Justin on a Friday. Said he would be out following Monday. Never showed. Finally texted me on Thursday and would be out on Friday. No show/call/text. Reached him the next week. Tons of excuses followed by another week of false promises. Finally showed up with apprentice. Crappy job. Tankless water heater install. Charges $600 and it failed 1 hour later. Day after day he says he will be back in the morning. The short of it - I had to call another electrician to re-do his wiring. Another $350. $950 plus water heater and other parts. But, after 4 weeks of backyard showers, I finally have hot water. Do yourself a humongous favor and take my story into consideration before you call Justin. They called back at 7:45am, a service guy was to the house by 10am, problem diagnosed by 11am: my 21 year old AC unit was shot. Aaron, a sales guy, came out by 4pm to take a look and waited for me to get home from work at 5:10pm to go through my options. He gave me 5, from the absolute cheapest band aid to a cadillac option, explained how fast they could do each, and left me with the quotes and his cell phone number so I could call him that evening if necessary. I texted him my choice at 7:15am the next morning, and they had the AC unit completely installed by 10am. 27 hours from start to finish!
