They are thorough, helpful and knowledgeable. They have saved my rear end in a pinch many times having what we needed to finish in the middle of a project and have been great for planning a project in advance. Give them a call and you will be surprised at how many tools and every day items they have for projects, parties and odd jobs around the house. An FYI is they ask for ID when you are renting. It makes sense because you are paying a few bucks to rent something worth sometimes many thousands of dollars. Pay close attention to the instructions on how to use things and if not sure ask again. They will take a close look at your return too so your odds of damaging something go way down when you know how to use it. It has not happened to me but I have seen it when up there and someone else is returning. Overall the people and variety of rental equip they have are great. Highly recommended.

The bus is extremely clean and well-kept. You can tell they care about their product & providing a nicely detailed vehicle. The AC worked well especially considering how humid it was outside the day we used them. Also, the booking process through email was a breeze. They were timely in responding to our request for a party shuttle service. Communication remained clear and cheerful throughout our entire experience. And more about Day Block's Event Center, I don't believe Stephanie and Calvin could have selected a more stellar venue for their special day. Throughout the wedding, I repeatedly found myself gazing at the... +beautiful yellow and white-ish exposed brick throughout. +two-story high ceilings that made the entire space feel both spacious and open. +tall windows that allowed for plenty of natural light. +b-boy-approved wooden floors perfect for backspins and other power moves. +small deck that's useful for cooling off after booty-shaking for hours on end. +ideal rooms for the ceremony, reception, dance floor, food, and bar. The venue also seemed really cool with hosting non-affiliated businesses. Common Roots catered a delicious and savory meal and Foxglove Market & Studio provided plenty of immaculate and unique decorations. Both contributed to making the wedding awesome. Other tidbits: -Through Day Block, one can rent out a private and fenced parking area that's almost necessary for a large event Downtown. -There are two single, yet spacious bathrooms for attendees. -It's located on the second floor of Day Block Brewery. Typically social 6 to 7 food is served 7 to 9 and then singing and dancing from 9 PM till midnight. Family friendly environment. People don't get drunk at this event. The only thing I don't like about Cedars Hall is the lack of paintings on the wall. However most of the time weddings and quincinnieras they get their own decoration. Professional kitchen. I just had my wedding here on June 4th, 2016. We rented the hall for a large 400 person wedding…read moreand since we live in New Jersey, we not only had to deal with the complications of long distance planning but we had the extra difficult task of trying to get a hold of anyone capable of answering our questions. We chose Cedars Hall because there are not many venues in the Twin Cities that can fit a wedding that large. It also helped that my sister had gotten married there 5 years ago so we were familiar with the layout and location. Unfortunately, over the last 5 years, many things have changed. The rules and regulations are clearly written out but when speaking with the event manager himself, we found that a lot of these rules and regulations seemed to change depending on his preferred working hours. For example, the rental regulations and policies clearly state that "Delivery of food is allowed only during the times of 10am to 4pm." We found in the days leading up to the wedding that on Saturday (Wedding Day), we would not have access to the Hall at all until 4pm. Why that was exactly seemed to be more due to the lack of personnel willing to work on that Saturday. So in the last few days leading up to the wedding, we had to call our caterer, the bakery that was delivering the wedding cake and the liquor store to change all their delivery times to past 4pm on Saturday. In addition, because we only had the hall for 4 hours for decoration purposes, we asked Cedars Hall to provide us with "people who they'd used for decoration help in the past". We paid them close to $20 per person per hour only to find on that Friday that the helpers provided included the event manager's wife and his daughter, including a few other people who clearly were there just to earn an easy $20 per hour. One of the person who was supposedly "helping" us even went so far as to yell at my mother because she asked them to do something instead of standing around. A few of my friends and family who were there to help actually asked me if it was possible to "fire" some of the hired help. Unfortunately, we paid upfront for the help. What really upset me as the bride was my inability to get a hold of the event manager at Cedars Hall. I called his office phone, his cell phone and emailed him over the course of a week and never received either a call back or an email answering any of my questions (keep in mind, I was doing all the planning 1200 miles away). Finally, my dad took the drastic measure of driving over and stalking around the grounds until someone told him that no one was there over Memorial weekend. This person then called the event manager who finally was able to answer our most urgent answer of when we could have access to the hall for decoration purposes. The following Tuesday when we flew in, we drove directly to Cedars Hall as clearly that was the only way to get a hold of anyone there and further clarified everything from where the band would be set up to whether we'd have access to any of the other rooms for changing purposes. Lastly, in spite of the regulation clearly stating that bottles of champagne "are allowed outside of the bar area for wedding champagne toasts only. The Lessee, or his agent, must provide AND serve the champagne." When we pressed on this issue again and again, we were told that we had two options: 1) Either every single guests at the wedding would have to bring their glass up to the bar to have champagne poured there or 2) they would have to close the bar for however long it took for the two bartenders to come around and pour champagne at the tables. This is clearly in spite of their written policy that states that we were to provide the champagne and serve it. I would NOT recommend to anyone planning a wedding or a large event to consider Cedars Hall. I could not have had a worse experience. The event manager there only cares about collecting your money. Once they have your 50% deposit, they could not care less how your event goes. Weddings are some of the biggest and most expensive events in life and Cedars Hall managed to make it absolute nightmare for us. As the bride, I weathered every single one of these issues as well as possible but I know that most brides would probably have broken down in tears and/or threatened legal action for breach of contract. Either way, be forewarned and just DON'T fall in the same trap I did.
