Anyways, I needed a thirst quencher and I got the iced honey black milk tea in large with herbal jelly. It tasted really good with the honey. It was so addicting that I finished it really fast. The herbal jelly at the end when there was no more milk tea was very hard to finish. The straw was not very accommodating with the herbal jelly. The tea alone was refreshing, but with the add-on toppings of my favorite herbal jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 $0.75 was delicious chilled and fresh. I do have a predilection for fruit or Kung Fu Tea categorized it as "punch" teas. If any bubble tea business do not carry herbal jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 I would make my usual fast exit. Kung Fu Tea's customer service is attentive and very prompt from order placement, payment, and fulfillment. I did not wait long for my drink. This peach Oolong tea contain actual fruit peach cut pieces, but was fresh. The plastic cup appears a current promotion of the cartoon character Strawberry Shortcake. Ordered at 12:38PM for pick up on the app. ready eta was 12:43. Which is practically the standard time (or less) that it takes to prepare the drink. Drink was still not ready upon arrival at 12:45. Multiple guests came in after me and ordered and all got their drinks prior. After everyone left is when they started packing my drinks. It was a 15 minute wait, inside the store, after arriving after the eta that it would be ready by, for my drink to be ready. What the point of allowing people to order on the app if they are going to be served last. Just do what Popeyes does and disable allowing customers to order on the app if customers who order on the app are going to be last priority. I literally order ahead so I can pick up my drink ASAP since I have to return to work like everyone else, but what's the point if I'm going to get it AFTER everyone who orders in store who enter AFTER I arrive. And this KFT location is always like this. The KFT in Brooklyn on 8th avenue always has my drink by the time I arrive. So I don't know what the issue is. Which is why I'd rather order Gong Cha at least in China Town. And Gong Cha has better rewards too, so it's an easy decision. This place was GREAT! Located in Chinatown. My cousin recommended this place and she didn't steer me wrong. The place is tiny but space is a high commodity in NY. There were lots of people (young teens) inside but the 2 guys taking and making the orders were quick. I ordered a large Mango slush since the weather was getting a bit warm. Staff is unprofessional and rude. I ordered a drink looking off the menu and when I looked at the price on the screen it rang up to much more than was listed on the menu. I simply asked the cashier if they had raised their prices, in which the cashier said that they had raised it for the past two years and did not update the menu yet. (This already screams false advertisement) I didn't have a problem with that and just wanted to clarify to make sure that they were charging me for the correct drink (because mistakes can happen sometimes). I proceeded to wait outside for a few minutes while my order was being made and when the cashier calls me back inside, I hear his coworkers blatantly talking about me the second I walk in. They were talking about how rude I was for complaining about raising their prices, when I simply asked, "Did you guys raise your prices?" Not to mention they were saying it in Cantonese right in my face as if I couldn't understand them. (pro tip - Dont talk smack about someone in Chinatown in Cantonese when most of your customers are Chinese) Could not believe the complete irony coming out of their mouths. At least have some decency to wait until I leave to say it. It really leaves a sour taste in your mouth when you are supporting a business and the staff treats you this way. I've been to this Kung Fu Tea a few times, but I typically prefer the Chrystie Street one if I'm in Chinatown. That one's more spacious and the baristas are always nicer. I was in Chinatown on a Monday afternoon and wanted to pick up some boba before heading into Brooklyn. The Chrystie Street location was not taking orders on the app, so I had to go with this location. I ordered on the app and it quoted me a 12:56pm pick up time. I arrived around 1:05pm and my order wasn't ready. First, the line was out the door and when I tried to get inside to pick up my order, people were all up in my face about "skipping the line". They need to be better about their pick up signage. Second, when I arrived, the barista told me it wasn't ready and then the two of them proceeded to complain about online orders to each other in Cantonese - about how annoying they are and how they hate them. Very unprofessional. I've honestly never had a problem ordering via the app at other Kung Fu Tea locations - both before and during the pandemic. Definitely never gotten this level of sass trying to get my drinks before. The storefront is positively TINY and it's impossible to social distance. read more

My friend and I came here because he was craving a drink. Upon arrival, he ordered an Oreo slushee and attempted to pay with a debit card. The cashier quickly said 10 dollar minimum so my friend offered to also buy me a drink Initially I was unsure what I wanted but I decided upon the hot taro milk green tea. When the cashier asked me what topping I wanted I was unsure as well, but my friend suggested the jelly. I gave it some thought, but decided to get bubbles instead. When we received our drinks I opened my cup to see if they had put my desired topping because I felt that my friend's suggestion may have threw off the employee. Turns out it did and the employee put jelly instead of bubbles... I told the cashier that he gave me the wrong topping and I wanted bubbles, not jelly. He was rude about it and told me to pay 50 cents to add bubbles to my drink. I told him that I didn't want jelly at all, and he asserted that I said I ordered it as the topping. When I finally clarified with him that my drink was suppose to have bubbles, he replaced my drink for me. I understand that I should've clarified with the employee after placing my order but he was unnecessarily rude. So how'd it taste? The drink was meh. It was not warm enough. The drink tasted too milky and was too sweet for my liking. Overall I feel like this was a crappy visit and the taste of my drink did not help. I get that after a long day of work, you don't want to put up with complaints, but there's no need to be rude. There really isn't anywhere to sit and sometimes the wait times are long and the staff can get flustered - but they are really nice and so are the customers. The product tastes excellent, especially my beloved lemon black tea. I hope they are still making it even though corporate has cut it from the menu of all KFT locations because corporate has pleasing-Fox-E issues. At this location, they also sell a bunch of cool little trinkets as you can see in the pictures. All in all this is an excellent location and I will be back again. Five stars all the way. read more

Bubble tea was good, but maaaaan was the customer service whacky. I'm one of two customers in the store. I order a large milk chai with bubbles, pay nearly $7, plus leave a dollar tip. Lady after me also orders milk chai with bubbles. (Note how I magically overhead this CRUCIAL DETAIL.) When the first drink--a large milk chai with bubbles--comes out, the lady was closer to the drink placement location so she just took it. I'm in no hurry and she seemed to be, so I very much didn't mind waiting another few seconds for mine. Then I see the staff is making a medium-sized milk chai with bubbles. At this point it occurs to me that even though the lady and I ordered the same drink, we must have ordered different sizes. I told the staff I ordered a large, and this girl behind the counter immediately says, "It's not my fault that you weren't paying attention." Whaaaaaaaaa?????? I mean, it's bizarre to expect a customer to know the exact orders of EVERY OTHER CUSTOMER. It seemed like such an honest, simple mistake, and I had maybe a five-second window to stop the other customer and insist I inspect her drink before letting her leave the store. Just an insane thing for an employee to expect someone to do. Also, shouldn't THE PERSON RUNNING THE BUSINESS be "paying attention" to this kind of thing?? I convinced the lady to make the actual drink I ordered--she didn't offer to, not did she offer to refund me the difference--and she complained about me to her coworker the entire time. Then when she gave me the drink, it came with a bonus lecture about how I need to make sure I pay attention next time. Luckily for me, there will be no next time! What is the fuss about this kung fu tea? I am big into bubble tea for years. I don't think the product is worth the price. It is literally a cup of milk shaken by their fancy machine with some bubbles. Unlike my favorite dragon tea place on Greenwich Street, I wasn't asked how much milk how much sugar or anything else. To the earlier poster about the prices I completely agreed. I went in because I looked outside the window and it said for a medium was like four dollars plus. When I got ranked up it was almost 7. It is definitely false advertising and to bring people in. They are not friendly and I truly don't see why displays has such great reviews. Just the size and the price. I'm so glad I got to get my boba fix in NY. We stumbled upon this place while we were in Chinatown and I was extremely happy we did. It was hot & humid and Kung Fu Tea quenched our thirst! The set-up of the place is pretty small with a narrow hallway. It wasn't that crowded when we got there so the logistics of the place wasn't too much of an issue. There are a host of options to choose from and I was delighted to see a bunch of tea options available (opposed to your typical milk teas). The Grapefruit Green Tea is awesome. I wanted to try a new flavor of bubble tea (as opposed to my usual Lychee Green Tea). I was curious as to how grapefruit and green tea would go together and I ended up pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the flavor combination. It's a bit tart and sweet. The green tea in the background was cooling and balanced everything out. I liked that there were pieces of grapefruit pulp floating on the top of the drink. The boba had a nice chew to it. Overall, the tea was very refreshing. This location is small. There isn't much seating available, about 3 bar stools and one small counter. As a substitute for a real lunch, my boyfriend and I decided to come here for some boba to fill up our stomach! We noticed this particular Kung Fu Tea only really has room for walking in/out of the store. There aren't any tables there, and it could comfortably fit 7 customers all standing in single file. I ended up ordering the Oreo Wow Milk Tea, which interestingly enough has Lactaid in it! Service was pretty quick - I ended up getting my drink in about 5-10 mins. I started drinking it and it was pretty good! It definitely tasted a lot like a less thick Oreo milkshake. However once I was about a third of the way done with the drink, it became too diluted, despite my quick slurping of the milk tea and boba. My experience at KFT has always been getting drinks that are too icy, and once again, KFT has fulfilled this expectation. The boba was pretty chewy and sweet, so I will commend KFT for that. Overall, it was a pretty icy and average drink. However, most KFT drinks for me have been subpar, but this one was pretty good compared to other KFT drinks! I ended up drinking about 80% of it before calling it quits. I'm not one to recommend KFT, but if so, then at least have KFT in New York or even the one on Canal Street. read more
