She repeated that she did make it over, but when I asked her co-worker if she made it over, she quietly shook her head no (please give this young lady a raise or something for being honest). Then she said she could make a new smoothie if something is wrong with it but since I just don't like it, they can't remake it. I said y'all used less product so that altered the flavor. She said they are wasting product by remaking it because I didn't like it. I told her I will stop coming here and just wasted $12. She said okay have a good day. Visited Blend for the first time with a friend, excited to find a local place that could…read moreaccommodate my raw vegan lifestyle. My first impression was wonderful..the little restaurant was clean, charming, and the outdoor seating was perfect for a warm day. Sadly...that positive impression quickly changed due to the customer service we received. We were greeted by an employee whose receipt identified her as Ashley. Ironically, she was wearing a "Good Vibes" shirt, yet her attitude toward me was anything but welcoming. As I explained that I am a strict RAW vegan and wanted to build my own salad without rice or meat, she became noticeably extremely rude, dismissive and snarky. I wasn't requesting anything outside of what the menu already offers; I was simply using the build-your-own option that Blend advertises. What was most disappointing was what happened afterward. While waiting for my order, both my friend and I could clearly hear and observe Ashley mocking me from the back area. Right in the doorway as if she didn't try to hide it at all talking to another employee...at one point, she appeared to be imitating someone using a cane. Which is obviously not a coincidence considering as someone who currently uses a cane while recovering from cancer treatment, she was clearly mocking me. Yesterday's experience was deeply hurtful and humiliating. To avoid further embarrassment, or harassment my friend suggested and I chose to sit outside and finish our meal. No apology was offered, nor was there any attempt to address the situation by any of the staff. I genuinely wanted to support this local business, but after this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend it to others. Everyone deserves to be treated with basic kindness and respect, regardless of their dietary choices or physical limitations.

See, here's the thing: I am on a regimen, this summer. A watching-what-I-eat,…read morerunning-every-morning regimen. It has some benefits; namely, the twenty pounds I've shed. It does, however, make it a lot harder to eat out when running errands . For example, earlier this week, I had just gone to the eye doctor at the Carolina Place Lenscrafters, and I was milling around the mall, waiting for my new glasses to be ready within the promised hour. It was lunch time, but healthy food court options seem limited. I finally settled on Great Wraps. They had quite the line going, and they smelled good, so I figured they must be good. My figuring turned out to be correct. I had a hummus veggie wrap in a spinach tortilla, and while it wasn't the best thing I've ever eaten, its quality actually surprised me. The hummus was smooth and garlicy and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. It was affordable, too: you can get a combo for somewhere between seven and eight dollars. If you're in Carolina Place, you should give Great Wraps a try.

I happened to be at Carolina Place Mall during lunch hours and spotted Jamba Juice to try a smoothie. I got a small peach perfection smoothie and my husband got a small smooth talking mango. The smoothies weren't cheap, but were in line with other smoothies. I again would rather spend $8 bucks on an actual meal instead of a smoothie. My smoothie tasted like a very berry smoothie - tasted plenty of strawberry - which there is supposed to be strawberry in the smoothie, but I would expect a smoothie titled peach to have an over abundance taste of peach. I could not taste peach at all. Now my husbands smoothie definitely tasted like a mango, and I enjoyed his more. Not that mine was bad, it's just not what I wanted mine to taste like. I love peaches, and this was not a peach smoothie. At any rate, service was fine. Nothing friendly, just a guy doing his work and getting the job done. He had our smoothies made in a couple minutes. He was also properly wearing a mask during this COVID time. Have no intentions of coming back here or to any Jamba Juice any time soon - didn't wow me and further confirmed my enjoyment of actual meals over a drink for a meal replacement.

We ordered two coffees and two breakfast sandwiches and left a 20% tip. Afterward, they let me know that I had accidentally been charged for an extra coffee. They refunded the coffee, but the portion of the tip associated with that extra charge was never refunded. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. Overall, the sandwich was good, but the bacon was way too salty. At first, I thought maybe it was just me, so I had my partner try it--and he agreed. Definitely salty. My caramel coffee was also pretty watered down and just wasn't what I expected, especially for what I paid. On the other hand, my partner really enjoyed everything he ordered, so our experience wasn't all bad. It's definitely a cute neighborhood coffee shop with some great breakfast options, and I can see why people enjoy it. Just a heads-up: if you're in a hurry, I'd recommend ordering ahead. They can get pretty busy in the mornings, and there can be a bit of a wait when ordering in person. I really wanted my second visit to win me over, but unfortunately, I'm still not quite there.
